Meet Little Man!

So here are some pictures of Little Man - the newest member of our family. We adopted him from the Humane Society on March 17th, St. Patrick's Day. I don't think we'll have a problem remembering when we got him! Chloe is thilled - although she got her first scratch today and now realizes how painful that can be. Brad also discovered that she put a Build-a-Bear veil on him earlier (as a cape) and so we had to talk about how we don't dress up living animals. I know there are people out there who do, but WE don't!
Anyway, he's very friendly and loves it when we pet him. He purrs a lot - and it's loud! He seems to really like it here.

My plant is growing!

So I just remembered a cute thing Chloe said tonight. We were in the van heading over to the church for a Primary meeting. Brad and Sarah were heading out to Tacoma for an Easter choir concert put on by Brad's friend Ken Owen from high school.

Anyway, Chloe said that she hoped that they would be safe and then asked if we could say a prayer. I said sure and asked her to say it. She did a great job praying and then as we pulled out of the driveway said, "I think my plant is growing!"

I was looking around the yard as we pulled out thinking maybe she'd planted some seeds somewhere that I wasn't aware of so I said, "Oh yeah, what plant?" And she said, "You know, the one inside of me that turns into a testimony! I think it's growing. We all have this little seed inside of us that can grow and sometimes it turns into a testimony and gets big and strong." Well, that just melted my heart! You can't get moments much better than that!

(The picture is of Chloe with some radish seeds. Gma and Gpa Brown sent her a bunch of seeds and gardening supplies for her b'day.)

Chloe's b'day pictures

Here's Chloe surrounded by her gifts. She'd been wanting to open them all day and had to wait until about 6:00 pm. Patience pays off!
This is Chloe on the inflatable slide at her b'day party we did the Saturday before. There was a small obstacle coarse that began just to the left of the slide that led around to where they climb up to slide down. The kids all loved it! There was also a bounce house that they played in as well.

Here is Chloe with her birthday pudding. We did chocolate and vanilla with cool whilp. Chloe got pink sprinkles as well. Yummy!

Here is Chloe's birthday dinner. Pizza!!!! Brent and Ash came over to celebrate with us. We all love pizza! It was a great time!

Yes, I know, these are totally out of order, but it is night time and I'm too tired to care to fix them. This is Chloe with her candles in her cupcake at her party. The other kids in the picture are Brayden (being held in the background) then l-r Kira (her best bud from school), Chloe, Emily (her best bud from church) and Clarke (her best bud who lives next door and is always trying to love on her). Then of course there's me with the flaming torch!
Enjoy!

High speed rocks!!

Hooray! We finally have high speed internet! Now there will be no more excuses for me not to get down here and update our blog! But I think that is the only down side to this. I'm so glad to be on the web and not have it shutting down on me or taking forever to load something. I was able to look at a couple of other blogs tonight and actually see the pictures because I didn't have to wait for 30 minutes for them to download. I love it!

Over the next few days I will work on getting pictures on here from Chloe's birthday and the newest member of our family - Little Man. He's the cat that we finally got for Chloe. Since we've been telling her for years now that she could have a pet when she turns 5, then putting it off for a whole year after that, we couldn't make her wait any longer. In fact, the day before we got Little Man she said to us, "So... How about that cat?" Then she followed it up with an offer to help pay for him with her b'day money. So thank you to all who gave Chloe b'day money because she now finally has the pet she's been waiting for!

Our next awesome high speed internet thing is to see if we can hook the computer up to our TV and then WATCH General Conference from home! For those of you who live in Utah, you may not realize that we have to either have a sattelite with the BYU channel or we actually have to go to the church to watch conference. We've been listening to it over the web the past couple of years because sitting at the church for that long is not an easy thing to do with 3 kids. It's hard enough to listen to it at home. We are very excited to see if this will work out!!!!

Brad's b'day pictures

Okay, so here are some of the promised pictures from Brad's b'day. I 'm finally getting around to adding them on...

