The Great Outdoors

Last summer we spent all of our time getting moved into our house, putting in a sprinkler system and getting grass. Well this year it was time for some funner stuff. We planted a garden and a strawberry bed. We build a swing set and a trampoline. We even did some landscaping and painted our front door. Our house is really starting to feel like home now.

Here is a picture of our house from last May.

Here is what it looks like now. Better ya?

Lexi had to pose with the house.

Lexi loves here new trampoline.

We actually put these stonepavers in last year but I don't think I have taken a picture of them before now. Hopefully after summer this year we can get some patio furniture for cheap.

Our strawberry bed and our rhubarb. Mmmmmm.

Our garden.

Lexi is most excited for her cantaloupe. I am proud to say that everything we planted has come up.

Lexi's new "park" or "tree house" as she calls it.

I love finally owning a home.

Smiles, Laughs, Rolls, Water, Food, Fun, and More!

It seems like we are always busy these days but that is okay with me cause we are having a good time and getting a lot of things done. For now we will focus on the fun. My next blog will be more on what we have been getting done. So here are a few (okay a lot) pictures of how we have been spending our time.

Here are the we are just getting ready for bed one night. Not sure why but I just love this picture.

Lexi is my social butterfly. She is always walking up to kids saying, "hi I'm Lexi. What's your name? Do you want to play with me." Well the other day she made friends with this little boy and it was love at first site. Lexi wanted me to take a picture and she decided they needed to be silly. As a result I have this picture of some boy I don't even know, but man does it crack me up.

Xander Learned to blow bubble the other day and I was able to get a picture of him in action at the park.

When I tried to put him in hes stroller he refused to sit. I might be more like his sister then we thought (i.e. stubborn).

There is a great duck pond near by that we love to go to. We took Lexi all the time last year. Now Xander can join in the fun.
Xanders first time "feeding" the ducks. Really he just watched them.

Lexi wanted to pet the "Lexi geese" aka kid geese. Things that are kids are "Lexis or sweeties".

She had to jump to throw the food in.

The other day we had some neighbor kids over to play. Xander was pretty happy just sitting around watching them.

I was pretty entertained to since this is what they were up too.

Have I mentioned that I love summer.

Summer + Neighbors + Water = Lots of fun

So Xander is only a little over four months but since he has such bad acid reflux we are a little anxious to get him on solids. He has started sitting a little bit and so on his four month b-day he got rice cereal for the first time. It took him a bit to get the hang of it but he is loving it now. He has had sweet potatoes and bananas too now. He loves sweet potatoes. To bad they stain everything when he spits them back up.

Lexi isn't the best at feeding Xander yet.

Just a fun random picture of Lexi.

We always have to have a picture of our babies like this.

One morning he was just full of smiles so I had to grab the camera and snap a few pictures. I love this kids smiles and his big dimples.

Here he is rolling over.

He he is laughing.

Finally here he is blowing bubbles. Enjoy!

Day 6 (Easter)

This Easter has probably been my favorite holiday with Lexi thus far. Why? Because she was so much fun. The Easter bunny came the night before and hid treats all over the family room. Lexi has to walk through the family room to get to our room. So on Sunday morning at about 6:45 she comes walking into our room with a big smile on her face and a Milky Way egg in her hand happily declaring. "Mom, mom there are treats all over the place and eggs too." Quickly, we all headed up stairs so she could begin her search for more treats. She had the best time as she ran around grabbing up everything she could find. Every time she saw a new one she would take of running with an excited sucking in of air and exclaim, "I found one." It was great. She was so excited and talked about it for week after. Let's be honest, she still talks about how the Easter bunny came and hid treats at her house. She even loved the princess tooth brush and princess tooth paste the Easter bunny hid. :) She got a lot of candy, so it was really nice of the Easter bunny to encourage her to brush all that sugar of her teeth. the encouragement worked cause she brushed her teeth about 4 times a day for the next two weeks.

She got a leapfrog tag too.

Happily showing off what she got.

Xander Chillin' with Lexi's goods.

The toy in his hand is what he got for Easter this year.

Based on the yawn I think it is safe to say that Xander was not impressed by Easter.

After the egg hunt it was time to break out the Easter dress Lexi has been dying to wear. She even asked for pretty hair. Luckily for us (insert sarcasm) since she was up at her usual early time, we had plenty of time to have a nice breakfast and give her fancy hair all before our 9:00 church. We even took the pictures before church. I wanted to get a nice picture of her in her pretty dress but she insisted on holding her new barbie, that her grandma sent, and sitting on her princess chair since she looked like a princess. Luckily the picture was still pretty cute.

After church we decorated eggs. Lexi had a great time and was actually quite good at using the little egg dipper.

We were trying to get Lexi to smile at the camera. This was her trying not to smile while dad made goofy faces.

She finally broke down.

Xander was pretty happy too while we were decorating eggs. But, we figured he wasn't quite ready to start dying them yet.

The kids were also pretty good at church so actually got to enjoy some of the nice Easter program. This Easter was a great one. I can't wait until next year.

A day with the Grow.

Sorry, I missed a couple of days but I am back on my quest to catch up on my blog. Here we go again.

Some of my favorite pictures are the weird crazy random ones. So this blog is dedicated to just that. A few pictures from our silly lives.

We have the best dog. Lexi is always dragging her around and making her pose for pictures, pretending she is Tess's mom, dressing her up, and so much more . For some reason I just loved this one. I think the look on Tess's face is the best part. ("Seriously another picture? Will she let go of my collar yet? What is she going to make me do next?")

Lexi loves her little brother and want to hold or cuddle him on a regular basis. It is just so cute.

This is a very typical seen in our house.

Lexi adores her cousin Hadley. One day while visiting I took them to the park and got some great shots. They had such a good time together. Don't miss the matching outfits. They were constantly trying to find cloths that kind of matched each other.

I did not pose them for this shot. They were racing down the slides, I told them to smile before they came down and this is what I got.

Lexi loves giving Xander a bath. The first few times we gave him a bath he peed on Mark and on me. Lexi thought it was the funniest thing ever. We quickly learned that an extra wash cloth is very helpful.

I know more smile pictures. He is just so cute I couldn't resist.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures. Mark was keeping the kids happy one night while I was making dinner. I had to get a picture. What a great dad!!!

So happy to have warm weather so she can ride her bike outside.
