My niece, Olivia, started playing soccer last week for her first time. She is a super fast runner, so she's mostly good at running up and down the field- so far. It was really fun to go watch her play in her first game. She's the one in the pink shorts without any cleats or shin guards. I'm really hoping she'll get those for her next game- I was worried about her little shins!

LJH Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Since we started school on Monday in our Amazing, Brand new school, they had a ribbon cutting ceremony. Ideally, they would've had the ribbon cutting ceremony BEFORE school started, but that just didn't work out.

Here's a few pictures of the ceremony. This first one is my principal- he's AWESOME!

The next one is the CEO of Kompan- the company who developed our interactive playground.

Then there's Layton City's mayor.

The ribbon cutting- that you can't actually see.

And our awesome playground. I haven't learned how to use it yet, but I'm super excited to play on it sometime! It sounds like so much fun!

I'll have to put some more pics of the school up when I get some time- it's beyond beautiful! I'm so excited to be teaching there!
GO SILVERWOLVES!

CHUCK E. CHEESE

I have been wanting to go to Chuck E. Cheese since it was built in Layton over a year ago. I've never had anyone to go with, but this week I got invited to go with Stefanie, her boys, her mom, sister, Brody, and my mom. It was a very fun place and I actually got a really delicious sandwich!
Here's Dane and Stef
Cord and his uncle Brody (aka his best friend in the whole world!)
Baby Dane
I caught Cord and his Grandma Dee Dee with their mouths full. I promised Debbie I wouldn't put this picture on facebook :) (I kept my promise!)
Mom, Cord, and Brody playing the classic "Whack-a-mole"
My mom and Dane playing Zoofari.
I played a couple fun games too (and a couple really crappy games that pissed me off!)

On another note- if you saw my last post about my new school, you can probably imagine the amount of stress I've had this week. It has been a freaking MADHOUSE!!!
For something fun, my new principal (who I love), wanted the whole faculty to dress up like a character from a book for a picture. I dressed up as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz"--just because it was an easy character to dress as. By the time this picture was taken, I was just about to change back to my regular clothes, so I had already taken out my pigtails.
There were some really cute and creative costumes. (and some really lame ones too)
Wish me luck for next week!!

And We're Supposed to Start School on Monday!?

This is my BEAUTIFUL new school: Legacy Junior High in West Layton.

It's actually really similar to my last school, West Point Junior High.

It is amazing and there are a million workers there every day, but there's no way everything's going to be finished by MONDAY!

Max and Liv's Birthday Party

Since we were in Bear Lake on Max and Livvie's actual birthday, they wanted to celebrate with all their friends and family before we left.

Here's a few pictures of their birthday party.

They got completely spoiled- as usual.

Their Birthday cakes were so delicious!

This is Max's Snake Eye's costume the first day he got it. Before he'd even had it a week it was torn at every seam. He still loves it though and wears it every day!

Bear Lake 09

We spent last week at our cabin in Bear Lake. Can't go wrong with Bear Lake! Here's a million pictures of the trip...
Me and Max
Mom and Dane (Dane ate that whole peach!)
Reagan

John Scott and Taylor with a ton of kids on the paddle boat! (no doubt exceeding the weight limit!)
All the kids (I think) in the Dune Buggy

Max got this "Snake Eyes" costume (from GI JOE) and wore it constantly- even in the water!

Livvie and Max on their 6th birthday!

John and Mom and some of the kids building sand castles.
Steffie

Me and Neil getting ready to take about 6 kids on the paddle boat

Lindsay, Reagan, Olivia, and Whitney in the tubby

Nick and Liv

Baby Daners

Berrie, Jill, and Shelley trying to put up the canopy

Neil, Taylor, Nick, and Max playing catch. The little boys are getting so good at throwing and catching!
Our morning ritual of carrying a million buckets of water to fill up the pool.

Max and Berrie swimming
It was a great week filled with swimming, laying out, eating junk food, roasting marshmallows and being ridiculously lazy: the perfect vacation!

All Sorts of Random

Here's a few different things to add to the ol' blog.
Last week the side and back of the Layton Office got finished getting landscaped.  The front has all been done since we moved into the new office almost 2 years ago.  We've had grass and trees in the big backyard, but no shrubs or flowers.  It makes a huge difference and I love looking out the windows.

On tuesday night, I made waffles for the first time in my whole life!  They didn't turn out very well and it took me about 40 minutes to make the batter and 1 stupid waffle.  Things just kept going wrong- I don't think I'll try to make waffles (or anything else) anytime soon.
I did make this waffle that I had to take a picture of because I am that big of a loser.  What does it look like?   It's the UNITED STATES!  As if you've ever seen a waffle that looked more like the United States of America!
On August 5, Kelsey and Alex's son turned 1 year old!
He's so cute!
He really started to enjoy that cake!
When he was all done- he was the BIGGEST mess! (and still so cute!)
Like I said, just a few random things to blog about...

Hula Hooping

How could I forget to post my most recent proudest moment!?
A week and a half ago, we were out w/ Missy and Aaron and decided we needed a treat. We chose Krispy Kreme Donuts (how can you go wrong with that!?). While we were in line, Missy read a sign that said something about hula hooping for a dozen free regular Krispy Kremes! I'm a pretty good hula hooper (I won a school-wide "morning activity" competition in junior high), so I was DEFINITELY up for the challenge!
You only had to hula hoop for a minute to win 12 delectable donuts! That's hardly a challenge for someone like me :) So, I get to the front of the line and ask for the hoop--let me tell you that this is the worst hula hoop ever made! It's not even round- it's flat and ridiculously lightweight.

Of course, I made the minute and won the free donuts, but I have to admit that it was more difficult than I had expected.

I think next time I'll bring my own hoop!

More SWIMMING

The only thing that could be better than having a pool at my grandma's would be if I had my own pool- unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen. Nonetheless, we are having such a great time and swimming as often as possible!
Me and Reagan
This is Nick swimming in the deep end. He is a really great swimmer. He doesn't need floaties or a lifejacket or anything!
Reagan is learning how to do a backfloat! I love it :)
Tink has become a really good swimmer too.
Calls and Neils
Saturday night, Neil's family invited us to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. It was really pretty. This is Neil's sister Monica and her family. From l to r: Henry, Kurt, Will, Monica (including baby #4), and Louis.
Me and Neil
Neil's parents- Dawn and Pat.

We've only got a few weeks of Summer break left and we are living it up!