We first celebrated Brad's birthday as a family. The kids were excited to give him some presents. He got a Sawzall (those things will cut through anything!) An angle finder (not the exact kind he'd been thinking of -but he neglected to tell me the specifics) and a space heater for our downstairs and garage. I think he likes his presents. I know he also used the money he got from his parents to buy an angle grinder which he has been using quite a bit on his motorcycle that he's rebuilding.

The girls had helped me to quickly decorate that morning before they went off to school and before Brad got up (he had the day off of work). They really liked the balloons and Chloe learned a lesson on static electricity!
Brad and I went on a date the next day (Saturday) with Brent and Ashley. We were celebrating both of their b'days. Brad's was on Friday the 23rd and Brent's was on Sunday the 25th. Ash and I hatched a plot to take them to the Museum of Flight by surprise. It stayed a surprise until we got off the ferry and turned south on I-5. Then Brad guessed where we were going.

This is a pic of Brad and I on the ferry. I was feeling like it was nap time - Brad makes a good pillow. :)

Neither of us girls know a lot about airplanes so we thought it might be fun to do it together. That way, the boys would have someone to talk about who would understand all the lingo and we would have someone to laugh at the silly boys with. We capped off the day by having dinner at P.F. Chang's (yummilicous chinese food) and grabbing dessert to take home from The Cheesecake Factory (you can't go wrong there!). We had a great time!

This is Brad next to a GeeBee. He's already built one RC airplane, but has plans to build another one like this. He may be a few years away from it though. The projects keep piling up around here! He's got the motorcycle, the Jeep, the fence, the playground, and various inside-of-the-house projects.

Laundry...

So today is laundry day. Thursdays usually are. I think I'm getting to where I can't do all the laundry on one day anymore. Well, I guess I'm already there, because I have to do the towels on a different day. But as I was sorting it all out earlier I realized that I had 6 loads to do and I'd already done one load of sheets. That makes 7 loads in one day. A little overwhelming, especially since I really didn't get started until noon. I've always liked being able to do it all on one day and then having it "done" for a week, but maybe now that there are 5 of us, and Kyle's clothes aren't so tiny any more I need to rethink my system. Le sigh...

The reason I didn't get my laundry going until noon was that I went to pick out some new eyeglasses today. My eye appointment isn't for another 2 weeks, but I had a coupon for a discount so I needed to go in this week in order to utilize it. I took Ashley with me for my second opinion. I think we found some cute ones. And I'm actually going to get sunglasses as well. My first prescription sunglasses - after 22 years! (Okay, so that makes me feel old. But really I've been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade.) My eyes are getting tired of wearing contacts much quicker these days. But if I'm outside I really need sunglasses. As soon as I got home I thought that maybe we should have taken the camera and snapped some photos so that I could show Brad what I've picked out. But well, that would have taken some forethought and planning, and I don't seem to do much of that lately!

We had our Activity Days last night. We had 7 visitors/new girls. (Usually we have 8 girls total.) Plus Sarah, Chloe, and Kyle. (Brad was at the church getting some training for his new calling.) We were in the gym doing different kids of jump rope (which I think is partly why we had so many visitors). It was a lot of fun though! We brought Lexi, our neighbor, then picked up Liana who lives near by, then went to pick up Ryan. Ryan was invited by the missionaries, who are teacher her mother. When I said that we were picking up a girl named Ryan, Lexi said, "Hey, I have a Ryan in my class! I wonder if it's the same girl?" Sure enough, it was! They were so excited to see each other! It was really a blessing that Sarah invited Lexi and that I was asked to pick up Ryan.

And have I mentioned how Kyle is totally obssessed with Cars (the movie)? He askes to watch it as soon as he wakes up (morning or afternoon). He will watch the whole thing from beginning to end without hardly leaving the room. The other day he came into my room twice to give me a kiss and say hi, but then ran right back to see Mamer (Mater) and Queen (Lightning McQueen) - KaChow! He also likes to tell us their names when he sees their pictures on his cups - Dah (Doc Hudson), Lalee (Sally), and Fehfuh (Sherrif). It's pretty cute. He could talk about them all day!

Well, that's all for today. Sorry no pictures again. When I get some extra time I do have photos from Brad's b'day date that I'll add onto his b'day post. So feel free to recheck that one later on!
