snow day

 12/21/10
we got 22 inches of snow down here in our town!!!
we were DUMPED on for sure!!! i haven't seen this much snow in a LONG time!
it snowed for 2 days straight. sure was a pretty sight (when it first happened at least, now... not so much!)
We were up to our knees in snow, it was CRAZY
i guess it's good to have some moisture when needed.. but the roads were out of control! It had rained that morning as well, so I'm sure that didn't help. But I had a few errands to run (bad idea) and was sliding EVERYWHERE in my 4 wheel drive truck!!! i hate driving in snowy weather too.
Cars were sliding all over the roads! It was sure SLICK out there!
We sure had fun WALKING in it though, especially the kids. we couldn't keep them out of it! so fun.
Parker was at school so he missed out on the fun.
this was the twins' FIRST "real" experience with snow...

adam and abigail would run down the driveway and slide to their bellies.... funny kids!
adam, "i'm stuck!"   abby, "i help you"
they were hilarious. they loved it and didn't want to go inside all day.

the man at work!
glad he was home to shovel us out! He spent 3 days out in the snow!
he broke down the last day and bought a snow blower.... a used one might i add but it works!!!
two years of watching our neighbors whiz through their walks was enough i guess!! He is a happier man.
wow that was a lot of work! good thing we don't get snow like this often!

kids sure had fun helping dad shovel though!
so much SNOW!!!

and yes... i do know these are boogie boards! ha. but that is all we had.
they did get a sled for christmas though! :)

my little stud. he loved the snow!
I could say that abby did a little more though! i was shocked a little.
she loved stomping around, and jumping it it! i was surprised!

james took adam out to the back and the snow would go up to adam's chest!!!
i was scared we'd "loose" them in the snow!
James would make a path and the twins would follow behind. I just watched from the porch..;)

have i mentioned we got 22 inches yet???! this was on the the first day. it was CRAZY
Abigail sat here for at least 20 minutes just eating the snow! she loved it
James would pick her up and she'd eat the snow off her jacket! so funny
i tried to get in a picture... (proof that i was there i guess... but they didn't want to sit, they wanted to play!)

we didn't even build us a snowman...? ha. running and jumping in it was much more fun.
dad did build them a snow slide though, they had fun with that!

i LOVE christmas time

It has been an exceptional FUN busy christmas holiday this year.
Parker Adam and Abigail are loving every second of everyday with all the excitement and christmas sprit that is around us. James and I are having so much fun watching them get excited, we are just loving it.
Parker especially has been counting down the days until christmas and he just can't wait!
here he is sending off his SANTA note at the post office the other day, he was asking the post lady there all kinds of questions and making sure SANTA would get his letter. it was so funny.

note to Santa:

he always involves adam and abby and i love it.
his list isn't too hard... unless both of them are MIA sure hope SANTA finds what he wants....?
5 is such a fun age for christmas. He is excited about EVERYTHING. we have been talking about the real meaning of christmas a lot lately and he has been so cute. He was asked what gift he would give back to Jesus in his primary class a couple weeks ago (i taught his class) and he said, be kind to everyone. SO SWEET. he sure is a tender hearted little boy and we love him so much. i hope we can continue teaching him good things. he sure teaches me about the small and simple things daily. they are such sweet spirits at this age.

They made o'GINGERBREAD houses on the last day of school. he said it was "AWESOME"
i was happy because we didn't get around to making one ourselves this year...:)
our neighbor gifts
thanks to my good friend CANDIS' creativeness i had fun yummy treats to give out this year!!
parker and i had fun delivering them. i still can't believe christmas is in only a few days!
3 to be exact, parker is keeping me on track!
we had a neighborhood christmas caroling party monday night. It was a fun fun night. There was NO snow on that ground that morning but then by the end of the day we had inches and inches!!! A few feet by the next day! i wasn't sure how we would be able to go caroling but we made it! we bundled up and off we went! there was a huge group of us trekking through the snow, and down the roads. the kids throwing each other in the snow, snowball fights and everything else! the twins followed close behind. Abby LOVED it. she wasn't quite sure at first and wanted to be held but then when she wanted down, she was off! i couldn't pick her up after that. She didn't want to walk on the sidewalk.. she wanted to stomp through the mountains of snow! it was so funny. adam following the "big" boys around. pretty sure he thinks he is the same age as Parker! I hadn't ever seen parker in the snow like that before, he was running and sliding in it, throwing himself in it, crawling through it, it was great. he hasn't been much of a snow lover, he loves it now!
we went back to our neighbors house for a dinner and some fun! It was a great night. So glad we were able to go (twins were too little the first year, and the 2nd we were out of town)
great hosts, great food, and lots of laughing and chatting. THANKS for invited us!
... no pictures sadly, i didn't even take my camera! i know, weird but i didn't want it to ruin in the snow!

