Emma turns 6 months old

One month and one day ago, Emma turned 6 months old.  (Time flies!)  She had just learned to sit up.  One of her new favorite spots to be was on a blanket surrounded by toys.  Here is a deluge of pictures that I took on her half birthday.  She is definitely one of the 5 cutest babies* of all time!

Those eyes!  Those cheeks!  Have you seen enough yet?  I haven't!  ;)

*The other 4 of the top 5 were Sarah, Chloe, Kyle and Aaron, of course!

And then we celebrated the best dad ever

aka Brad!  (Yes, I'm still working on my catch-up posts.)

Kyle sat next to Brad while he opened his gifts.  He got black licorice,

a dutch oven,

tennis balls,

and some homemade cards.  This one was made by Chloe.

This one was made by Sarah.  It included some babysitting coupons.  (Yay!)

And then the boys, not to be outdone, ran into the kitchen and made some impromptu cards for Dad.  Here is Aaron telling about what he's drawn.

And Kyle doing the same.

Also not to be outdone, Chloe made another one too.

Sarah loves her dad!  (Blurry photo courtesy of Aaron.)

Emma loves her dad too, but she happened to be sitting with me that evening (and chewing on the camera case).

A post about girls

The girls had their piano recital at the end of June.  Sarah played Cristofori's Dream by David Lanz, which she now has memorized and Chloe played March by Shostakovich.  Here they are after the recital with their teacher.  We love her!

Another picture of the girls, this time with one of their friends.

Sarah had a solo in EPO's honor choir year end performance.  I tried a while ago to post a video of it, but it wasn't downloading.  Some of her Beehive class came to watch her sing.  Afterwards, we took the girls to McDonald's for some ice cream.

They all chose the Rolo McFlurries and then ooohd and ahhhd over their caramel. Silly girls!

Kyle had a birthday...

...almost two months ago.  But look!  I took pictures to prove it!
Our 6 year old!

His main cake request?  A #6 candle.  You got it, kiddo!

Kyle's primary teacher, Sis. Campbell brought over his very own special cake.  It looked VERY tasty!

One of the presents he was excited about.  The same Imaginext plane that his friend Owen has.

Ash and Brent gave him this crayon holder for church.  Ash made it.  It is awesome.  I think she needs to do a tutorial on her blog.  What do you think?

A few days later, Kyle had his friend party.  He chose an Iron Man theme.
We asked the boys to wear a red shirt if they had one.  We taped an arc reactor to their chests and gave them each a mask.  Here they are giving us a repulsor blast.  (Is it sad that I now know all of these terms?)

Some silly boy smiles

We played several relay race type games and put together some Iron Man puzzles in small teams. Mostly though, the boys just ran around in the yard.  We were so happy that the sun came out in time for Kyle's party!

One more game... pin the arc reactor on Iron Man.

The party cakes.  Sarah helped me make them and let me use some of her gel food coloring.

Mmmmmm... food coloring!

He got lots of fun gifts from his friends, including some new books to read.
We are sure glad to have such an awesome 6 year old in our family!  We love you, Kyle!
