Trimming the tree and decking the halls

Christmas time is here y'all and we're celebrating! It's definitely a little more exciting this year because Brielle can actually say Jesus and Merry Christmas haha!! It's been too cold and rainy outside for me to get a good picture of the lights on the house, but we've put up big multicolored lights. We're making our own family traditions and its been very special to me. We took Brielle shopping to pick out a few ornaments that she liked, and I must say that my child has great taste in decorations!  Here are a few ornaments that are our favorites:

Star of David with baby Jesus in the manger

Brielle liked this one... I'm guessing because it looks like candy!

A beautiful cross!

This was our first year to decorate the tree as a family! Last year, Brielle was only 7 months, so you can only imagine her joy & excitement when she actually saw the tree lit up. It was so sweet to see her place ornaments on the tree and play with the decorations. I must say that I definitely had a mommy moment and I was a little emotional because Brielle is not a baby anymore!!

Brian and I are trying to complete our Christmas shopping early... I tend to be one of those last minute shoppers on Christmas Eve lol! Each year I've tried to budget & structure my shopping because I have a tendency to go overboard. I know the true meaning of Christmas, but anyone who knows me, knows that I am a "generous" person as Brian calls it. I just love to give... and it doesn't have to necessarily be monetary.  I really want to stress this to my children and hopefully they too will have a giving heart. It's such a good feeling to bless others as you have been blessed!

I'm still working on our Christmas cards, but here's a sneak peek of our latest photo session:

Brielle is 18 months in these pictures... where has the time gone?! I love her!

Thankful. Humble. Blessed.

This time of year is my absolute favorite because I love spending time with family & friends, and reflecting back on the rest of the year. I'll try not to make this post too long and sappy, but I have so much that I'm thankful for and looking forward to in the future!

I first have to say how thankful I am to have a Savior that loves me, in spite of me. I know that I wouldn't be the person I am today without my relationship with Jesus Christ! Our church has given me so much in many ways to help me grow in His word. I'm thankful to have found a church that is perfect for me and my family.

Next, I am thankful for my AMAZING husband! I've been so blessed to have the perfect person to share my life with. I'm so thankful to God for giving me someone who understands me and supports me in everything I do. I don't think that any marriage is "perfect", but I am a firm believer that in a marriage, you should work as a team... the load is much lighter when it is carried by two. I have an awesome team-mate, and together we can make it through anything! I love you Brian!!

My precious Brielle... I thank God for you everyday! You are the sweetest child ever and my love grows for you every single day. Brian and I couldn't have imagined how amazing you'd be and how much you have changed our lives. I'm so thankful to have a career that allows me to be with you and take care of you. Thank you Lord for allowing us to be parents... It is truly the most rewarding thing in our lives! Maybe, we'll be blessed with more children someday soon ;-)

Our family has been simply amazing, and we're so thankful for them!! I don't even know where to begin, but I know we couldn't do it without our family. We thank you for your love and support! We love you all!

Speaking of thanks, we had a great Thanksgiving with family!! There was so much food and everything was absolutely delicious... it was a very blessed day! I didn't get too many pictures between traveling and chasing a toddler, but here's one of Brielle and my sweet niece Taia:

I just love these girls!!!

Pearls & Curls

Brielle is such a girly girl and I'm loving every minute of it!! I can honestly say that I think she She's growing up so fast and her features have matured overnight it seems! Lately, she's been extremely fascinated with her earrings. She's lost at least 4 pair because she plays with them when she gets sleepy. Well I decided that it was time for a new pair and I wanted to get something different since she's getting older. I took her to Claire's and we bought a pair of hypo-allergenic "pearl" earrings. I fell in love with them and they make her look so grown-up!

So I'm on the hunt for new hair products for Brielle... her hair is so curly and I'm searching for the right product to hold her curls, but also elongate them. The product I use now is called Mixed Chicks and it works great when it come to eliminating frizz and holding the curl. The downside is it tightens her curls so they don't fall as freely. Here's a picture of her hair fresh out of the bath:

This next picture is with Mixed Chicks in her hair... I'll have to take close up pictures next time so that you can really see the difference lol

Thankful Thursday

I have so much to be thankful for and I feel that life gets so busy sometimes, we forget how blessed we are and how each moment is truly a gift from God. This week, I'm particularly thankful for my healthy family and flexible career. All three of us have been battling with our allergies for weeks and I finally feel that the struggle is coming to an end!! Taking care of my two babies while I'm feeling under the weather is no easy task, but praise God we made though this pre-winter illness!! Just think, we still have the flu season to tackle ughhhh!
