Wedding Weekend

Last Thursday, Neil drove down to Zion's National Park for his friends wedding weekend. He had a few extra days so he was able to do some hiking.

Saturday, the kids and I flew to St. George where Neil picked us up and took us back to Zion's for the wedding we were going to.

Eden and I all ready for the ceremony.

Neil was officiating the ceremony for his long time friend Petey.  He did a great job and looked incredibly handsome.  The wedding was so beautiful!!  I stood in the back with Eden who didn't want to sit still on my lap (go figure) and Bear wanted to stay in his seat next to Neil's friends Kevin and Chelsey.

Kevin and Chelsey offered to hold Eden while I helped Bear with some things during the cocktail hour and Eden fell asleep on Chelsey!! I was so jealous!

Bear made friends with some of the nicest kids I've ever met.
I was seriously so grateful for these sweet kids.  They would remember Barrett's name every time they saw him and always invited him to play.  I was so impressed by their kindness.

Neil and Bear driving us around on the golf cart for a little bit.

The wedding was at an incredible mansion in an area called Zion's Ridge I think- it's just outside the national park on the opposite side of Springdale.  It was like nothing I've ever seen.
The catering and details were amazing too.  All 4 of us had place cards.

And even Eden had a place setting at the table- and they had a highchair for her as well! So accommodating!

The dinner area was in the shade and we were FREEZING!!  I stayed outside with the kids for maybe about 30 minutes (definitely too long) and then we spent the rest of the time inside the house!

But of course, Bear had some sweet friends to play with the whole time.

Eden made some friends too since most of the babies had to come inside.

Family picture.

So, after the wedding, WAY too late, we left and drove all the way back to Neil's parent's house in St. George.  What we should've done is stay in Zion's again (Neil had been staying there since Thursday), done some hiking and exploring the next day, and THEN drove to St. George.  Woulda, shoulda, coulda!
The other hard thing is that when we got to the house, we couldn't find the pack n play anywhere!!  So Eden slept in the bed with me while Neil slept out on a couch.  Not ideal for anyone but I won't complain about the baby cuddles :)
The next morning we went out to eat at The Crepery, YUM!

We put the hot tub temperature cool enough that we could all get in it, even Eden.
This picture made me laugh because we were in the middle of taking a picture (obviously) and caught Barrett mid-sneeze and getting his face in the water.

Eden's first time ever in the pool!

Barrett was outside playing chalk when he told Neil to come see what he wrote for him on the sidewalk.  He sounded it out and wrote A LK YU!!! (I like you!!!).  I about cried.

We got frozen yogurt one night and Eden would SCREAM until we gave her more!

Barrett enjoyed his too!  He loves these types of places!
After flying down to St. George, the drive home on Monday felt like it took 100 years!  I wish I could fly every time!!

Last Day of Preschool

Last Friday was Barrett's last day of his first year of preschool.  I got a picture of him and Miss Sharon last Wednesday because I knew Friday would be nuts.  Bear really loved preschool this year!
Friday we had a little field trip to Layton Park to play and feed the ducks.  I was late when it was time to pick the kids up from school and take them to the park so Bear and I didn't know where they were meeting and were on our own for about 30 minutes.  It was fine, we still fed the ducks and eventually the rest of the group came to the big playground so Bear was happy. (they apparently met on the south side of the park and we came from the north side)

We brought corn to feed the ducks since I've read several times you're not supposed to give them bread.

The kids all had a lot of fun playing together.
Bear just wanted to play with Lyla and went everywhere she did.

After the park we went back to Miss Sharon's for a surprise from Halia's dad.  He brought his big 4-wheeler and little train that he made to take the kids on rides around the neighborhood.

Barrett got to ride twice and he was loving it.

His whole class.
front row: emma, lyla, sophie?, jasmine, greyson, molly?, jada
back row: barrett, tragen, ethan, violet, halia, addie, jill.   I'll have to double check the names with Bear.
And he got a little graduation certificate.  I'm going to miss having him in a school that's so close!

This was Barrett's first day of school.

And his last day of school. (or a few days after his last day of school...)

Calling All Lipstick Lovers

This is very unlike me but I started selling lipstick! HA! I can't even really tell you why except I loved the product when I tried it and thought it would be fun.  And I was right, it has been fun, as random as it is!
It's a really good lipstick that will last all day and there's so many pretty colors to choose from.  Honestly that's probably the biggest reason I decided to sell it is because I COULD NOT pick just a couple colors to buy.  I already spend way too much money on makeup so I had to find a cheaper way to get this lipstick without paying full price!  Here's a secret for you- if you sign up to sell it, you get 8 colors for ~$150! That's what sold me on selling it- I needed 8 colors!

