A thought on being a mom
Today Tucker and I sat at the table sharing a snack of chips and salsa. I'm glad I took the time to enjoy him and his sweet little smile and that he lets me call him "My Tucker," but not "My baby" or "My big boy," because he says, "No I Tucker," whenever I call him anything else. As we were sitting there, my finger (which has a little cut on it) started to sting, and I must have said something because Tucker noticed and asked if mommy's finger was hurt. I said yes and showed him and then he said, "Maybe, I have an idea, I kiss it." As I watched that sweet little boy kiss my finger better it struck me that he knows how to show compassion and that he learned this from me (Ok Adam, too :)) From our home. It made me feel better for the times when I get down on myself because I'm too quick to loose my temper and yell or be upset because I'm cleaning up the same mess for the upteenth time that day. As I work to have more patience and love for my little boys, I hope that they know that there mom does think the world of them. And when I see "My Tucker," bend down to kiss my finger better I catch a little glimpse that yes, they are learning love by example.
5 Months
Charlie boy is already 5 months.
He is super smiley, laughy and drooly-all things a 5 month old should be. I love that whenever I see his sweet face he smiles for me.
He loves Tucker and wants to watch all that Tucker does.
He's still up at least once sometimes twice during the night to eat. :( But it keeps those chubs in all the right places, so I guess I can deal with less sleep. Here's our big boy:

Gymnastics
Tucker has been taking gymnastics a little over a month and tomorrow is his last day. Back at the beginning of the year we were watching some cartoon and the characters were in gymnastics, and Tucker thought that looked like fun. I looked to see if our city offered any classes for little guys like him, and sure enough they did. He's been having a nice time, and I've been getting a workout helping him (it's a parent/tot class-heavy on the parent). Luckily Charlie sleeps most of the time. I think it's been good for us to get out and have an activity while it's been too cold to play outside, but I think I would wait another year or so before enrolling Tucker in an activity like this again. He's still a little too young, but he has had fun swinging like a monkey or walking on the balance beam.

Donkey Kicks-These make me laugh so much. We can get Tucker to do them on command at the house, and he also adds the "hee-haw"
