Last year at this time we were celebrating New Years Eve here...

The Backyardigans
Sean put on the tv show Backyardigans the other day for his kids and this is what happened.
Alex ran to get Pablo and then he and Ethan were glued to the tv.
Here's Ethan on their fun new playground. It's actually not new, just new to them. My aunt connie has had it since her youngest was a baby and since he's now 18, she decided the triplets would have a good time playing with it. They absolutely LOVE it!!

Christensen/Johnson Christmas Festivities
Okay, I hope you have plenty of time for this one...
Here's what we've been up to this holiday season.
First, the annual Johnson-sibling night out.
Jill and I rocking out to Disney's Sing It! We belted out High School Musical all morning long!
Last stop was back to my parents for a night filled with Rock Band. It was a very long, busy, and wonderful day!!
I hope you all had a good one too!

Neil is so smart. S-M-R-T. I mean S-M-A-R-T
I keep forgetting that he's all done because the U is weird and doesn't have a graduation ceremony in December. So even though he is officially finished, he hasn't "walked" or received his diploma. It doesn't seem real!
Ever since we got married, Neil has been working full time and only taking night classes. It has taken forever and its finally over! WOO HOO
Congratulations baby!

Mr and Mrs Simmons
My friend Charity got married on Saturday to an awesome guy named Jimmy. Charity looked so gorgeous and I am in love with her dress!
This is my friend Brigette, she was a bridesmaid. I haven't seen her in probably 3-4 years, so I was so glad she was there!
Here comes the Bride...
Charity and Jimmy Simmons
Just look at how amazing her dress is! I know it's not a great picture, so you can't see it very well. Sorry, I guess you just have to imagine the awesomeness of it!
Thanks for inviting us Char and Jimmy!

Peanut Brittle
Neil's family has a tradition of making peanut brittle every December. I have never liked peanut brittle, but for some reason, this stuff is so yummy and addicting!
It is quite the process with several rules. Everything has to be exactly right! Here's Blake and Pat having a turn.
Leah and Dawn (Kurt in the background)

Neil and Leah. The sugary stuff is so freaking hot- it still burns your hands even with the gloves on!

Leah, Pat, and Neil. This was Ryan's (the guy in the background) first year at this party so he was really interested with the whole process- Until he took a turn and Dawn criticized him that is! I must say, I love the tradition, but my love handles don't!

We also celebrated Henry's 5th birthday! Here he is w/ Grandma Dawn, his brother Lewis, Great Aunt Alayne, and Great Grandma Lyril.

Charity Jordan Weston
My friend Charity is getting married next week so our friends threw her a shower. Here's the bride to be and the moms to be.

Here's Brit, her baby Peyton, and Michelle
Me, Brianne, and Jamie
A cute picture of Michelle and Nique
Of course I'm an idiot and didn't even think to take pictures of her opening all her darling presents! Next shower, I'll be all over that!
I rarely see these girls but it's always so much fun when we do get together. The majority of us became friends in 6th or 7th grade but some of us go even further back!

O Christmas Tree
Neil and I went and got a Christmas tree the other day and we had a lot of fun decorating it! All the ornaments are mine and go way back to when I was born. I think Neil has 1, but we don't know where it is, we'll have to search his parent's tree.
We always get a short, fat one. They're the cutest kind!
I know most people are in favor of an elaborate (matching) tree, but mine is all about the memories! I'm not much of a decorator anyway.
Don't we look awesome all ready for bed in our jammies!?
We also went to Temple Square the other night with Neil's family, but I can't upload the dumb picture. I don't feel too bad though; if you really use your imagination, I'm sure you can picture it!

Let's Have Some RESPECT for Sex!
This title may seem bizarre, but read on, You'll die laughing. (maybe it's just me)
So, I teach 8th grade health. As part of the State curriculum I teach Sex Respect (the sex ed program). It has been surprisingly fun and all sorts of hilarious!! Several times I have had to try my very hardest not to burst out laughing in front of my classes. I always had to grade papers alone because they made me laugh so dang hard!
The main purpose of this post is to tell about a particularly funny assignment. The students had a 4 page worksheet that they had to do WITH THEIR PARENTS! (I'm so glad we didn't have this assignment when I was that age!) The first page is 20+ words that they have to define. The second page is an HIV/AIDS quiz. The third page is an abstinence pledge (Utah has an abstinence only curriculum). And the fourth page has the parent or the teen write statements regarding sex, drugs, alcohol, pornography, and parties.
The first and fourth page consistently cracked me up! Let me just share with you some of the most hilarious definitions. [petting was probably my fav]
Petting: stroking of a dog or cat. Brushing the person's hair. Rounding the bases. What I do to my dog. Being a tease.
Sexuality: The study of sex.
Write a clear position about teen sexual activity: There will be none until 16 or married. I will not have sex with my daughter until she is married. It's supposed to be fun. (I think these parents should have re-read their answers a few times)
State your position towards alcohol or drug use in your home: No drugs or alcohol until their old enough.
My Job is too much fun sometimes!

Tiffany & Co.
When Neil and I were dating (in 2004) he gave me a pair of {REAL} Tiffany's earrings for my birthday. We had only been dating about 4 1/2 months at that point and I know there had already been at least 1 breakup.
That was definitely an expensive present and I've always loved the earrings. The thing is... I'm really not a jewelry person. I'm like the most plain person you've probably ever met. I will occasionally wear a necklace, even more rare is when I wear a bracelet. I usually do wear earrings, but they're always just plain, silver, small hoops that stay in for several months at a time.

This is the day he gave them to me. I can't get over how young we were!

The other day, however, I pulled out the old Tiffany & Co box and decided to actually wear the expensive gift my then very informal boyfriend gave me. Neil was quite surprised, since I've probably only worn them once or twice since he gave them to me.
I know you can't really see the earrings very well in either picture. I looked online to see if Tiffany's still makes them, but I couldn't find them.