So I've been taking about 1000% more selfies than I usually do (usual number being 0) and posting them online to show the colors and the wear.  It's all quite hilarious really.

But if you are interested in trying it or buying it, contact me!  You can email me, message me on facebook, join my facebook group called Life Proof Lips, leave me a comment below with your email and I'll contact you, or

Zoo Surprise

Last week my mom had some time and asked if Bear would want to go to the zoo for a quick visit.
Apparently he wanted his picture taken with every animal statue.

He was afraid of the big gorilla statue but eventually got by him to take a picture... and pick his nose.

Barrett

A few recent things about Barrett
He'll be 4 1/2 this month!
He finishes his first year of preschool this month :'(
He loves playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii and calls Yoshi, "oshi"
He calls his nostrils "finger holes"

When he got himself dressed a while ago, he just put on all his clothes over his jammies.

He LOVES to hide and scare people.
He's getting really good at riding his bike and loves riding it.

He came home from school with his first loose tooth on March 11- it hasn't fallen out yet and is actually hardly even loose at all now.

He LOVES playing with his baby sister and has said several times, "I always wanted a sister like this!"
We were getting him ready for school one morning and he said How come when you say a prayer and say "dear Heavenly Father, please make me a super hero" Why doesn't it work?  Why doesn't he make me a super hero?  That's come up a few times actually.

When I grab his hand to help him up in the bath, he'll tell me that's like getting baptized.

One night I had bathed Eden and left the water in for Barrett but it ended up being about an hour later when I finally got him in.  He steps in the water and goes, "ahhhhh nice and cold"  I laughed about that so hard and was like, Sorry! I forgot to put warmer water in there!

He came home from preschool one day with marker on his face because he wanted to look like the Broncos- more specifically, he wanted to look like Max and Livvie.  Unfortunately, that's not the first time he's come home like this...
Every time someone is going to read him a book, he tells them, "Pick a book that we haven't read in a long time that you think I would like." Sometimes he'll also say "do that for the rest of my life!"  Everything is about the rest of his life right now.  If he gets a privilege taken away, he'll say something like, "So I don't get screen time for the rest of my life!?"
Screens are his favorite thing to do, and my least favorite for him.

Each time we put him down for bedtime or his nap, he says, "Do you have time to tickle my back and belly and cuddle?"
He calls his nap a "sun nap" because he's starting to understand that each time he goes to sleep and then wakes up, it's not necessarily the next day.
He put his jammies on upside down the other night and just laughed and laughed about it.
He told me his favorite songs are Sorry by Justin Bieber and If You Close Your Eyes (Pompeii) by Bastille.  He sings them all the time.  He also always sings Fight Song by Rachel Platten, Geronimo by Sheppard, and several songs by Maroon 5.  He is just a music lover!

He's been telling me that Grayson at school is his brother.  For the first half of the school year, Bear and Grayson were the only boys in their class but now there's 2 more.

He's doing so well at t-ball and loving it!

He loves everything Star Wars

He makes his bed every morning and after his nap too.
I might have already posted this picture but it's cute enough to be in twice if I did.

Bear drew these faces.  He said the one on the left is LaLa because it has glasses on and she wears glasses. (she NEVER gets mad at him though so I don't know why she has an angry face!)

I was so proud of Bear for putting these puzzle pieces together by himself- even the words!  He's a great counter but doesn't really know how to read yet, but he was able to sound out a lot of the words to match them with their other pieces!

He did really well at swimming lessons, I need to get him in again.
The last day is always so fun because they get to play on the toys.

We went to CAL Ranch one day to see the baby chicks and ducks.  Apparently they have baby turkeys too because the worker got this one out and let Bear pet him.

He has always loved fountains, ever since he was a baby!

He often asks why Taylor and Bowie never come over.  He loves playing with them when they do finally make it!

He calls yaks, maniacs- he just thinks that's what they're called because of the ending of the word maniac (may-nee-yak) :D
His hats are almost always on crooked.

Last weekend he fell down the stairs and it was the saddest and scariest thing ever!  He legitimately rolled and tumbled all the way down, I didn't see it but I heard it.  He got a bruised ear, knee, and scraped and bruised back, but luckily he wasn't hurt worse. I hope that never happens again!

He got a star one day at school after reading The Sneetches.
I keep asking him if he'll just stay little so he'll still want to play with me and he assures me that even when he's big, he'll still live with me and want to play with me!  I hope so!
