SUMMERTIME!!! PART 2

The kids could not wait to get to Snowflake to see the baby kittens (and, of course, the cousins)! They were so tiny. I think the girls would have slept in the garage with them if I'd let them. They tried to beg me to bring one home but that was NOT going to happen. They were cute... but NO WAY!

Grandpa and Grandma got a trailer hooked up to their lawn mower to take the grandkids for a ride. A lot of grandkids means a lot of rides. They loved it!

School started the end of July. Brooke is now in 2nd grade and Kylie started Kindergarten. They are growing up too fast!

We just got back from a last minute trip to California to visit James and Rachel. Grandma and Grandpa rode with us. We had a great time and LOVED the weather. We spent many hours at the beach making sand castles, playing in the water, collecting sea shells (Brooke said she needed 70), and relaxing!

James brought some paddle boards and kayaks to a small beach. We stayed there till we were out of food and drink and the sun was going down. Thanks for such a great time in beautiful California. We will come back soon!

Rachel in the back, Brooke by herself in the kayak, Grandma and Ty in the other, and Grandpa on the paddle board!

I love this picture of Ty helping Brent and James carry the kayaks.

TREK!!!

We were able to go on our stake pioneer trek in June. Brent got to be there the whole time and actually trek with them. I got to be there for the "Sabbath Day". I was happy to be there for the short time I was. It was such a great experience!

I've been wanting to learn how to sew for awhile now so I decided to sew my dress. Not quite a beginners project but with mom by my side, it turned out great! Sadly, this is the only picture I got and it's taken by Brooke, the last day of the trek. The kids stayed with Brent's parents so they were able to come the last morning and see the youth trek into camp.

Even though the majority of eyes are closed, they're still pretty cute pioneers!!

This was the hairwashing station. Pretty impressive, huh. I got to be one of the 6 hair washers!

Summertime!!!

Where to start? It's been quite a crazy summer! Kyile graduated from preschool with Mrs. Rebekah at the end of May. She's so excited to start kindergarten!

Kylie with Mrs. Rebekah! She absolutely loved preschool!

Ty had his first dentist appointment. He did GREAT! Did everything they asked him to and even did the xrays of his tiny mouth.

The girls played soccer (before it got too hot). They got to have cousin Hannah on the same team.

My little brother left on his mission to Chile. These are pics we took the night he was set apart. We miss him like crazy but excited for him to have this opportunity. Ty LOVES his UNCLE JOHN! He talks about him all the time. What a great example he is to all of us.

We got to go on our stake pioneer trek in the beginning of June, then off to girls camp, and scout camp (I'll try to post pics of these, no promises though) . One more stop to Snowflake and then the girls start school end of July. This summer went by too fast.

DOWN ON THE FARM!!!

A super nice lady in my parent's ward put some huge smiles on lots of tiny faces. She let us visit with her farm animals. My kids could not get enough of all these animals. I think Ty loved it the most! He would talk back to the goats/sheep and tried to climb in with the baby chicks. Makes me happy to see my kids loving life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!!!

After much convincing to not have to sew a costume, this is what we came up with. I'd have to say she's a pretty darn cute Cat in the Hat! And best of all, she loved it!

Strawberry Jam and Lion House Rolls!!!

You know it's a great day when you get to eat fresh strawberry jam and homeade Lion House Rolls. Two of my favorite things! Those of you who have never tried them, you are missing out. These rolls are the BEST! So simple and very very yummy. The kids devoured them. (And I'll admit, so did I!)

Helping make rolls.

Ty is starting to say a lot of things lately. One of his favorites is "I Help". He always wants to help. Sometimes this is a great idea and other times, not so much. He loves to help with the dishes and actually does a pretty good job. He stacks them on the counter for me to put away.

Proud of himself. And yes, what boy doesn't draw all over himself with marker? Gotta love my little man!

Here's some crazy kids making a Valentine's Day craft. Ty was not quite into it. He just liked playing in the glue! I still laugh every time I look at these pics. They say these are their "funny faces".
