Kaden's Shiner--Day Two

Image
This morning I woke up to his adorable little face with his black eye worse than it was yesterday. Poor kid. In a few days it will turn that gross yellow/green color. Maybe we should dress him up like a boxer instead of the UPS guy for Halloween. Or, maybe he could just be a UPS guy who hit his eye on a really heavy box. Either way, he is still pretty cute.

Shiner

Okay, so my "perfect model" face isn't so perfect anymore. Last night, Kaden was playing in the toy room and like always, was climbing all over everything. Well, we heard a crash and then crying. He was crying pretty hard, so Jerrod went in to get him. He was holding onto him for a little while until he looked at it and realized that it was a lot worse than just a bump. He had hit the corner of his eye (not eyeball) on the chair or table. It was bruised right away and started swelling a lot. We tried putting some ice on it, but of course, he wouldn't have it. This morning he woke up to his first black eye. A guy at the YMCA said, "Wow, Buddy, you've got a good shiner!" So, I guess this means that Kaden has been inducted into the "man" club already. Luckily, it didn't break the skin or hit his eye directly. The swelling has gone down some, but as you can see, he has some bruising there.

My Perfect Model

I just wanted to show off my handsome little boy, and the cute tie I made . :) I have been looking everywhere for a tie for him. I have realized that no one sells them for baby boys unless they are with a whole suit or unless it is Easter or Christmas. Well, I decided that I was going to make some. So, last night I made a couple of practices, and this morning I was able to whip up one that was just right . I love the pattern of this one and can't wait to make lots more of all different colors and designs. I am thinking of selling them once I get the real hang of it. I just think that there is a real need for them and if I can make them, why not sell them?! Maybe I will post a few on Etsy to see how it goes. I do have the perfect model for them!

Girl's Getaway 2009

Image
Cost of staying in this adorable beach house for a night: $15.00 ($100 split 7 ways) Chipping in for gas: $12.00 Eating fish and chips at The One Eyed Crab: $15.00 Spending the night with seven of your girlfriends and staying up WAY too late so that you can get your picture taken like this in the morning: PRICELESS (Thanks Shelbi!) On Friday, October 16th, me and six of my girlfriends from an old ward got together for a "Girls Getaway" to Westport, WA. We had the greatest time. Jerrod kept asking what we were going to do because it was rainy. He thought that we would just be bored the whole time. Well, we were definitly NOT bored. Lindsey is missing. (she was behind the camera.) We were all so excited to spend a fun night away from everything. We met for dinner and then drove to our final destination in Westport. We already had so much fun in the car that I knew that we were going to have a blast when we got there. When we walked in, Lindsey and Kristin had cute...

Good Day

Yesterday was a good day. My very good friend, Megan, surprised me with a special delivery of Ben and Jerry's Half Baked ice cream. She just knows how to put a smile on my face. Need I say more??!?! Thanks Meg! Later that afternoon, I went around with my advisor, Tyrell, to visit our Beehives. It is always stressful thinking that you may go to all of the trouble to make treats, fill out cards, and drive all over to find no one home, or people not happy to see you visiting their 12 or 13 year old. I will admit, I was fully prepared for the worst. Well, it was WONDERFUL!! We were able to visit with almost all of our twelve Beehives. The other two are scheduled for another day, and only one didn't answer the door! These girls are amazing. I loved being able to visit one on one with them, getting to know them better. We left each one with a prayer specifically for them. The Spirit was strong when we mentioned them by name in a plea to our Heavenly Father to bless the...

Our New Kitten

Image
We adopted a new kitten tonight. Kennedi found her at Wal-Mart. She is black and white. Kennedi named her Winco. She got mad at me when I almost dropped her in the parking lot. She is sleeping in Kennedi's room right now. ........................ She is Kennedi's first imaginary pet...probably not the last.

Our Little Pumpkins

Remember how much I love the Fall? Well, here is just another reminder. I LOVE THE FALL!! I love taking our kids to a pumpkin patch and having them run around from pumpkin to pumpkin, getting dirty and just having a good time. It was kind of cold last night, but we still had a great time! Maybe I love the Fall because the colors are great for photos! So, here are our photos of last night..... The kids loved riding in the wheel barrow. We have gone to Spooner Farms for the past 3 years. We love it and it is now our family tradition to go there every year. He saw Kennedi sitting on the pumpkins to get a picture, so he tried sitting on them and just fell between them! It was so cute. My little model just sat there waiting for me to take her photo. He was mad that I picked him up because he was busy picking up the hay and throwing it. We have this same photo with Jerrod and Kennedi when she was about the same age. Notice Kaden is on his tippy-toes ! He wanted the pumpkin so b...
