We have already hung the paintings in the Culture House of Infantes. You can see them untill 17 October.
We thank all residents of the town to participate in this collective project.
We also thank José Jurado, the tireless educator, for all the work submitted.
The “Portrait of Spain” seems to have caused more attention for “portraits” in Villanueva de los Infantes.
“The 27 of La Esteban” in a few weeks are traveling to Madrid for a future exhibition, which will be invited Belén Esteban.

“Portrait of Spain” exhibition in Villanueva de los Infantes
It seems that Campecho A.I.R Residence Grant is coming to an end. Soon we will hang all those pictures of our beloved Belén Esteban, along with others that neigbourghs have made of their family or other things.
On Tuesday October 12th at 20:00 pm we will open the exhibition “Portrait of Spain”, a project by José Jurado, that tireless teacher of Spanish Portrait.

About 25 residents of Villanueva de los Infantes have begun to make pictures of Belén Esteban, as part of the collective project “Portrait of Spain” by Jose Jurado.

Wednesday October 28 Jose Jurado publicly presented his project “Portrait of Spain” (working title) performing as part of the Campeche Residence Grant 2010.
We check out his most recent projects, working with diverse groups of citizens, and we raised the project in Villanueva de los Infantes.
“Portrait of Spain” is a project that blends the idea of “art” (The majority of society is clearly understood that art: Portrait) with the Mass Media. Placing a public figure, B.E as a model of a portrait studio. José Jurado has contacted his manager, letting them participate in the process of their project and asking permission to use her image for artistic purposes.
The 28 participants will develop as an exercise a portrait of BE, learning the techniques of acrylic. They also will paint parallel personal pictures, using other techniques. José Jurado taught concepts of color theory and assist in the creation process works.
It´s also included on rhe project calling the TV and medias as España Directo, La Tribuna, Castilla La Mancha live, Cuore, to make a report of the workshop and exhibition.
These 28 portraits will be part of an exhibition at the Cultural Center of Villanueva de los Infantes, on 12 October and subsequently exhibited at the Fresh Gallery in Madrid. Inviting personalities from TV and celebrity.

The artist José Jurado teach a painting workshop at Vva de los Infantes, at the spaces of the association Campecho, in the frame of artist residency program Campecho AIR 2010.
Paintings and canvas for drawing free.
Be taught the basics of color theory and history of artistic portrait.
Everyone has the opportunity to participate and create a work.
There will be exhibition of works by the end of the workshop.
Certificate of participation shall be issued in the shop.

PORTRAIT OF SPAIN
A Portrait Painting Workshop Free and open to all ages, in Villanueva de los Infantes 28 to October 12 at the premises of Campeche Cultural Association based in this area. Acrylic paint and small-format canvases to paint the portrait of Spain, a portrait of an important and public character of the country that workshop participants will be those who decide. At the end of the workshop will be an exhibition with all the works thereof and a food festival where the entire population will be invited to participate.
Places Workshop: 25-30 persons depending on interest.
Jose Jurado works with conceptual research processes that question the authorship of the artist and have a high degree of social commitment, forming a patchwork of local everyday reality. The important thing here is not the result, the art object, but the processes generating capacity and proposals involving social strata, usually outside the artistic assumptions, to see them again and showing the ability to discover for themselves. A reality that surrounds them lost in the passage of the everyday.
He`s interested to emphasize the experiences in real contexts, using collaborative practices and interaction with the experience of living in a specific territory.
Project open to public participation in order to establish a horizontal dialogue.
