Snow Bum

So, Bear really loves going outside.  He wants to go out on the swing in every type of weather.  I was mean and didn't let him get in the snow-filled swing the other day, but we did go out and play for a little while.

His favorite part was helping brush the snow off Daddy's car, which I didn't take a picture of.

Always With The iPad

I swear that's the only thing the boys ever want to play with, and I'm talking about the big boys too!

On Christmas Day in the Morning

Christmas is a crazy day!
Here's some of the fun at the Young house.

The Ralph residence.

And the Child abode.

Our stockings on the fireplace.

Santa found my favorite blue tootsie rolls and put 4 of these big things in my stocking! YUM!

Here's Barrett on Christmas morning very appropriately eating baby Jesus.

His big cheese smile

He got so many new toys and loved every single thing!

I got some new clothes and a new coat for Canada weather! (coat not pictured)

Neil opening some of his presents.

His Big Skinny wallet that he's so excited about!

Dad playing with the Perplexus (it's a really fun/hard maze thing).

One of Mom's new presents.

Talk about chaos! Yep, everyone comes back in the morning for MORE presents!  We all got totally spoiled!

Bear LOVES Shelley!  I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual ;)

More presents for Buster.

Taylor eventually woke up and opened some presents too!

Sister pic. (We waited forever for you Stef, but you never came!)

Moving on with the day....
We went to lunch at Grandma CC's.  Here's LaLa, Bear, and Nick taking a picture with his new iPod touch that he loves!

We were missing quite a few families, but here's some of the usual crowd.

Neil and I then went to dinner at Grandma Lyril's.

More presents!  Seriously, we're very lucky!

Then we went home, put Barrett to bed and I went to see Grandma GiGi where I didn't take any pictures (probably because Barrett wasn't there!)
It was an incredible day and it flew by!  Why do all the good times seem to go so fast!?

Christmas Eve

The family parties continue on Christmas eve when my family gets together at my parent's house for dinner, ornaments, and presents.
Taylor stayed at my parent's for a few nights and brought Bowie with him.  All the kids were crazy about her!

I can't remember what show they were watching, but it must've been pretty good.

For the first time in at least 30 years, we did the "Jesus Story" play.  I have to admit I was against it, but it only took a couple minutes and turned out really cute!  And the kids really liked it- well some of them did, others boycotted it with me...

Alex loved giving Barrett a shoulder ride.  They're BFFs :)

All the matching bubbies.

Group shot after presents and ornaments.

This was on Sunday night, but it looked like fun, so I thought I'd post it.

Family Parties

Tis the season for family parties!

We had our Christensen family party on Friday night last week and it was really fun just like it always is.
There was a theme this year of the Lawrence Welk Show because my grandparents always loved that show.  We were urged to dress up, but I totally forgot and didn't even look for anything "old" to wear :(  The family members that did dress up were a freakin hit!

Here's some of the party goers.  Barrett was in his jammies because we only stayed for a minute and then had to take him home to go right to bed.

Dane and Hadley playing in the bubble machine.  Bear really like the bubbles too.

Stef, Jill, and Berrie

Liv, Berrie, Dane, Stef (thanks for smiling!), John and Hads, and McCord.

Aunt Beep

Me and Bear

Uncle David as Grandpa RJ

Julie as Grandma Roselyn and Kathy.

"RJ and GiGi" People who saw Julie from far away really thought it was my grandma! I couldn't get over how awesome she looked- she really does look exactly like a young Grandma GiGi!

Wendy, Kelsey, David, Julie, and Beep all dressed up.

We had left by this time, but they also had some family band time.  There's 10 kids in my dad's family and they all play several instruments and are just very musically talented.  So, the folks that have some talent brought along an instrument or two and jammed for a while.  I was sad to have missed it, not because I can play anything, but I just wanted to watch.

Later that night (I hate when we get double booked!), we had the Johnson sibling game night at Kurt and Monica's.  Here's when Blake won the LCR money game.  I won the next round!

Sunday night was the Johnson family Bingo party.  Little Lola saw this turkey leg on the counter and just grabbed it started eating it!  She looked so cute with it!

Bingo time!  Beck was the official Bingo helper this year.  He rocked it!

Me and Neil playing Bingo.  It's kind of blurry, we can thank Maupu for that ;)

A lovely picture of Henry- also thanks to Maupu!

This was Barrett's Bingo winning (he was already in bed though).

Neil and Maupu doing their punch chugging contest.  Neil won.  He always wins.

Blake (and Leah and Lola) with his Bingo winning.

Then we gave Pat and Dawn their Christmas present from all the kids.
We just got 8x10 pictures of all the grandkids framed for their St. George house, but they loved them!  They teared up when they were opening them.

Stella and Ava watching.

Here's all the pictures of all 9 grandkids.

At the end of the night, I would ask Lola if she was a tired girl and she would nod her head and snuggle into me.  It was the cutest thing!  She's so squeezable!
