Video Games Live

A month ago Laura found out about a show that Abravanel Hall was hosting with the Utah Symphony, called Video Games Live.  She invited me and we got tickets for our hubbies for Christmas.  The show was really awesome.  They played songs from lots of different video games and showed video of the games on a screen behind it.  It was so fun to be with Matt and Laura and have Claire and Bob babysit Lincoln so we could go.  Thanks!

Lyla Van Bibber Shower

Over Christmas break, on the 28th, Andrea and I threw a shower for my cousin, Hannah.  She is due in April with a darling daughter, Lyla.  I am so excited for her and I know that she will be such a fabulous mom.

We had the shower at Andrea and Deven's fabulous home and almost everyone was able to make it.  We love her so much and can't wait for her to join the ranks of motherhood, cause it really is the best ranking of all.

{3}

3 years ago today I married my best friend and it has been such a blast!!  We got married the 27th of December in the Salt Lake Temple on a beautiful day...
I loved our wedding day...
 He's so cute!
3 years later we live in Orem, have a baby, and Brett is doing his PhD.  What a crazy 3 years it has been!
To celebrate our anniversary we went to dinner in Ogden at Zucca and got incredible meals.  We both wanted Lasagna and Pizza so we split (the beauty of being married, you gettin' share meals).  The food was so good.  We topped it off with dessert because hey, it was our anniversary :)
We asked our waiter if he could take a picture for us and he responded "I hope I can"...well Sir, I wish you could have too because this is what we got ha ha good picture, right??
After dinner we went to the Junction in Ogden and saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.  It was so good!!  We loved it.

Happy 26th Brett!

Brett's birthday was truly a birthday bash!!  I can't believe this amazing man is 26 years old.
For his birthday Lincoln and I got him an ipod, headphones, shoes, and backscratchers.
We went to Tonyburgers with my family for lunch to celebrate...

And Jason's Deli with Brett's family to celebrate...

And finished it off with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins...
And then some xbox hockey with the gang.

Christmas

Christmas day was exceptional.  We spent the morning at my parents home opening presents, eating a yummy breakfast, and playing with our new toys.
Alaina looked so darling and ready for Christmas!
Lincoln played lots with Papa and Nana...
And Brett and Trevor played with Brett's new helicopter...
 And Lincoln loved it all...
We joined my parents for church and after went over to the Mellors.
We played with the Christmas Bells and got really good!!  I'm thinking next year we'll do a concert.... :)
After bells we opened some awesome gifts and then enjoyed a fabulous dinner.
It was so great!!
Then we went to my parents to talk to Josh!!  It was so amazing to hear his voice and get to talk to him.  I miss him so much and it was so wonderful to hear from him.  We all hovered around the phone to hear his voice...

The perfect Christmas.  Thanks to our parents for making it such a special Christmas Day.

Christmas Hangouts

Over Christmas break we met up with some of Brett's close friends from high school.  Mike and Tara Crookston came over to the Mellors and we talked and ate yummy food.  They brought their darling little boy and the boys played for a long time.
Jeff Cloward also stopped by to say goodbye before he leaves for Texas.  It was fun to hang out with them and for Carter and Lincoln to start their lifelong friendship.

turkey

After years of fear, hours of online research, and 24 hours of thought, preparation, and 2 1/2 hours of cooking, my first turkey turned out perfect!!  I couldn't be more proud. (Plus, it was FREE!!)
That's all.
Here's to turkey sandwiches, lots of turkey to freeze, and turkey enchiladas tomorrow night.

thursday....

We are all sick.  The bubonic plague has struck the Mellor household with terror.
No, but seriously we all have colds and it stinks.  Poor Lincoln has a constant stream of green goo coming from his nose, poor little guy.  He is army crawling everywhere and he is so darling.  He is just my little buddy that pals around with me.  Today he ran errands with me for Christmas stuff.  He is the best.  People always stop me and tell me how darling they think he is.  At Winco a couple weeks ago I got a turkey for spending 100 bucks and right now it's cooking in the oven. I'm so nervous.  I have never cooked a turkey before and I hope it turns out!
Holly took this picture in the summer and I love it.

The End.

1. December is upon us!
2. Turkey in the oven!
3. New phone :)

There is so much to love about Thanksgiving.  Just to name a few:
Going to Aunt Connie's for a wonderful feast and getting to see my 89 years and 11 months-year-old Grandpa and wonderful cousins...
Getting to stay at my parents and watch lots of movies, play lots of games, eat lots of yummy food, hang out, and shop....
And watch this little guy enjoy his first Thanksgiving turkey. :)  Hope your Thanksgiving was as fantastic as mine.
