"You're Right, Honey"
So, Shelbie woke up yesterday morning at 5:30am. I knew she was going to be tired early but she didn't get out of school until 2:15pm and then we wouldn't have time for a nap because we needed to babysit for a friend and they would be playing the whole time. So, after her friend left she fell asleep at 4:30pm. To told Scott that she would most likely be down for the night and wake up around 3am or something. But I told him that she would just jump into bed with us and go back to sleep knowing that it was the middle of the night....This I said because she has always done that in the past. Well, needless to say that she did not just go back to sleep but wanted to get up. (she tossed and turned with us in our bed for an hour) So, I got up with her and we read books and now she is watching a movie. (it is currently 4:30am) SO, Scott, you were right! She did not go back to sleep like I thought. I think I will keep her home from school and give her a good morning nap to try and get her back on schedule. :-) I don't think I will do that again, although I am wide awake and ready to do things around the house but I can't cause Scott is still sleeping....Have a nice day!

A Miracle Morning

So, Shelbie has "issues" with pants these days and it is so hard to get her into them with out a fit being thrown so we have just opted for the tights and skirt style to keep her warm when it is chilly....but this morning she volunteered to wear pants because she said she was cold and needed to wear them today. Yipeee!!

Halloween!
We had a lot of fun this year for Halloween. First we visited the pumpkin patch in HB, then we visited the pumpking patch at Irvine Regional Park (forgot camera that day), then went to our ward halloween party, then we went to the special Halloween Trick or Treat event at California Adventure (she was a cowgirl) and then we had a fun party at Shelbie's school. So, here are the following pictures that correspond to the events previously mentioned!
PS - No trick or treating tonight...we are halloweened out!

Preschool Starts!

Shelbie started preschool and will go until the end of the school year. She got her same teacher that she had during the summer session and she likes her and her aides. Here she is on her first day back! She totally loves her new rolling back pack.
I love that she goes to school. She loves to play and I really think she enjoys learning things in a classroom setting and doing it with her friends. I also enjoy it because I get 3 hours (5 on Wednesdays) to come home and rest after a few little chores. I am really taking things easy while I carry these twins cause of my "condition" (which really isn't that bad but I am taking no chances!)
I miss her, though, while she is gone...my sweet little girl...she makes me so happy!!!
Shelbie's New Bike
Camping at "Wente Scout Reservation" in Willits, CA
Wente (went-ay) is a very favorite camping tradition in the Ferguson family. We grew up camping here every summer since I was 3 years old. There are so many fun things available to do like: Sailing, rowboating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, and they have a shot gun range, a rifle range (22's), and an archery range, they also put on a camp-wide campfire with fun entertainment. There is a trading post where you can buy snacks and fishing gear or whatever...a favorite to buy at the store was mint chocolate chip It's-it, Jolly Rancher stick candy, and large Otter Pops. The 80-acre lake is just beautiful and the whole area is quite peaceful. Here are some pictures of our little family's first time camping here. I haven't been camping here since I graduated from college and it was so fun to share this special place with my husband and daughter. My parents, my two brothers and their families and my family enjoyed this fabulous weekend together.

This is Camp Wente. This is a picture of the waterfront area with the sailing dock on the left (those are the masts with the sails wrapped around them), canoes on the racks in the middle and the swimming docks to the right. The lifeguard tower is in the middle. Our campsite "Wishbone Right" was just a little ways up a hill behind the lifeguard tower in the trees.

Shelbie is waiting while someone else uses the kid fishing pole to fish from the shore.

Now it is Shelbie's turn.

Grand Dad is fishing with his very cute grandkids! (personally I think Billy is the cutest of them all!!)

Here is a nother shot of fishing...this time Scott has joined in the fun.

I think the favorite activity of the whole place is enjoying the water. The weather was very pleasant and the water cooled us off nicely.

A boy found a garter snake and Shelbie was very excited to hold it. There were lots of small garter snakes and frogs found among the "cattails" during the weekend.

My dad and I went sailing for a little bit...this is not us, but we used that laser. We sailed the old "racing route" for good times sake. It was so fun to do that again!

Kayaking is relativly new to Wente and everyone seems to enjoy it. Shelbie fell asleep during this ride. It was very peaceful out there.

One morning Scott and I took Shelbie on a rowboat. She enjoyed hanging over the edge and touching the water as we went. Mornings and evenings are the most calm for rowing...if you want a workout you can row in the afternoon wind.

Scott enjoyed doing archery. He hadn't done it in a long time also, since Scout camp several years ago. We don't have pictures of Scott doing Shot gun or shooting the rifles at the rifle range but he enjoyed those as well. At the rifle range he shot all ten bullets in the bulls eye ten times! I think that was his favorite thing this weekend. What a shot!!!
.
Everyone but my mom and I walked over to the archery range. The littlest kids were too scared to try to shoot the bows and arrows but they loved helping gather the arrows at the end.

Shelbie borrowed Aunt Erika's hat for a little bit...it made for a very cute picture!

Here we are gathered for breakfast at our table. This was a peaceful morning together. The other cousins woke up pretty early and they went out fishing. We'll catch up when they get back to go swimming.

Shelbie's 1st Real Dentist Appointment
Well, I forgot to bring the camera to Shelbie dentist appointment. She did exceptionally well and actually had a really good time. She loved when they took pictures of her teeth and when they did x-rays. I thought it was cool to see her permanent teeth up there. She even enjoyed it when she got her teeth polished and loved swishing around the flouride treatment. She got a special token for being so good and the token is good for a prize in the machine (like the candy machines at the grocery stores). If anyone is looking for a great pediatric dentist I highly recommend this one www.teddybeardental.com
Oh Yeah! She is cavity free!!!
