About the Book:
Dr. Meredith Quinn always planned to return to Gossamer Falls to practice dentistry. Now that she’s back home, she’s made it a point to offer clinics to children and adults in nearby underserved areas. Unfortunately, those same areas are known to harbor drug traffickers, and Police Chief Grayson Ward suspects that local law enforcement is looking the other way.
After too many losses, Grayson has closed off his heart. But when Meredith enters his life, his walls crumble, and he’s left exposed and vulnerable. To keep her alive, he must keep her close, but that makes it impossible for him to retreat and rebuild. Will she be the one who finally helps him emerge from isolation? Or will this force of nature leave him shattered?

My Thoughts:
I thoroughly enjoyed Break My Fall! The setting of Gossamer Falls has been so engaging and really has me invested the characters in this community. There is so much love and support between the characters, it’s refreshing and makes their relationships feel really genuine!
This story is a slow burn, but in the best way! Meredith and Gray’s relationship was a long time coming! My heart was just breaking for her willingness to be vulnerable and lay her feelings on the line, even if it wasn’t openly reciprocated. I loved the behind the scenes turmoil that the reader sees in Gray until he comes to his senses and works through his past trauma. However, once his walls came down…watch out! That man was on a mission and it was fun to be along for the ride! With chemistry that sizzled and a fierce protectiveness that wouldn’t be tamed, Gray was absolutely a worthy hero! This book delivered an intense and action packed conclusion that really put these characters through the wringer. I loved this book! This series seems to be a softer side of suspense that focuses more of relationships and romance than every turn of the page danger and thrills and its completely working for me! The writing is thoughtful and forward moving without the need to sprinkle red herrings and near misses on every page. I’m here for it and this series is shaping up to be my new favorite from Lynn Blackburn!
