they are THREE

 my babies turned 3 TODAY
yep that is right, i can't believe it myself. can i just pretend they are still 2!?
parker still calls them "the babies" I'm pretty sure soon they will tell him not to call them babies... ha
i LOVE that they are getting older and more independent, but it is so sad at the same time!!
i LOVE days when they get along and are BEST FRIENDS... today just happen to be that day. 
(okay at least while i took these pictures... ha. ) this is a FIRST for sure that they were happy to take pictures. they have never wanted to stand together, they usually think it is funny to run from me.
so what did i do??  i kept snappin' away!! Think they know that they are 3 and that they are getting older and should listen to mom now? i sure hope so:)
i just hope they continue to stay close, and hope they know how lucky they are to have each other.

promise they did this all on their own, i was shocked myself. but i love every single one of these.

parker's BBQ party

{september 15th}
the day Parker turned 6 he "just acted older" more mature like he knew he was "older"
he knows what he wants (okay that didn't start that day... but more so)
he counted down the days until his birthday for months
( i do remember him specifically starting at 15) 
he had quite a few party ideas planned in his head
it changed from day to day
he was content one day to wait and celebrate with the twins
 and then next he wanted his OWN party
why didn't i know he wanted to have his own party ON HIS BIRTHDAY??  duh mom
-that didn't go over well with parker. guess he thought i had planned his party 
because he had other plans-
his eating habits changed over night. not kidding.
okay not drastically but he always said he would eat this or that when he turned 6 and he really has tried some new foods! that is big for him ha. but really he has been eating a lot more. i'm so proud:)
he says since he turned 6 that his muscles have grown and he flexes for me daily ha

a day before his actual birthday he wanted a "friend party" at chuck e cheese
(i felt it wasn't enough time... so i tried to get him on board with a few other ideas
plan a: BBQ with family and movie night on the deck
plan b: kangaroo zoo with a friend and BBQ with family later
plan c: wait until adam and abby's birthday and all go to chuck e cheese

he went with plan b. 
he was excited and was such a funny kid all day. kept singing happy birthday to himself
he didn't want a "normal" cake he said, he wanted a brownie cake
he did want ice- cream to go with it

he woke up to balloons all over his bed ( a tradition that continues on) 
we got ready to head to target to pick out his own present 
( might be weird, but i thought it would be fun and then he would get what he wanted:)
it was really fun actually.  it did take him 45 minutes to pick out his present but he did it!! haha

i have to record "a parker quote"of the day: 
after he picked out his dragon at the store Parker put his new toy in the car with him, seat-belted him in said, "sorry dragon the law requires all humans and even toys to wear a seatbelt.
you will be safe like me now."   haha
he cracks me up. he says funny things all day, i just need to write them down more. 

he went to kindergarten, took fruit snacks for his birthday treat
came out of school with a birthday crown on, he said everyone sang to him.
i think he smiled all day

His friend he invited to kangaroo zoo wasn't able to go so we got things ready for the BBQ
he loves going shopping with me and wants to be involved with everything.
we ended up going to mcdonalds with cousin lyla to let the kids play before the BBQ
then we headed back to start cooking before everyone showed up.
it is SO fun to have all of our family close. everyone was able to make it on short notice
(everyone except my parents and janel's family of course but those that were close came)
it was such a fun night, full of laughter, fun, singing to parker, opening presents and more fun
he was spoiled. 
his aunt/uncles and grandma/grandpa sure know how to make him feel loved and so special. 
he is one lucky boy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY
can't believe you are 6 years old but so happy you are mine!!
You are sure growing up to be a great kid. we are so proud of the boy you are becoming. You are such a great example to your little brother and sister and they look up to you so much.  gosh you teach me things daily and that the little things are important too. love you parker!
