China Mail

Aunt Jessi sure spoils these boys. Today we received another package from China. This time filled with yellow Chinese dragon pajamas, treats, and wooden toys (I have pictures). She also sent me a new orange makeup bag and fabric tape. And a few weeks ago, after seeing Tucker's New Year's video where he said his favorite toy was the Tucker the Dump truck, but he does not have that toy, Jessi mailed Tucker a Tucker truck, and Charlie some little trucks as well. I tell you, these boys don't even know how lucky they are!! Thank you Jessi!

San Antonio

Adam had spring break this year, and we were excited to take advantage of it. We headed to San Antonio for a couple of days and saw the sights. Adam and the boys swam in the freezing hotel pool (it was 75-80 the entire time we were there, but still a little chilly to go swimming). We ate dinner on the Riverwalk, rode a train around Brackenridge park and had a picnic with cousins, toured the Japanese tea gardens, and remembered the Alamo. We enjoyed our first official family vacation.

Thanks to my sister, Jessi, we were able to stay at a nice hotel, and our room was huge!! We thought it would be a regular two queen bed hotel room. When we opened the door to the room, we were surprised to see that it had a separate living room and a fridge and microwave. I was excited and kept pointing out the different things to Adam. Tucker joined in on the excitement and said, "Look they have a thing that tells time (a clock) and a mirror!" Simple pleasures for the both of us!
I told Tucker that he could jump on the bed because we were on vacation
Mmmmm . . .Brindles

Windows on the River-The restaurant we ate at on the Riverwalk thanks to Restaurant.com
While at the temple, we stopped in the distribution center and Tucker got a CTR (choose the right) ring. Once it was on his finger he said, "I used to make bad choices because I didn't have one of these." :)
Heading home. I think it's safe to say we all felt the same way Charlie looks after 2.5 days of vacation with two kids!

One Fell Off...

Charlie is a climber. I don't remember Tucker being such a climber, and well Charlie likes to climb on the kitchen chairs, and every mother's fear happened tonight. Charlie fell off and bonked his head. He cried pretty good and kept touching his forehead. Within a minute it was swollen and turning purple. Adam took Charlie to the urgent care, and the doctor said that Chars was probably ok because he didn't lose consciousness, but if we wanted to take him to the ER for a CAT scan we could. We opted not to because Charlie was acting fine and didn't seemed bothered that he had hit his head, and the purple color was getting lighter. Poor little guy. Oh, and what does he do as soon as he gets home? Climb back up on the kitchen chair!!!! Here are some pictures of his goose egg. As you can see in the pictures, Charlie was more interested in wiggling and trying to get the camera then letting me document his first bonk.

Expressions of Love

I just watching this: http://www.lds.org/pages/mormon-messages-gallery?lang=eng#expressions-of-love Mormon Message called "Expressions of Love."

I love the older man who said that it would be a shame to have been married this long (57 years) and gotten it this good to not have it perpetuated beyond the grave.

I firmly believe that families can be together forever. I am so grateful to be sealed to Adam and the boys and to have them as my forever family. Every day I love Adam and the boys more and more. Adam and I will celebrate 6 years of marriage in May, and I can't believe sometimes that it has only been 6 years because it feels like we've known each other much longer {in a good way}. I feel so blessed that I can be married to Adam and I feel that I have learned so much from him.

Dance Party

When I was in college, my roommates would joke about how one day I would have random dance parties with my kids. Well the time has come, and we have our fair share of dance parties. Both of my boys just can't help but dance whenever they hear a song. Just yesterday Charlie was sitting on the couch and when a song came on (I think at the end of a show they were watching), he got down and started bending his legs up and down. :) Tucker's got quite the moves, too. A few weeks ago we were at music makers and the lady in charge of picking the songs asked what songs the kids wanted to sing. Tuck ran up to her like he was going to tell her the song he wanted to sing, and then he couldn't think of any or got embarrassed and so his default was to start dancing. Oh boy! And you might notice the camera is a little shaky. I had to remind myself that I was videotaping and I couldn't dance, too. :)

Cake

Our ward had its annual spaghetti dinner/bake sale auction a couple of weeks ago. The dinner is free and is a ward activity and the bake sale auction is a fund raiser for the Young Women's organization. I made a coconut vanilla cake (Adam's favorite), and I really hoped it turned out tasting delicious because it auctioned the highest for a cake that night!! I didn't take any pictures of it that night, but here are the last two years that I've made it (one for Easter and one for Adam's birthday). The last picture is the Italian cream cake that we bid on and won. It was really good (as you can tell by in the picture).

Life Lately

I feel like our life has been busy lately. Not so much that we're going places, but just the day to day life. These pictures are from January. I don't know if I've taken many since these. We've all been feeling a little ill for a couple of weeks now, but it seems we're all doing better now and hopefully we'll keep it that way.

We've just enjoyed a visit from Grandpa (my dad) this weekend while my mom was out of town. He took the boys to build race cars at the Home Depot. Charlie doesn't have many words he says yet, but this weekend he started saying, "Grandpa" (Sounds like baw-pa, and at first we thought he was saying ball ball, but then realized that he would say it whenever he wanted grandpa, not when he saw a ball). Both boys love grandpa, and it makes his visits extra nice for mom and dad. :) Charlie is cruising around everywhere and loves to dance whenever he hears musics. Kind of looks like the deacon shuffle as he sways from side to side while spinning in a circle-it's pretty cute. He is also a climber. I don't remember Tucker climbing on the kitchen chairs or table or whatever, but Charlie loves to climb and I have to keep a close eye on him.

Tucker loves to ride his bike, and makes me so nervous when he gets going fast and then looks around him inside of paying attention to where he is going. He has made some pretty sweet skid marks on the sidewalks around our neighborhood when he stops. We spend many a day pretending to be Spiderman and his amazing friends. Tucker is Spiderman, of course, Charlie is Iceman, and mommy is Firestar. :) The adventures of having little boys!

I've been enjoying Pinterest and trying lots of new recipes or drooling over beautiful homes and decor. I felt like I was spending too much time on blogging and pinterest and internet in general and for the last few days I've been leaving the computer off until Charlie's naptime so that I can spend quality time with the boys without checking my email "real quick." It's made a big difference, and then I feel like I have giving Tucker attention and he's happy to have it.

Can't resist sweet sleeping pictures:

We got a Roku for Christmas, and have loved having more than two channels again!! (Charlie is in the box it came in.)
Sweet smiley Chars. He knows he can get away with a lot when he flashes that sweet grin. (You may notice on the TV that I've been a fan of Downton Abbey).
Waiting for his car to race down the track ( and I lied, the rest of the pictures are from January, but these are from yesterday)
Someone made this great race track, and the kids had fun letting their cars race. What a fun thing from the Home Depot.
