Birthday Girls

Today is Berrie and Jill's 40th birthday.   Here's an interesting tidbit... My parents had NO idea they were expecting twins.  She only gained like 23 lbs and did not look like she was pregnant with 2 babies.  My mom delivered Berrie and then 6 minutes later Jill was born and everyone was like, WHAT!?  Wouldn't you die of shock!?  I'm pretty sure my parents did exactly that.  They were so young and had only prepared to bring home 1 baby and then, SURPRISE!  What a great surprise :)

Berrie, Jill, and our Dad.
My parents and Jill and Berrie.

This is one of my favorites.  This is at our cabin in Bear Lake that my Grandpa built himself.  My Grandma CC (Colleen) is holding my sister Shelley, Grandpa Denny, my mom is holding Berrie, and my dad is holding Jill.

We had their birthday dinner on Sunday.

Bear crawled on the table to make sure he could blow out the candles.

Speaking of twins, Ethan and Alex dressed themselves the same the other day and came down to show Shelley.  They were laughing so hard about their "joke"!

"Mostly Naked But Also Caped!"

I mentioned in my last post how much Bear loves this book and how much he loves running around naked.

In the book, the kid eventually decides to put on a cape and Bear has also discovered how great that is!

"Being naked is great, but being caped is even better!"

So Many Random Things

I was laying in bed one morning when I could hear Bear wake up on the monitor.  The first thing he said was, "It's show time!"

Other entertaining phrases from him include, Holy crap! and No way Jose!
If the sun is in his eyes, he'll block it with his fist and say, "Shield my eyes!" I think he got that from Buzz Lightyear.

He seems to think that hate is the past tense of hit so he'll often say I hate that ball (or whatever he just hit).  I'll say, "you hate that ball or you hit it?"  Then he'll say he hit it, that's why I think he thinks that... Or maybe he really does hate everything.

He wants to say the exact same thing as people at the exact same time, so he's constantly trying match what we're saying as we're saying it.

We had to get my car registered this month and when Neil went out to put the 2015 sticker on, he found my 2014 sticker in my glovebox.  We never put it on my license plate and I never got pulled over for it!  I wish I would've just saved the money from last year's registration since I never even needed it.

My family was teasing me for telling Barrett that if he wanted a cookie, he had to eat it over the garbage.  Those Chips Ahoys are super crumbly!

Another thing that I don't know where it came from is whenever he has a noisy bodily function of any kind, he'll laugh and say, "that was me!"  He will then say excuse me so that's a plus, but I think boys might actually be born with the idea that burps and farts are funny because we have never modeled that behavior!

He's been loving wearing Lala's ironman hat.

This kid has the worst toenails, I feel so bad for him.  Ever since he was born he's been getting nonstop ingrown toenails.  His doctor doesn't want to operate on him because he's still so young.  Recently, he started growing a new toenail underneath the ingrown one and then the ingrown one started peeling off.  We got the ouchy one off and I hope the new one that grew in will grow normally for once.

We had a funny conversation while we were playing,
Bear: you're so smelly
McCall: I'm smelly?
Bear: yeah, like a flower
McCall: thanks, buddy!
Bear: yeah, you're smelly like (does a great big sniff)
McCall: Ooohhhhh!
I had been sniffing a lot because I had a runny nose for a few days and I guess that means I'm smelly. Although chances are, I was probably actually smelly too!

Neil is traveling a lot this month and Bear misses being able to play with him.  Reason #809 we love FaceTime.  Bear will just shoot the phone.
Or I'll hold a sword and the phone so it's like Bear is fighting Neil. (He's still really into sword fighting and requires everyone to yell/grunt HURRRR simultaneously before fighting.)

He's hilariously sincere occasionally.  He'll tell his cousins in the sweetest voice, I'm so sorry, but I have to go home or whatever.  I wish he was that sincere when he actually needed to apologize!

Blake and Jessica brought back this cute turtle shirt for Bear from their honeymoon.  Also, those boxer briefs, How cute are they!?  I know he's in his underwear a lot, but it's only at our house.  I do make him put on clothes if we go places!

Speaking of not wearing clothes... He loves this book Naked! and anytime he is naked, he runs around yelling I'm naked! and other lines from the book.

We pass McDonald's at least twice every day and he's been asking for a couple weeks to go there.  He's never been but he can see the big toy in the window as we drive by, so he wanted to go. He calls it Donald Duck's and I finally took him last week.
He had a blast and I sat and ate a McDonald's breakfast that I should be ashamed of (but I'm not because it was SO good!).

When I put him to bed, he'll say he wants "the sweet dreams on" if he wants me to turn on the nightlight.

We took Bear to Baskin Robbins with the Young Fam for ice cream...
He ordered a cookie.

Snowbasin Ski Resort

We spent our Saturday morning playing up at Snowbasin.  It has been the most amazing weather and we had to take advantage of it.  Bear loved "the ride" aka the gondola.

The leaves were really beautiful and of course, Bear was happy to get to throw as many rocks as he wanted.

I hope this weather lasts another 2 months at least!

Max and Liv Get Baptized

On Saturday, we got to go to Max and Olivia's baptism.  Bear was just excited to get to do anything with his cousins.  He wants to play with them every single day.

The baptism was really great.  I didn't get any pictures of them before, but this is them afterwards with LaLa.

And Grandma GiGi.

And some of the missionaries.  Since they're 11, they had to take the missionary discussions.

Berrie, Max, Liv, and Jeff.  Jeff baptized both Max and Liv and confirmed them in church the next day.

The twins with Grandma CC.

And our cousins that were there.

Bear was making everyone laugh by yelling, "I win!"
It was a great day!

Old Pictures

I was using my in-law's computer the other day and I saw some really great, old pictures on the desktop that I had to steal.
This is Grandpa Roger, or Old Papa.  I wish I knew what year this was, it's such a good photo.

Grandma and Grandpa Hart (Dawn's parents).

This is Dawn's high school graduation picture.  I see Ava so much in this picture.

Pat and Dawn's wedding.

This photo was titled, "Dawn the Peach"  It's not old, but I liked it so I added it.

Some Other Things

Went out with some of my girls the other night to Twig's. (Me, Jen, Michele, and Diane) I don't know why mine and Jen's faces are kind of blurry/smudged.
We got 3 desserts to share and they were all so yummy!  The drunken donuts there are always my favorite though!

This made me laugh really hard!  Little did Neil know that I got a killer deal on them!  They would've normally cost me around $450-$500, but I didn't even come close to paying that price!  Lululemon is my favorite brand of workout clothes and I always spend all my birthday and Christmas money on it, so I was THRILLED to get these on sale!

We went on a little hike up Fernwood over the weekend and it was beautiful.  Bear's experience can basically be summed up in 3 words...

 Being carried.

Throwing rocks.

And being chased.

Met up with Taylor at his restaurant for lunch.  He wasn't working, he just wanted us all to try it out because only my mom and dad have been.  He's a chef at Em's in Salt Lake, so when I say, "his restaurant," I don't mean that he owns it or anything.
I showed up with this hospital mug and my regular water bottle too and Shelley thought I'd gone crazy again.  Really, I was bringing the mug back to Taylor (it's his) and I always have to bring water with me everywhere because I get so thirsty.

We invited Zeek and Mya to come play with us at Grandma and Papa's house.

And that's about all we've been up to.
