It's Christmas time once again

Happy holidays, dear family and friends! It's hard to believe that "It's Christmas time once again." "Another year over, and a new one just begun." Time seems to speed up more and more each year! I’ve gotten away from Christmas letters over the years, either putting things here on our blog or trying to summarize on a card only. Maybe I’ve been rebelling or just recovering after writing all those support letters back in the day, haha. But 2024 held enough milestones and memories for our family that it is a good idea to list a summary-- for our own memory's sake, as well as to share with you. So, please read on for the “lights,” both high and low, of our year, as well as the digital version of our Christmas card for 2024: JANUARY: -We kicked off the year with a fun trip to Estes Park, Colorado. We love the holiday lights there, and Estes has always been a special spot for our family.  -Rosa turned 12! FEBRUARY: - Pearl turned 16 and got her driver’s lic...

Slipping Through My Fingers

Hello, dear blog.  It has been a while! Last we wrote, we were in the midst of joyful summertime.  Now fall has already come and gone-- oh how time flies, whether you're having fun or not.  Though we are having some fun! This will probably be somewhat out of order, because summer has flown by and I don't know which way is up anymore.  But, it has been a terrific summer of watching our kids grow up into independent, adventurous, and caring individuals, and we've had a great time building memories with them!  Here are some highlights: We did a horse show!  Pearl and Duchess rode in a "western dressage" show and had a great time!  It's so fun to see Pearl's hard work pay off!  And Duchess is such a sweet and fun horse :)  We got a new puppy!  This is Rosa's beagle, Bandit.  He is a hilarious Craigslist treasure-find, just like ol' Amos was a happenstance Walmart parking lot find.  I think the best pets come to us in the strangest ways.  We will always miss Amos, but it is healing to add a new little buddy in his memory now.  Bandit seems like a smart pup who will be a good friend for Rosa.  And he and Pepper are getting along great, too!  It'...
