The Flood. Also, Eden.

A couple weeks ago our basement flooded.  Nothing got ruined, so that was good, but it was a huge pain as I'm sure you know. After we got the carpet dried and had the carpet pad replaced, we needed to get the carpets cleaned.  We basically got all the carpets cleaned since they were coming anyways. Since the furniture was all stacked on top of each other and moved around, we couldn't get to Bear's bed for nap time that day so I made him sleep in his old crib!  I wasn't sure if it was going to be too weird or fun for him to sleep, but he got right up in his corner and slept like a baby ;)

Meanwhile, Eden and I found a small section of couch that didn't have a million things on it and had a nap there.

I love her face.

This is the best way we've found for her to get more tummy time.

Shelley found this ad for Eden Organics in a magazine and taped it to our pantry.  We thought it was hilarious.

County Fair

I forgot to post our pictures from the county fair a couple weeks ago.
Barrett really wanted to do the bungee trampoline thing.  I thought it might scare him or he'd get bored of it, but he loved it the whole time!  This is him in his harness waiting for his turn to jump.

He loved all the different animals.

He was a little nervous to feed the animals at first but then he really liked it.
The animals were so greedy!

Eden and Rocco

My friend Jeanette came by the other day so I could see her and meet her sweet baby Rockwell.  He is 8 days younger than Eden and I can't wait to see these two throughout all the different stages as they grow up!

Barrett's FIRST Soccer Game

This week, Bear had his first ever soccer game!  He's been doing gymnastics for the past couple of months with Eli and has really liked it, but when I asked him if he'd rather do gymnastics or soccer, he chose soccer (they're on the same night).  I wasn't sure if I could get him on a team though because most places don't let them start until they're 4 or 5.  I knew Farmington started them at 3 but they had already finished registration so I had to put him on a wait list.  Luckily they called me a few days later and we got him signed up.  He's been looking forward to this day for weeks.

He had quite the cheering section, plus Shelley and Lala.

Not surprisingly, he was pretty aggressive, but did a good job (mostly) not pushing or hitting anyone. He wanted to play the whole time and scored the only goal for his team.

Clay (who is my sister's next door neighbor, so that's fun) would run toward the ball and then just lay on top of it every time! Bear, of course, would dog pile on top of him to try to get the ball back.

He had a great time and is so excited to play again next week!

After the game, we went for dinner at In-N-Out burger.  Bear got a pack of stickers and naturally had to put them all over his face.

2 Months

Length: 22.52 inches (51st percentile)
Weight: 9.26 lbs (11th percentile)
Head: 38.2 cm (30th percentile)

For the most part, she still demands to be held during the day and won't sleep well if she's not being held.
I can sometimes put her down for a minute while she's awake but she'll usually get upset when she notices someone isn't right by her.
She'll occasionally lay on the play mat or stay in the swing without fussing for a little while.
Her hair on the top of her head is growing back pretty quickly.
She does sleep very well at night most of the time.  If I can work it out just right and feed her around 10, she'll sleep anywhere from 4-8 hours before she wakes up to eat; most often it's about 5 1/2.
She smiles and giggles in her sleep.
She'll only eat for about 4-6 minutes at a time.
She likes blowing bubbles with her spit.
For the last couple weeks, Bear has been pronouncing her name E-dun or E-don and I think it's hilarious.  It drives Neil crazy.
I think there's some brown creeping into her greyish eyes.
She cries real tears now.
She likes the tub if I don't take too long to get her washed.  We've found a routine that has made bath time with both kids much easier... Bear gets in the shower with me at night, when we're done, we fill up the tub and Neil gets Bear out and puts Eden in the bath with me.  Seriously makes bath time a lot easier than bending over a big tub and breaking our backs!

Of course, if I was taking pictures of Eden, he needed to too.  And in the few minutes she didn't have her trusty mittens on, she scratched herself so they went right back on!

Both Daddy and Eden were exhausted after those sad 2 month shots!
I've had a big setback in my attempts to lose the dang babyweight😣 I'd been doing a pretty good job going to the gym in the afternoons/evenings when Neil was around to watch the kids and was going 3-4x/week and then I started to try to eat healthier too and track my macros a little bit and that was a deadly combination for my milk!  I dropped way low in my milk supply and I was totally freaking out.  So, I'll go back to eating all the junk food and working out once a week for now so I can keep nursing Eden.  As much as I hate being chubby, this is my only chance to nurse her and I'm going to take it.

Just Whatever

I love that he still sleeps like this.

Bear took this picture of us.

Our basement flooded last week and when we pulled back the carpet and the pad, we found this.  Stef thought we should get a sharpie and write Stefanie, Neil, and Bowie, which was a great idea, we just never got around to it.

Neil came with us to watch Bear's gymnastics class last week.

Johnny Greaves texted this picture to me of when we were little at Lava Hot Springs.  Me, Johnny, and his sister Tami.  I love mine and Tami's poses!

So cozy on Dad.

Taylor texted these pictures to me and said "The years have not been kind..."

St. George

Last weekend our little family headed down to St. George.  We couldn't leave until Thursday after Neil got home from work so we didn't get there til very late- I don't think we'll do that again!  Eden slept the whole time, but Barrett didn't sleep until about 11:00, then he woke up again when we pulled in about 20 minutes later... With getting everything in the condo in the pouring rain, getting the kids and their things all ready for bed, Neil and I didn't get to bed until about 1 am!
We woke up the next day and got ready for swimming at the Washington Rec Center.  I loved Bear wearing his floaties and backpack.

Eden was all excited to wear her swimsuit for the first time too!

They had a splash pad area,

These fun little slides, a really big, fast slide, a lazy river, and a big play toy with two slides as well.

Eden acted all grumpy that I didn't let her get in the water,

but really, she was like, "YAY!  more time with Mom!"

The next day we thought we'd just go to the pool at the condo, but either because they were filling it up or because there had been a huge storm on Thursday and Friday, the water was way too cold to get in.  Bear played with the hose for a little bit while I fed Eden and then we headed back to the Washington Rec Center.

The boys were standing by the pool table and a nice man came by and gave Bear some change so he could play pool!

This is the play toy thing that Bear spent most his time on.

The slides were all really fun.

Bear got really hurt on this red slide :(  I think he kind of turned sideways like he is in the picture above ^^^ and hit his face on the side.  He bruised his gum and made it loose.  Hopefully it's not fractured, but we'll see.  It's still tender when I brush his teeth.

He also got a bruised/bloody lip and a bruised left cheek.  It was really sad.  He had made friends with a sweet little boy who came up and asked if he was okay after he'd gotten hurt and was still crying.

We left the pool after that and went home for a much needed nap.  After nap time, we went the dinosaur museum.

It's really little but had some pretty cool things.  (Eden is in the wrap on my front)

We had to get some cupcakes from our favorite cafe 25 Main.

After Eden's early morning feeding (usually sometime between 5-7am), I usually just keep her in bed with me.  She's such a cuddle bug!

On our drive home, I needed to nurse Eden, so we pulled off and saw this fun playground at a gas station.  Our lucky day!  In case you were wondering, he's got massive amounts of chips ahoy in his mouth, his teeth aren't normally so brown!

Little Giraffe

Nordstrom sells these amazingly soft and cozy blankets and towels made by Little Giraffe.  We had one for Barrett when he was little but it's since been packed away somewhere from our moves and, sadly, I have no clue where it is right now.  We bought a new one for Eden because she needs this softness in her life.  Then, we couldn't help but compare the two kids in their towels after bath time.

Eden at 6 1/2 weeks

Bear at 2 1/2 weeks
Scrumptious little babes.