also i find the kids daily under the tree with their toys playing with each other. It is so funny. they love it!
i think they will be sad, when we take the tree down!
this is when abby says, LEAVE US ALONE
that look of hers.. it still is so cute! ha. most of the time anyways..

pre-school program

9.16

Parker had his pre-school CHRISTMAS PROGRAM last week and it was so cute.
the kids dressed up in their parts and acted out the nativity scene. they all did such a great job.
He has such a cute class. He loves mrs. paula and she does an amazing job with these kids.
After, they all sang songs for all us moms and dads that were there.
He did a great job and knew all the songs! He always tells me he doesn't like to sing songs, but Christmas
Songs have been an exception! He has been singing them for weeks now, mostly at every store we go into!
l am so proud of you PARKER we love you so much!
my little shepherd boy

parker with his nana. ::  parker with mrs. paula
a family picture at an event!? this doesn't happen often.
most of the time i don't even try, we are usually off chasing one of the kids... ha.
but we got one, not the best and abby was sad because she wanted to go see mrs. paula's christmas tree...
and parker isn't even looking at the camera, but we go one. i sure LOVE my family. I am so blessed.
parkers drawing of santa.. i couldn't resist.
it made me laugh when he brought that home, i was impressed though! ha
and his countdown to christmas they made at school... he is SO excited for Christmas this year, i love it!

playing in the leaves

pictures take a couple weeks ago...
now there is snow on the ground, ugh...
at least a foot and it has been snowing NON-STOP all day!
i mean, it is December 20th i guess it is okay. i think
CHRISTMAS IS IN 5 DAYS!!!

Parker's friend KONNER was ever to play that day...
he liked me to take pictures of him, unlike my little boy who doesn't like it. and tells me NO MORE MOM!
the reason we were out that day..
dad finally decided it was time to rake the leaves before the snow came:)
It was a pretty nice day out i guess.. the kids don't seem  to care ever though
they ALWAYS want to be outside!
the kids were his little "helpers"
i think it took him much longer than he anticipated... ha. jumping in the leaves was much more fun!!
If one of them has something the other has to have one too!
shovel might not be the "safest" but they were fine and both happy they had something
guess we need 3 of everything.. seems so easy!?

LATER that night, the kids spotting the neighbors reindeer and santa on their front lawn. Usually they sit and watch them from the window (wish i had a picture of this)
but we happen to be already outside, so this time i couldn't keep them away!

can i just thank you great neighbors for having such fun things at your house!!!
my kids LOVE them. and its nice cause i don't need them at our house, they can just look out the window!
seriously, it's a daily thing over here, they run to the window yelling SANTA SANTA REINDEER and etc.
it cracks me up.
they sure had fun "visiting" them that day.
i didn't realize all the cables that come with them! they were tripping all over the cords,
but that didn't seem to stop them! they ran around talking to them, fixing the spotlights and didn't want to leave! i'm sure we will be back. thanks again:)

sidenote: Yesterday i gave my 2nd lesson in RS and i think i was just as nervous as the first! I am just grateful for an amazing ward who are so happy and willing to participate it makes it so much easier and we are all teaching each other together. My mom was also there, and I am thankful for her. For her love and support she gives to me, i have the best mom ever! I am thankful for the opportunity i have to be a teacher, i am learning so much myself. i just hope i can teach them something each lesson...
The Lesson was on the SABBATH DAY. i want to work on doing spiritual and uplifting things on Sundays, spend time with my family and teach my kids about CHRIST.
i LOVE This time of year, everything is centered around Christ, and i hope we all remember the true meaning of Christmas.
5 MORE DAYS!:) I think i am more excited about Christmas as a parent than i was when i was young!!ha
