Easter Weekend at Home

Barrett was able to be in Utah for Easter and from the looks of these pictures, he had a great time!
The kids all got together to dye eggs.

On Saturday, our family all went to my aunt Connie's house for the annual Nelson Family Egg Hunt.  Connie and Craig's house is just about the only place our WHOLE family can get together now that there's 1800 of us!
Apparently, Bear just wanted to find sticks and he was very successful.

I guarantee he was roaring in this picture.  This is his typical roaring face and pose.  He pretends to be a lion several times each day- sometimes even a baby lion (my favorite).
Bear and Nick on the tramp.
Daddy Donny's still got hops!
Pops helping Barrett eat a cupcake.

It looks like it was perfect weather for an outside party!
hmmm.... I know my mom sent me some pictures of Easter Sunday while I was gone.  I'll have to find them and add them later.
Found them!
Bear and LaLa ready for church.

He found his Easter basket. My sister Berrie made fun of me because I just put a bunch of learning dvds, toys, and flashcard type things in his Easter basket.  LaLa added a few more "fun" toys and plenty of candy!

Sneak Peek

I took a bunch of pictures on my camera during our trip, but the camera went home to Denver with Neil, so here's a few pictures I had on my phone...
We started the trip with Kelsey and Alex in Orlando going to Universal Studios.  Neil had never been and he loved it!!

We love Butterbeer!

I think this was the Despicable Me ride.

On Sunday morning, we boarded our amazing ship.

We played some extremely fun (and expensive) bingo.  Even playing with 6 cards per round, we didn't win :(  Others had 36 or more cards each round!  I don't know how they could keep track of that many.

This is in Puerto Rico, our 2nd stop.

When we got back from Puerto Rico, I did the rock climbing wall on our ship.

We spent a few hours playing on the Flow Rider onboard.

As I'm sure you can imagine, I have a million more pictures to post, so I'll get to those later in the week hopefully.

Barrett's Schedule

This is the schedule that I left for my parent's while they were tending him.  I just wanted to add it to the blog book because I think it's interesting and kind of funny how crazy I really am.  I revised this like 50 times too adding tiny little details.

Wakes up anywhere from 6-8am.
Sit on potty. Throughout each day, remind him to tell you when he needs to go pee or poop (do this a million times).  Try not to ASK him if he needs to go pee/poop (it’s part of the training).  Make sure he washes his hands or gets special lotion (hand sanitizer) every time he goes potty.
Eat breakfast (cereal).
Take vitamins (1/2 a Flintstone vitamin and 1 whole gummy)
Watch a show- I let him watch about 30-40 minutes of a show each day- Try not to go TOO much over that.
Get him dressed and put on clean underwear.
Comb hair and brush teeth.
Play, run errands, whatever.

11-11:30 lunch

12:15-12:30 start getting him ready for his nap.  Go potty, brush his teeth, take off pants.  Put him in his green cotton sleepsack for his nap.
Let him turn on his sleepsheep- it doesn’t go in his crib with him, sing rock a bye baby (or he will sing it while you rock him), lay him in his bed with 2 blankies and 2 raggies.  Put Vaseline on lips.  Remind him to tell you when he needs to go pee or poop.
**If he says something about “dark”, this is what he wants you to say (even at naptime):
“When it’s dark outside, we go to sleep and we sleep ALL night.  In the morning the sun will come up and it will be light outside and you can wake up and LaLa will come and get you.  Mommy and Daddy are too far away so they can’t come get you.”  He may also ask if Tyce, Rylee, Kelsey, or Alex are going to come get him, tell him they’re too far away too.
He will probably tell you he needs to pee/poop a few times before he’ll go to sleep.  You just have to keep going in there and taking him to try and putting him back in bed.  You don’t have to repeat any of the bedtime routine stuff though.
Don’t let him sleep past 3:30pm or he will have a really hard time going to sleep at night.  He’s the best cuddler when you have to wake him up!
He needs a snack shortly after he wakes up.
6:00 Dinner.  If he doesn’t eat a vegetable with dinner, he needs to eat a squeezy.
6:30 bathtime.  I only bathe him every other night unless he gets really dirty/messy.  You can bathe him more if you prefer, or in the morning, or whatever works for you.
7:00 bedtime. Whether he gets bathed or not, he needs lotion on his legs and face.  If he still has bad excema spots on his legs and bum, put the hydrocortisone on the spots before you put on the Eucerin. Dress him in his thick, white underwear, any of his 2-piece jammies, and socks. Get his teeth brushed and go potty.  Put him in his fleece sleepsack, let him turn on his sleepsheep, but leave it on the big bed, sing rock a bye baby (or he will sing it while you rock him), lay him in his bed with 2 blankies and 2 raggies.  Put Vaseline on lips.  Remind him to tell you when he needs to go pee or poop.
He’ll tell you he wants to go pee/poop. Put him back in his sleepsack each time.

