I am soooo far behind! Seriously, I've got 1000 things to do. Like putting away our Halloween decorations. Yes, it is mid-November and we are still looking pretty festive for the wrong holiday. But, onward! (They are put away now. This post has taken me over a week to write!)
My mom and I took the kiddos up to Sequim (pronounced w/o the E, like squim, rhyming with whim) to the Olympic Game Farm. Several of my friends have gone there this year and I decided it was finally time for us to go too. It was great!
The first thing we did when we got there was have lunch. They have a little cafe/hot dog stand and the food was actually pretty good. While we were eating lunch, we all saw this chicken (who had escaped from the petting zoo area). After hearing Chloe declare what a cute chicken it was, Aaron said, "Oh! I thought it was a baby lion!" hahaha! Not quite, little buddy!
Kyle loved walking the bear prints around the entrance sign.
Chloe loved all of the flowers and so I snapped this picture of her next to this HUGE dahlia. So pretty! (Both Chloe and the dahlia.)
Shortly after driving into the farm, there was a stop near these horses. I think Chloe could have stood next to that fence all day long and been totally happy.
The kiddos were excited to get to drive around without their seat belts on. We eventually freed Emma.
Our first close-up encounter, a llama!
As we were driving along Kyle said, "Wow! Look at those cool sprinklers!" Um, okay.
These yaks were getting into a fight. We paused to watch them (and stay out of their way) and also got a bit of a birds & the bees type show. That was fun to explain. We finally drove carefully, but a little quickly, past these guys. They were really making me nervous.
The bears were oh-so-cute! When viewing them from the safety of our truck, with a fence besides, it is hard to think of these guys as dangerous. They look so soft and playful.
An albino peacock. Chloe thought this was cool because there are some albino peacocks (or maybe it's just one) in Harry Potter. Anyone remember where? :)
We were rule-minders and didn't take any pictures through the section with elk and such. Then we had to drive throught the whole place again because it was so awesome.
We stopped again by the horses and this old airfield tower. The boys especially loved running through the tower and looking out over the Game Farm.
Okay, so Chloe loved it too.
Run, Aaron! Run!
While Emma and I were walking around down below she thought she'd check out some dirt. It IS dirt, not poop, I promise!
She wasn't too thrilled with how it made her hands dirty. So I would brush her off and then she'd do it all over again. I think we did this upwards of ten times before I called it quits.
And to prove my mom was there with us...
We are looking forward to going again sometime and taking Brad!
