Daddy/Daughter Dance

Ryleigh has been waiting for this day since the end of the last dance last year. The paper finally came home and the date was set for this past Friday. The theme they were going with was Mardi Gras so of course, the hunt was on. We came across the sunglasses at Claire's and then the whole outfit was centered around them...from the flower barrette down to the Michael Kors sandals (yes, I said Michael Kors but it's ok, we got them at Marshall's ;-) She was so excited about going and truth be told, so was David. I won't get too mushy like I normally do, but my love for him grows more everyday with his love for our family. We are truly blessed and I am ever grateful.

As I was getting Rye dressed she says to me, "Mama, I'm so glad they do this and that the Daddy's get to go but I don't understand why they don't just do a dance for the girls because that's really who gets out there and dances the whole time" (Yes, because she's been to SOO many dances, right?) You should have seen the excitement on her face when I explained to her that once she gets to junior high there will be plenty of dances for her and her girlfriends. I could see the wheels turning and I know in her mind she was already planning what she will wear. Guess I better change my wine fund to a dress fund...
