Saturday snap shots

I'd like to post pictures of our week on Saturdays so that I stay consistent with my blogging. For those that have Instagram this may be a repeat but for those that don't it'll be fresh and new.
We have great friends here in NOLA that keep us busy

Daniel LOVES to play any and all games.

These chairs were horrible but now I love them!
They make our kitchen so much better.
After much debate between the 5C or 5S I am happy I chose the 5C.
 Love me some pink!

After I cut his hair on Sunday D decided to 'fix' it Monday after school. I laughed so hard. We ended up having to buzz it all off and his bangs are still shorter.

Noah is the messy food king at our house.

Daniel and I got to support Daddy at his first play for school.
aFun date night with my little man.

Daniel got Student of the Month for his class.
I'm so proud of him for all his hard work.
And our post wouldn't be complete without a little crazy.

Long time coming

Well it's been awhile. Change came and went and came again and well we are stronger for all of it. I'd love to go into more detail about the last 6 months but that would take so much time and honestly I doubt I have any readers at this point. So this is just for my purposes and keeping track of my life. So here is the last 6 months in a nutshell:

  • Noah turned 1
  • Davids job came to an end opening up new doors and opportunities.
  • Grandma Leslie came to visit and helped us transition to our new place
  • We said goodbye to a house I will always love. We grew up in that house and learned to depend on one another. I have so many fond memories bottled up inside from that house we made our home.
  • We downsized and found a new less expensive place to live.
  • It was a rocky start, it was a mess, so DIRTY, no dishwasher basically the exact opposite of our previous house BUT things are feeling more like home here.
  • We took our time to figure out what we wanted to do and took a much needed trip to Utah
  • Within an hour of getting there D broke his leg
  • We didn't have insurance
  • We had just driven in the car for 31 hours.
  • I was really mad. Really mad.
  • We changed our whole trip to accommodate his broken leg and ended up staying for 3 weeks.
  • It ended up being a blessing that he broke his leg in Utah because there were so many people to entertain him and lots of space to roam around.
  • We loved every minute we spent with family
  • I got to visit my grandma in Idaho that I hadn't seen in over a year and introduce her to Noah
  • We got to go real camping
  • David helped work on his parents amazing new deck
  • As much as we wanted to stay in Utah we knew New Orleans was still a place we needed to be
  • Maggie turned 3
  • David was accepted into UNO for their Masters in Acting and Film (his emphasis is acting)
  • Everything fit into place perfectly to allow us to stay here and live comfortably while David attends school for the next 3 years.
  • We made it through our 3rd New Orleans summer (it gets easier each year)
  • Many of our closest friends here moved away to different parts of the U.S. It's been a rough transition.
  • I made it through 6 more months of sitting outnumbered in sacrament meeting. (Today they were good)
  • David and Daniel started school together. So much fun taking the first day of school pics
  • Daniel is in Kindergarten.
  • DANIEL IS IN KINDERGARTEN!!!! This was a hard adjustment. Its full day here and honestly I love it now but it was really hard for the first few weeks. He grew up way to fast. It doesn't help that he already acts like a 10 year old.
  • He can read and write and do simple adding subtracting and multiplication thanks to his daddy
  • His class is very mixed and he is making great friends
  • I get to go and help in his class every Friday afternoon. It's so much fun.
  • We started watching the cutest little baby, Atticus two days a week. My kids adore him and he is basically theirs.
  • Noah loves babies.
  • I've also been able to work for my dad from home  during nap time earning a little extra each month.
  • We took a fun family day trip to Pensacola and enjoyed the beach
  • We've enjoyed many days, nights in our new open backyard
  • We live at the park
  • We also live at the Bounce House
  • Maggie is taking on the role of "older" sibling. She isn't nearly as helpful as Daniel but hopefully with time we can change that
  • Maggie loves being able to pick a movie and have no one contradict her choice.
  • Maggie loves all things girl, make up, shoes, clothes, and is a tomboy at heart
  • Noah Is amazing. Everyday I thank God that he sent that amazing little man to our family
  • Noah also started Nursery. No Bueno
  • I discovered just how amazing spray paint is
  • The weather is PERFECT right now.
  • I now get cold when its below 70 degrees.
  • I was called to be the Activities day leader and its the best calling ever. I seriously love those girls.
  • Every day I try to write something nice about my children and everyday I go to bed thinking great things about them. Such a nice way to end even the hardest days.
  • The Lord is blessing us every day

I can look back on these last 6 months and see his hand in the way things have played out. While I wasn't always excited or happy about it at the time it really has been a positive Change for our family. I believe that this is a turning point for us, that years down the road we will look back on this time and see just how much God knew what we needed and when we needed it. Much like I now look back on the last 6 months. I am so grateful he is all knowing and I pray I can continue putting my faith and trust in him and his infinite knowledge.
God is so Good.
