Vail, CO

**If you click on any of the pictures they enlarge - you can better see the beauty of them if you do. Then just click the back button to come back to the blog!

While I couldn't live there forever (simply because I'm not sure what you'd do all day), I didn't want to leave. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Craig of course had to attend a conference... but Caleb and I enjoyed the luxuriousness of our hotel room and the surrounding little shops and natural beauties.

Our hotel was located right next to the lift for the ski slopes...and directly behind it was a little stream. Our room had a back door that we could walk out directly down to the stream and walk around the little shops. Across the stream on the hill we thought was all part of the ski lodge... come to find out they were homes... and not just nice homes ($16 million homes).

Enjoy:)

These first few images are the view from the back door of our room!

Here are a few of us! (You'll notice the long sleeves and the sweater... that's because it was supposed to be 50 degrees not 75! )

Vail is truly nothing more than hundreds of hotels stacked on top of each other up against the mountain...so at the bottom of them all are little shops and it is designed in such a european way it was a lot of fun.

This was the home directly in view from our back door. We thought it was the lodge...but no... one of those really nice homes... I was just in love with it. A girl can dream can't she!

The Rockies...

Well... once we were back on the right highway we ventured into the Rockies. If you thought the Gorge looked beautiful --- you are truly an appreciator of BROWNS! I told Craig right then he had to find a job somewhere in these Rockies.. the leaves were just starting to change colors and it was so beautiful. We drove past several abandoned mining towns along the way. I made him stop just so I could take pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

Travel Tales - Continued...(Trip #2)

After being home exactly a week we were off to a conference in Vail,CO to hear Craig speak. I was the official navigator - (from the back seat since it keeps the screaming to a minimum on long car rides). Somehow we missed the turn off and ended up in Toas instead of the highway that we should of been on.

But not too worry - (underdog is furry) sorry couldn't help myself. Craig has never seen the Toas Gorge - so I played it like I purposely took him that way to see it. It was a good thing it wasn't a large detour. And hey.. it's hard to watch the driver and take care of baby all from the back seat at the same time.

Here are my boys...

More of little Caleb...

Here are some of the actual Gorge.... just maybe you might want to see that too. :)

Pit Stop - Back Home

With all the traveling - we did manage to make a pit stop at home in between. While we were home Caleb and Sherman decided that they wanted to play with the same toy. I have to admit Caleb shares much better than Sherman. It was rather cute - even though it was just a box... it's good to know that Caleb can share! :)

***Editor's Note: I know I promised a whole bunch of everything... unfortunately things have been crazily busy and I am always seeming to be putting up new things at midnight or later. So it may take me some time, but I'll at least try to do one new post a day until I am caught up. Thanks to everyone for understanding.

Pizza Pizza

Craig only got to stay over the weekend... but Caleb and I stayed through Thursday ! We had some shopping to do in Park City! It was a blast.

Of course - one of our favorite things to do while we are in Utah is to stop at Dave's Pizza for a bite to eat. We thought it was time for Caleb to start working - Craig has been nagging him to get a job to help with rent for months now. Here is his first pizza... didn't go over so well. Maybe he'll wash cars! :)

Trip #1 - Destination Fruit Heights

Wow it has been a busy month. I have been everywhere it seems. I apologize it has been so long since I have posted pictures. I have a bunch for you. This is just the first installment. Since it is so late - I'll be updating the rest starting tomorrow...so Stay Tuned for more!!! (videos, pics, and funny stories)

The first of our travels for September was back home to Fruit Heights for the blessing of cousing Ryan. We actually flew! (This would be Caleb's 5th plane ride since birth - he's a traveling baby)

Here are a few of the pictures I took (or other family members took) at the baby blessing. Nicole's friend took other pictures that turned out adorable. You'll have to visit the Mark website to see them.

Let's Go Walk the Dog

Caleb has learned to hold on to Sherman's leash so we can all go get the mail!

My First Book

Well... the first book we've given him because it's plastic - and we all know the first place it ends up!!! THE MOUTH!

Reverently - Quietly

It is so funny to watch Sherman. He has to be wherever Caleb is. If he's on the bed - Sherman's on the bed. Caleb looks like he's ready for prayers here...and sherman in the background - What? It's my house too?

YUCK!!!

We are experimenting with various foods to see which might help our little angel - actually sleep through the night. He won't drink formula at all--- we went and bought several fruit flavors with oats or rice cereal already mixed in. This was our attempt with the peaches! He doesn't like them very much - it took about a week of consistent trials with this bottle before he finally finished it.
