The Smith Six

This was a conversation we just had 5 minutes ago about Shelbie's upcoming birthday beach party.

Dad: Shelbie, we can't have too many kids because the beach isn't the safest place to have a party for kids.

Shelbie: Why

Dad: Kids can drown in the ocean.

Shelbie: Daaad..we won't be going in the ocean cause it will be like (air quote) freezing (end air quote)

Mom to Dad: She just used air quotes...

Shelbie: I use air quotes all the time...its just my style...(the later part of that sentence was said in a tone which was almost that condescending under your breath but not really tone. Like if you are trying to get the last word in on an argument and you are kind of saying it through your teeth breathing in. Yes, very confusing, but if you know what I am talking about, it makes perfect sense.)

Anyway, we love her!

Scott's mom had a big birthday this year! We thought it would be cool to get her an avocado tree since the last one died when they moved it to build the bonus room.


The kids made cards and gave her chips & avocados as a hint for what was awaiting her in the yard.
