I am not ashamed to say that my kids watch TV every morning.

Scott: Scotty, do you want to help me clean up the front room?
Scotty: No
Scott: (under his breath) that's smart
Scotty: (apparently heard him) Yeah, smart and Kmart smart

My kids love watching cartoons & apparently they learn what the commercials have to say, too! :-)

SUPER MOM

I just woke up!! Yippeeeee! It's 7:45am. Anyway, I have a dream fresh in my mind I want to share.

I was called up to the podium by a "juice-it-up" employee and asked "What makes you Super?" This is what I said:
"Every once in a while I will sit down and assess my life. 'Am I happy being a stay-at-home mom or would I be happy if I went out and got a job?' I always conclude that I am happiest when I am with my kids even if we are poor and even if I am not perfect in raising them and even if I am impatient sometimes. I can handle that. I love being with my three little kids all the time. And that...is what makes me SUPER!!!!!"

Veteran's Day

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!

While my dad was in training in San Diego he had this picture taken. I think it was 1968. They got married a year later just before he went over seas.

Our elementary school has a great Veteran's Day celebration. The students can invite a veteran who is a friend or relative to come and participate. Shelbie invited her Grand Dad. It was a wonderful day. After the principal had the Veteran's introduce themselves they each went into a classroom and talked to the class about what they did to help protect our country.

My dad served in the Navy as a communications officer. He went to Guam and Okinawa and Vietnam. While in Vietnam his ship was up in the Mekong Delta as a support/repair ship for the little boats that did the fighting up the rivers of the delta. One time the Viet Cong bombed his ship and it blew a 12'x30' hole in the side. My dad was fine but there was one person that died from that. He didn't see much fighting because he was in the "radio shack" a lot of the time. He did have some great adventures on his time off, too.
