Oops!

Last night Caleb and I decided to go for a run. I didn't realize it would be so hard to breathe, but I'm sure the 20° weather and 4500 ft elevation had something to do with it. My face was numb, and I could barely feel myself breathing. We ran in Lincoln Park, which is across the street from our house. It was so beautiful; there's a golf course, huge swimming pool and slide, large track, and a fancy baseball stadium where the Junior College World Series are held every year. Because it's so safe here, we left the backdoor unlocked. Well, we got back and realized the door between the laundry room and kitchen was locked. Hmmm....how unfortunate. Well, we first tried picking the lock...that didn't work. Then we decided to check the windows. So here we are, dressed in dark sweats and sweatshirts, beanies, gloves, etc....walking around the house in the dark with a flashlight, and checking windows. Caleb was worried someone might think we were breaking in. :) Well, it turns out that the window in the guest room was unlocked! Yay! Caleb climbed through the window, and we made it inside without breaking any windows. It definitely gave us a good laugh. :)

Getting Started

Well, thanks to sweet Gina, I am attempting to blog. I guess I enjoy reading her blog so much that I am crossing my fingers ours will be even the slightest bit entertaining. :) And I guess it would help keep everyone updated on our life since we are so far away!

We are slowly getting set up in our house. Caleb installed out first new fan last night! One down, many many more to go! He did a fantastic job, and I am so proud of his Handy Man skills! Unfortunately, we weren't able to turn the light on because we forgot to buy light bulbs. Oops! :)

Last night we went to our Cardio Kickboxing class, and I am sore this morning! We actually wear boxing gloves and punch/kick bags rather than "air" as in all of my past fitness classes. Also, the instructors provide great tips on technique and form, and it has that "small town" feel where "everybody knows your name!" We have really been enjoying this gym, even though it's the most outdated, stinkiest, and smallest gym I have ever joined! It's so small and becomes so crowded that the mirrors and windows are completely fogged up each night. Gross! Fortunately, this is our last week in this small garage because the gym is moving into its new building this weekend! It's going to be 10x bigger with new pads and equipment!

We hope to go on a run tonight, but it's pretty stinkin' hard to get motivated when it's 20° outside!
