Friday Favorites! {Christmas Pictures}

**I just noticed that my post on Christmas Day was messed up(tried to blog on my iPhone!)so I just fixed it if anyone was dying to see what I posted...j/k!! But I do think the Christmas collage card that I made is pretty cute so go check it out HERE!

"Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there!" That's how I feel about these 2 friends that I love and have known since elementary school. Robin and Beth are two of my very best friends and will always be. We got to get together( along with our men )before Brent and I left town for Christmas and we had a great time. I just love these two!!

I will write about Christmas Eve and Day later but today I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from those 2 days-ish...

Rowen got this car from his Nana and Pops( my parents )and loves it. His eyes lit up when he saw it for the first time! He had fun taking it for a test drive around their living room. Haha! He caught on pretty quickly about how he has to move his feet to make the car go.

-top to bottom-
1. Christmas morning picture of us 3! Too bad you can't see Brent and my's jingle jammie pants  :) Love Row's plaid pj's.
2. Rowen and his daddy playing with his new See-n-Say
3. Rowen sitting with his great grandpa while watching football on Monday night. This is one of the sweetest pictures.
4. His reindeer slippers. Aren't they adorable?! He got a lot of wear out of them while we were in WV.
5. Having a blast listening to the adults sing "jingle bells" at the dinner table. He giggled and squealed like it was the funniest thing ever.
6. He LOVES books and got quite a few from family members this year. This one was from his great grandparents. Two things he loves brought together...books and animals! "Lucas the Lion" is a super cute book.

-left to right/top to bottom-
1. Row and I cuddling in the most comfortable recliner ever.
2. Checking out his Thomas the Train cloth book granny made him.
3. Row got a snowsuit!! And he looked just like Ralphie's brother in A Christmas Story.
4. Chocolate and Peanut Butter crunchy Moon Pies. They are so delicious. We first had them in Alabama at a friends house back in August. We found them on Wednesday in WV on a Wal-Mart trip. Go get some!!
5. His great g-grandparents also got him a cute furry toy dog that barks and walks! He absolutely loves dogs! Even huge ones. He's not scared! haha. I can't wait to get him a real dog.
6. Bending down and peeking into one of his bags full of books. I love when he "peeks" into bags!

1. Wouldn't you know it, it started to flurry right when we were leaving yesterday morning!! If it had only come the day before, Rowen would have gotten to see his first snow! Oh well. Winter has just begun!! Here's to hoping we have a huge snow at least once in Nashville this year.
2 & 3. We went to see the largest display of Christmas lights I have ever seen! In the town of Ripley, WV, they have a very large county park that the town decks out with 1000's of lights every year at Christmas time. Cars just drive through and look at it all. We went Christmas night after dinner( in our pj's ). It was really really neat!!

Twas' the Night Before Christmas

This is my most favorite poem of the Christmas season. I love reading it a few times before Christmas and of course on the night before Christmas which is tonight!

{St Nicholas}

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Happy Friday! {Christmas Jammies Edition vol3}

I'm linking up with Meredith again today over at {the tichenor family} blog for her fun social Christmas Pajama party! Can't wait to see the other kiddos in their Christmas jammies!!

Rowen is always happy so it was no surprise that he was all smiles for this little jammie photo shoot. I snapped a few pictures of him while he was watching Thomas the Train. He loves that show. I didn't know anything about Thomas the Train at this point last year and now...well, I know all the names of the trains and all the words to the show's theme song! Anyways, back to the pajamas. I love this pair because they are light blue and have little Christmas reindeer and snowmen all over them. I'm not going to lie, I will probably keep putting Rowen in Christmas pjs well through January. I just think they are so cute!
  Rowen has the sweetest smile! He always has a cute little toothy grin. Love!

I think little ones look so cute in footed sleepers. Rowen always looks so warm and cozy in his. I imagine they are really comfortable...and I know, I know, they make them for adults. I am going to kindly pass on that!! I will stick to my "jingle jammies".

I'm pretty sure most of our Christmas cards have made it to their final destinations( minus a few that are still en route )so I am going to share our 2012 Christmas card with y'all! I love how it turned out and highly recommend using Minted next year if you are looking for a good card company.

{Warmest Wishes This Holiday Season. Merry Christmas.}

Blogger World, I know someone has an answer to my question!

Who loves Pottery Barn's children's stockings?! I do! They are adorable and that's why we ordered Rowen one this year! It arrived today and this evening I ripped it open and was so excited but a bit of sadness and disappointment took over when I saw the name "Tatum" on Rowen's stocking! They sent us the wrong one.
{It's super cute!}

After working everything out with a PBK representative on the phone, she told me to keep the "Tatum" stocking and donate it or something. Well, we have no need for it obviously and I would like to send it to a child named Tatum...do you know a child named Tatum?? If so please let me know and I will ship the stocking to you tomorrow! I don't want to try to sell it. I just want to give it away. Rowen has a new one waiting at the nearest Pottery Barn Kids for us to pick up tomorrow free of charge of course so this is not costing me anything.

A little weekend update

I'm linking up with Leeann and Sami today for my Weekend Update!

{Friday}
Friday afternoon Rowen and I went Christmas shopping and found lots of great things for our family members!
While browsing through the lovely items at Nordstrom, I stupidly walked down to the children's shoe department! They have cutest shoes ever there. Tom's, Hunter wellies, Ugg's...I mean really?! I wanted to get him a pair of Tom's but they didn't have his size in the grey or the navy. {Side note, Dear Tom's, it would be nice to have more than 4 colors of shoes to choose from for the boys. The girls have about 10 lovely designs. Thank you.} So, I had to settle for an adorable pair of tiny Ugg's!!  I about died at the cuteness. He will be wearing these all winter long!
Friday night I made peppermint sugar scrubs for my sister-in-laws! It was really fun and super easy. I saw the picture on pinterest but got the recipe here! I bought the coconut oil and the peppermint extract @ Whole Body and the raspberries @ Whole Foods.
 I mixed the sugar, peppermint extract, and coconut oil together in a large bowl. After it was good and mixed up, I split the scrub in half. I poured a little bit of raspberry juice in one bowl to give half the scrub that pink color.
And here is the finished product! It smells really good and
I had some extra so I used it and it made my skin super smooth and smelt really yummy in the shower!
I'm going to finish here and I will catch you up and Saturday and Sunday later on this week! I have a little bit more Christmas shopping to do and better get on that!!

Happy Friday! {Christmas Jammies Edition vol2}

I'm linking up with Meredith today over at {the tichenor family} blog for this fun social Christmas Pajama party! She did this for Halloween and it was so much fun getting to see lots of little ones in their scary pj's. Now this time around is all about Christmas pj's!! Yay.

Here is sweet little Rowen in his green and white "candy cane" jammies!! We went in to Old Navy last week b/c he was needing some fleece pj's and I couldn't pass up the Christmas ones that I found( these included )!
He is one smiley little boy!! It's so precious.

I could just eat him up! Such a sweetie. Bottom left: he was watching Stuart Little and thought the talking cat in the movie was hilarious.
I love these jammies and can't wait to share a few of his other Christmas ones in the next few "pajama link ups"! Make sure to hop on over to Meredith's blog to see the other cuties in their Christmas pj's!

**Also, don't forget about the giveaway for the peppermint candy cane body scrub. I'll attach the rafflecoptor below. This is from my guest post over on Amber's blog...My Three Bittles.**
