Another 4 month recap!

My good friend Megan took our family pics back in November and i LOVED how they turned out. She totally captured the personality of each of the kids in their individual shots. I still think its a miracle she even got our 3 crazy boys to look at the camera at once!

Carter turned one back in DEC, we had just barely moved into our new house so it was a little crazy. My mom came down to help with the unpacking and we had a joint birthday party since her's is only 1 day after Carters. We also had our first snow of the winter that week and the kids had fun playing in the snow!

Did I mention we moved?! It's been a whirlwind the last few months but we bought a home in Centerville in hopes the commute would allow more time for James to be with us! We have loved the house and our new neighborhood but it was so hard to leave Orem. We had so many memories in the duplex and lots of friends that were difficult to say goodbye to. The hardest thing for me was to leave all my clients of 3-6 years. Some of them new me before I even had Benson, but I started with the rest right after he was born and I've seen them all 3 days a week for years. I miss them terribly! We have already met lots of new friends here though and look forward to all our new memories.

Comparables...

Ok so my sister has these amazing pics of her kids all at 6 months. Its so fun to see who looks like who right at the same age. I wasn't so smart however, I did just get some great pics of carter and I have some of the other boys within a few months of the same time. This is so fun to see, Carter and Benson definitely look the most alike but you can see so much indiviuatliy in all 3!
Benson 11 months
Eli 12 monts
Carter 10 months

First day of school, Eli's turns 2, and BYU alumni weekend!

Benson started pre-school again with Miss Karli, she is an awesome teacher and loves Benson to death! He was so excited to see her again and get back to school. James car was in the shop so I didn't have a car to take Benson so we had to load up the bike! Benson and Eli in the Chariot and Carter on the front seat. We were quite the sight as everyone was dropping off their kids for school. Ha ha

Benson trying to show Eli his back pack, he kept turning in circles

Eli's party was a raging success! I couldn't decide what to do for Eli's party, he just follows Benson around and likes what he likes so it was hard to know what Eli really loved for himself. Duhhh...COOKIES! Eli loves cookies, carrot cookies, zucchini cookies, raisin cookies, choc chip cookies, PB cookies. Any cookie, Eli wants it. Therefore....Cookie monster theme. Grammy came for the party and helped out A LOT, I loved having another adult to help with the kids, I'm so outnumbered. They were really excited to have her come visit just US, and have some time alone to play and do projects.

We started with food and decorating our cookie visors:)

Then a good game of throw the cookie in the cookie jar...
A hilarious game of Elmo...Elmo...Cookie monster (duck duck goose) including running and chasing all over the park.
Pin the cookie on cookies monster
Eli had lots of help opening his presents... 8 hands here i think? ha ha
The next day James played in the BYU alumni baseball game, so fun. The kids loved going to watch Dad and we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine.

Afterward a little game with all the sons. This was stinkin cute

Carter Bug

Our little Carter Bug! What a great little brother, Carter is such a happy baby and has brought a lot of joy to our home. Carter is 7 months old, he is trying to crawl soooo bad! He gets really frustrated because he seems to only move backwards when trying to reach something out in front of him. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth before falling back on his tummy, and has been doing full extension push ups now for a few weeks! He will figure it out soon but in the mean time we hear lots of squealing from him. He is eating really well, his favorite meal is apple sauce and oatmeal. He doesn't like bananas but humors his mommy and eats squash, sweet potato and mixed veggies:) He has become a great sleeper (only when in his own bed however) and gets about 8-9hrs per night now. He is the easiest little guy to get giggling, he is extremely tolerant of what Benson and Eli dish out to him, so I'm thinking he will get along just fine with his older bros. Carter is the lone Platt with icy blue eyes and blonde hair, he looks most like Benson but has his own unique characteristics. We love ya Carter

The PURE JOY of having boys...

there are no words... i'm scared for when they are teenagers! Balls and Flying, what more can you ask?

March...April...May...June

December, January and February were totally crazy and busy months, not only did we have an awful winter with bitter cold, I had the kids all day/night on my own while James studied for the bar. I'm so happy its over, I am still trying to suppress the memories of those months! But after James took the bar life became much easier, we were finally able to bless Carter. The cute little guy was so big and chubby he barely fit into his suit! It was a nice weekend with family and friends.

Benson, Eli and Carter all in one room playing in peace and harmony! Ha ha, I had to capture the moment!
Easter! Benson was so excited about Easter this year. We went to Marc and Ruby's anual egg hunt and then to the BYU football scrimmage (hence the jersey). It was an action and candy packed day. Benson and Katie are so cute, they get along so well and are always happy to do things together. Benson loves his second cousin!
YES! BIG FUN, CANDY and EGGS EVERYWHERE!
Eli got in on the action too, once he had an egg in each hand he was happy as could be.
Thanks Grammy for the Easter outfits, the ONLY way to get both of them smiling at the same time was to put them on the trampoline!
 Cute baby Carter:)
Eli and his cowboy boots, he is so adorable! He only wanted his boots, no shirt no shoes no "biper" what a cute little cowboy.
Oh the fun... right up until Eli starts screaming!
Law School graduation! Yahoo, it was finally official! Even though James had already graduated and passed the bar it was true closure and I had to hold back the tears thinking of the last few years of law school. Its so great to be on this end:)
Carter wasn't sure about Dad in that hat, he was a bit freaked out. Ha ha
Memorial weekend was awesome, one of my clients invited us to their cabin at Bear River. It was so fun, they had a ranger that accommodated our family of 5! The boys loved it, they were covered in mud by the end but couldn't get enough. Benson is sad in the pic because we made him take the helmet off, and he knew it was over. But Carter slept the whole time and Eli had so much dirt in his teeth from smiling.

Benson's pre-school graduation program- he made me so mad, he did not want to participate at all! It was all I could do to even get these pics. He didn't want to sing any of the songs, do any of the gestures (with the exception of the star) or even race in the relays at the end. So I put Eli in the race and he was so excited to win a medal, and Benson was so happy for him. I'm holding out for next year... maybe Benson just knew he wasn't really graduating so he is waiting until he will actually be moving on to kindergarten!

No problem to get him to participate in the ice cream however...

 Carter loves his jumy:)
In june I went out to San Fran to visit Angela, wow did I need an Angela weekend! We packed so many activities into 3 days we hardly sat down! We went to a few unique sights in the city, went to a classical music concert, ran the Dipsea, went to the Sound of Music in an awesome mountain theater, paddle boarded, ran on Angel Island, and drove out to the coast where it was obviously foggy and windy! I can always count on Angela to pack in the fun:) Love ya Ang

Angela always has these great ideas for photo opps

So this was supposed to be a stunning view of the coastline... we lasted about 5 min and couldn't handle the wind.
