Nora's Preschool Graduation

Nora gets to graduate from preschool twice. This is her first year. She has been in a 4 year old class, because that's where the teacher had an open spot. All the other students were going on to Kindergarten, but Nora has another year of preschool. She was cute at her graduation. Her "best friend" is sitting next to her in the orange shirt.

Miss Donna has been great, and Nora has loved going every single day.

Can't wait to see what the future brings for our little girl.

Tubes for the girl.

This poor girl had to get tubes in her ears and her adenoids removed. She was very brave, and everything went well. She started not being able to hear very much in December. When I took her to the doctor, they said the her ear drum was so swollen it was amazing she could hear anything and wasn't in pain all the time. She didn't say it hurt at all. So, after several months of trying to control the infections, we went to the ENT. He said her adenoid were probably blocking the tube, so it couldn't drain. She failed a hearing test in both ears. Awesome.
Surgery took care of her ears. The doctor said that the adenoids were all kinds of swollen and pussy. Definitely needed to come out. The anesthesiologist was great to get her distracted by starting the rocket ship. Nora pushed the buttons, and then had to blow in her mask to make the ship take off. She blew really hard, and within seconds she was out. The procedure took about 10 minutes, and then she was waking up and ready to be held by mom. She came away with tubes in her ears, no adenoids, a little gray elephant (Ellie) and a gold dollar from the Tonsil Fairy. It's always a little scary to have to put a little one through something like this, but Nora was a champ, and we haven't had a problem since.

Surprise!

We decided not to find out if we were having a boy or a girl this time around. While at the ultrasound, the tech asked if we wanted to have the "evidence" on the DVD they give us. I said that would be fine, since we don't really watch those. Then she forgot to put it on. So she gave us pictures in an envelope. I thought that would be fine too. Then the envelope sat on my dresser for a month, taunting me.

So I gave Beau a choice. Burn the envelope or open it to find out what we were having. So, on Mother's Day, we opened it.

Can't wait to meet the little guy.
