LAS VEGAS RAGNAR

The pictures are all jumbled up but this is our Las Vegas Ragnar.  Woot! Woot!  We started out by driving down to St. George the night before.  Had dinner, went to Walmart and then went to bed way too late.  Van 1 got up at 4 am on Friday morning and drove another 2 hours to get to the starting point.  And off we went!  Chad started us off at 7:30 and we just kept on running for the next 32 hours.

This is Chad.  Doesn't he look excited?  Before he started his last leg his foot was hurting so bad that he could barely walk.  He was a trooper though and made it through.  A couple of weeks after the race he went to the doctor and turns out he had a stress fracture so he is in a boot for four weeks.  The things we put our bodies through!
The guys totally killed it!  I think Preston did 7 miles in 59 minutes, Dave did 7.3 miles in 1 hour 5 minutes and Micah did 4.8 miles in 36 minutes.  The girls didn't do too bad either.  I did 5.3 miles in 50 minutes and my personal best for 3.1 miles in 27 minutes.  Everyone had awesome times but this is all I remember off the top of my head.  Coming up to exchange 18 we had to tell Micah to slow down because the race officials weren't letting teams continue if they were ahead of their estimated time.  He was pretty ticked but we made it work and they let us continue on.

Here we all are at the finish line.  Good job team I'D STILL RATHER BE NARFING!  More than anything, it's just fun being with family for two days straight.  We encourage each other, tell jokes, share food and drinks, get a bit sarcastic, and of course their is lots of laughing!  Everyone stayed mostly pleasant considering the amount of sleep we get during a relay race.
Hanging out at the starting line.  We are getting excited!!

Who does this during a race?  Apparently having 2 miles added to his 1st leg (cause he was nice and switched legs with his wife1) didn't bother him too much.

Way to start us off Chad!

This is the reason we did the relay in Las Vegas.  The Saints and Sinners medal (the ones on the outside).  If you do Wasatch Back Ragnar (which we did in June) and Las Vegas Ragnar in the same year then you get the Saints and Sinners medal along with the regular Ragnar medal.  Totally worth it!
Here's Dan bringing us in at the end!

This was what we got at the 2nd major exchange.  Pretty nice isn't it?!  It was a great place to relax and get a little bit of sleep.  Some of the guys took their shirts off and jumped in the pool for a bit.  Jen wasn't on our team but we ended seeing her while we were at this location.  And then at a few more exchanges.
Not sure which family member started all of this running business but we sure have fun doing it together!  This was our second Ragnar Relay as a family and it definatly is not the last!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS MOLLY!!!

Molly is 1!!
Crazy how time flies. We invited some family over to celebrate Molly's birthday with us. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the cake but she learned quickly with the help of some siblings.

Yummy!
Once she got her presents opened she didn't want anyone else to touch them. Especially her new baby doll. She loved it!
Dave was being a meany and tried to take it away from her. She was not happy about that. Can you see the distress on her face?
And she loved walking with her doll stroller. She also got some new clothes and some new sippy cups. Happy Birthday Miss Molly!
A year ago, Molly was in a hurry to get here and has been quick to learn almost everything in her first year. I remember when she started to roll over. Next thing I knew she was sitting up. Turn around again and she was crawling. And then pulling herself up to stand. And then cruising. And climbing onto beds. Next came the stairs. She is a champ. Going up and down. Then she learned how to climb into things. The cupboards and drawers. This is her favorite thing to do. And then came walking. She just doesn't care. (And still doesn't at 13 1/2 months) But she has figured out how to climb up the kitchen chairs and then onto the table. She keeps us busy for sure.
At one year she weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs (7%). That's about right on for one of our kids. Molly is so much fun and so good. I love to tickle her and hear her cute laugh. Her brothers and sister love to play with her. She chases them and they chase her. And then she just laughs! Molly loves her Dad! She gets so excited when he gets home from work. Or when she first sees him in the morning. She is a great eater and a fabulous napper. She still takes 2 naps a day and goes to bed at 8. We have some wonderful friends at church that take her almost every week and she loves them. Sometimes she doesn't even want to come back to me.
We love absolutely everything about this little girl (I could probably do without the poopy diapers though). Especially her smile! And the cute talking she does these days! We are so grateful to have her in our family!
We Love you Molly Lolly!
