Wet Blanket

My stupid dog peed on my bed yesterday when I was out and my pillow, bolster, quilt, mattress protector and mattress are all damp and smelly. Have just thrown all the washable items into the washing machine but I'm wondering what I should do with the pillow, bolster and mattress. Will sunning them make the smell or pee stain go away? Bad, Stupid Buffy! I'm still not talking to her.

I start work at 330pm today so I'm going to spend some time doing my QT and planning PTs for later (Have been reading up more about sports specific training recently). Will probably work out during my break from 430pm to 730pm.

I bought 3 autographed Neil Humphrey books for $39 on Tuesday - Notes from an even smaller Island, Scribbles from the same Island and Final Notes from a Great Island. If you don't already know who he is, he's an expat from UK and he writes about his funny experiences in Singapore from a foreigner's perspective. Have been thinking about getting his first two books for awhile. So, when his final book came out and there was a special bundle offer, I grabbed them. They would have cost about $15 each if I got them separately.

Planning to buy a pair of Birkenstocks today - $159. I think I might have described it before in my previous blog but I'll do it again - Double/Single/Triple Strap Slivery grey with crystals on the buckles. Sigh... the most classy pair of Birks I've ever seen. Oh, I haven't yet decided which type of strap to get. I'm a size 38.

I know it's cheaper to buy online but I tried the tobiasmayer website and they didn't have the design and colour I want - it's under Verona. I tried the Heidi Klum section too (nope, not the metallic sandals - too tacky) but couldn't find it either.

Anyway, if I buy it online, I'll end up getting 4 pairs (for free shipping - it's what makes the online purchase worth it. Otherwise you might as well just buy it from the store) which would cost me a lot more (about $300?) than if I just grabbed them at the store now...

I know... I'll be paying double for the sandals here when I can get two pairs if I get them online. Sigh, dilemma? Oh well, I can't help it if the sandals I want aren't available online. I'll just buy it here and try to make this my last purchase for 2006.

Enough for today.

P.S. Oh and I bought 2 pens for $8.10 when I bought the books.

(Gee.. as usual, my blog is turning into a confession box.)

2 Week Internet Feast

Muahahahaha! My brother is staying in camp for re-service so I get to use the internet for 2 weeks! Two whole weeks! And any time I like! Muahahahahaha!

Bought 2 bags from Esprit recently - paid only $90 after a 50% discount. What a steal! Gave one to my mom. Also bought the black Nike Free shoes last week from Queensway at $139 (it's retailing at $166).

Heard from a colleague that the brown Nike shell-like backpack is also going at 50%. Sigh...

Okay, going to do my quiet time before I sleep.

Life of Late

Only moderately busy with work this month but haven't logged on since I last blogged. I'm seldom at home in the day and when I finally get home at 9 or 10 plus, my brother will be playing his online games. As such, I don't get to use the internet much.

I see my baby about 3 or 4 times a week - once or twice during the week and over the weekends. He's also in the same industry so we both understand how tiring work can get. Most people in normal office jobs finish at about 6pm but we're stuck at the gym until about 9pm most weekdays.

Sometimes (most of the times for him), we start as early as 7 in the morning which means we need to get up at 5:30am. I usually have clients coming in throughout the day (11am/12pm/4pm/6pm-9pm) so going home to rest in between is not possible even though I often get 3 or 4 hour breaks in between.

Nowadays, I try to spend my free time working out but in the past I used to go shopping. I've been spending a lot more on shopping since i started working in Orchard. I'm trying not to shop too much cos even though I'm earning more, I haven't been saving much. Sigh... so many things to buy and so little money.

Have recently given myself a daily meal budget of $10 for two reasons. Firstly and more obviously, to save money. And secondly, to control my eating habits. I love food (I'm human) and can eat a great deal if I want to so having a budget controls the amount I eat. Pretty challenging but fun.

Every week, I try to do cardio 3 times and strength training twice. That, plus the meal budget, should be enough to get me to my target by December.

1 August 2006

Important date to remember :o)

It took me over 8 months to realize that the person I've been looking for was beside me all this while.