If his big toes are sore, put the muprocin on the sore spots.
Don’t put him in a 1-piece footie pj because they are too hard to get on and off at night.

Only use the tiniest smear of toothpaste since it’s fluoridated and he doesn’t spit it out.

A Couple Phone Pics

Last week was free scoop day at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Bear and I went to the gym and then straight to the mall for some free ice cream. Neil met us there because, who can resist free ice cream!?

We went to Papa and Grandma's house so Barrett could play with Lola the other day.
They found a big stink bug in the grass to play with.

I can't believe how big he's gotten.  He looks huge in that swing!

A few days ago, Barrett said his first prayer, which was adorable.  He and I were eating dinner when Pops came in and asked who said the prayer and then asked if it was Lala's turn to say it.  Bear said it was his turn and asked how to do it.  I told him what to say and he did a really good job.  Almost everything he does is cute to me!
I had to leave for the airport while Bear was still sleeping so I took a couple pictures before I left.  I'm going to miss my baby boy!

Easter Egg Hunt

Neil and I will be out of town on Easter, so I was really excited when we got invited to an early Easter egg hunt for Barrett.  I thought he'd really have fun with it this year and I was mostly right.  He wasn't as competitive as the bigger kids, but he liked finding a few eggs and especially eating all his candy!
We were at Monica's house which has a huge yard.  I could barely get Bear off the swingset even during the egg hunt.
There were lots of kids and toys to play with.  This is Kyler, Barrett, Ali, Lucy, and Zoey.

He found this necklace, put it on and said, "I'm a doctor!"  I guess it was his stethoscope.

Some of the parents.

I think the cat was Barrett's very favorite part of the party (poor cat).  He chased it everywhere!  He was trying to be really soft and nice to it, but... he's 2.
Bear also made this mess with the cat's food and while I was cleaning it up, Bear chased the cat downstairs and the cat scratched his nose and lip.  It got him pretty good, but he was over it soon and wanted to go find the cat again!

Luckily that was when we started the egg hunt.

Zoey, Kaia, Laurel, Jetta, Lucy, Barrett, Ali, and Kyler with all their eggs!  This was already after his bedtime so we cruised home right after this picture!
I think he'll have a blast going to our family Easter party on Saturday too.  Wish I could be there!

Celebrate Good Times

Friday was my 30th birthday and we celebrated ALL weekend!
On Friday, we had some cupcakes with the Young's.

Later that night, we had a big party with tons of my friends over at Neil's parent's house.  I think the kids had a great time playing in the racquetball court and I know I had a great time hanging out with so many friends!

Neil was the grill master and an overall awesome host.

Friday was so busy I didn't even have time to open my presents. We finally got around to it after the gym on Saturday.  I spent a fortune at lululemon on gym clothes (because that's pretty much all I wear anyways),  got a new swimsuit (or 2 or 3...), some new sunnies, some makeup, and, I think that's it.  And we're going on a cruise next week! WOO HOO!

Pops thinks up some crazy ideas sometimes.  "Hey, let's see if you can hit the ball out of the tree with a stick!"
Saturday night, we had a party for me, Michele, and Diane since all of our birthdays are in April.  I can't believe we only took this 1 picture!

Sunday, we got to see Papa and Grandma.

My nieces and nephews put on an interesting show for us.

And we had my birthday dinner with my family.  I had teriyaki salmon and my mom's chocolate chip cookies for a birthday cake.

The kids got pretty messy with those chocolate chips!

Surprisingly I didn't have a hard time turning 30. I thought I'd be all upset about it, but I've just been so happy to get to party with all my friends it hasn't phased me yet!
