Well, I'm finally backtracking a bit to update about September. I thought I'd better get to it before October is over with!
Our month started out with an injury. Kyle hurt his arm while he was in the bike trailer. He figured out how to get his arm through a small space in the canvas and then stick it into the spokes on the wheel. Luckily Brad stopped pedaling as soon as he heard something in the wheel. Kyle's arm had quite a bit of skin that had come off, but it wasn't broken or bleeding. We kept it bandaged up for about two weeks. It has healed nicely. He has a scar, but it looks a lot like Sarah's white knee. I think the coloring will even out over the next 6-9 months. He still touches his arm though anytime we mention an "owie".

Next came the first day of school. Sarah started about a week before Chloe because of Kindergarten orientations. She was very excited, but a little bit nervous as well. She was glad to get to ride the bus with our neighbors Britney and Lexi. Britney also showed her where her classroom was. She came home very excited about being a second grader! Her teacher's name is Mrs. Posanzza. I hope I spelled that right! She has made some good friends as well. Including Crystal, her fake twin. They really do look a lot alike. One of these days I'll have to get a picture of them. Even their teacher mixes them up a bit.
The weekend after Labor Day we went camping for a night with Brent and Ashley. We had a lot of fun. We ate lots of Cheetos and drank orange soda - it was an orange junk food night. We also made smores over the campstove - there was a burn ban on all fires. They still turned out good though! We were at Belfair State Park, which would have been awful if it had been crowded. The sites were pretty small. But it wasn't crowded at all so it was great. Kyle got really dirty and we were glad that we put him in his overalls! We were by a small creek as well, and the girls had fun wading and collecting some more rocks. They learned how cold creek water can be! We decided though that next time we need to go for more than one night.
Then on Monday came Chloe's first day of school! She was so excited to get to ride the bus with the other girls and to see what school was all about. She wore her special outfit with animal print skirt, headband, and backpack! Even her boots had animal print on the inside. So far she is really enjoying Kindergarten and is learning to read at lightning speed! I guess I shouldn't have been too worried about her not reading before. I always thought she could do it, but she seemed to be lacking the will to try. Now she must think that since she's in school she can do it, because she is doing awesome!
Our month ended with a brief visit from Grandma and Papa who came by on their way through the Pacific Northwest. We had a nice time walking through downtown Port Orchard and seeing a few of the local sights. We even played Mexican Train. Sarah loved getting to play with the grownups! She's definitely their granddaughter because she loves games!!!
Well, I think that is all. Now we can move onto October....
