Paris, ooh la la

Carly and LeeAnn are in Paris and wow is it huge!    So far we have seen Notre Dame and it is huge and beautiful.  Then it took us 2 days non stop to go through the Louvre and you guessed it, it is HUGE and beautiful!  What is it about standing and walking slowly around all day long that makes your feet hurt so bad.  We came limping out!  Carly loved the greek statues the most and then the endless paintings but some of the coolest exhibits were the Louvre itself.  The ceilings were painted masterpieces and the actual building itself was lived in and furnished which there were examples of the actual apartments that the royals lived in.

We also went to Versaille and that was HUGE and spectacular.  The gardens were massive and unique with little mazes all through them.  It was fun to imagine living in opulence back then.

Tomorrow we go to the Eiffle Tower and that will wrap it up for the highlights of Paris.  Of course we have enjoyed more than I have written and we will have many stories to tell when we get home.

Carly Art

Carly's artwork . check it out What watercolors!  The link should work now. Sorry

Carly's moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in February 2010 from Houston Texas where she was living with her mother, LeeAnn. I (Brad her father) and her brother TJ, who was released from the Army to be with her.have also moved to Utah to be with Carly. We are all still in the process of settling and living with relatives for the short-term. Carly's family are all here in Utah for her and enjoying time with their wonderful seventeen year old, Carly.

Carly's list of adventures includes seeing the volcano in Hawaii, ride horses, and to visit Europe again. We had a wonderful time with Carly in Hawaii. Carly visited the big Island Hawaii and the beautiful garden island of Kauai where she took several glass blowing glasses when the weather was too cold for the beach. Carly found some great teachers there in Kapaa on Kauai, Kyle and Andy who own the Glass Shack. Carly also picked up a ukulele and learned 3 or 4 songs while she was in Hawaii. Now she can play; let's see...., piano, violin, cello and ukulele, and since ukulele is just a 4 string guitar capo-ed at the 5th fret, I expect she will pick up guitar without difficulty too with plenty of watching her dad and uncle Dan.

Carly is at a dude ranch in Tucson, Arizona with her brother, mother and friends, riding horses, a bit like the movie "City Slickers". When Carly returns from her dude ranch adventure, we will then travel to trip to Europe and target the places Carly really wants to see - she is a great artist and art lover, as well as a great musician. Hopefully Carly will feel great for such travels. She certainly has a great time, and has the heart for adventure, however she does get tired before all the fun is had. At present, Carly has minimal symptoms and we hope that continues. We try not to worry about things we cannot change after all.

Carly also enjoys being with her teenage friends greatly and living with her uncle Dan and Dan's partner Lonnie, who takes great care of Carly as well and keeps a safe watchful eye out for Carly Until LeeAnn can live there. Dan and Lonnies' house is a light-hearted atmosphere with plenty of entertainment and joy. It is a great place for Carly. There is a fire pit in the backyard where she and her friends hang out, a fun garage and party room with tons of Rock and Roll from her uncle Dan (and sometimes her dad joins in) and his guitars. And there is a small apartment out in back of Dan's house which is being remodeled as a place for Carly and her mother LeeAnn to live. It's a great setup and Carly is very very happy.

Carly is doing very well since her tests showed Ewing Sarcoma had returned after a one year remission. Her medical prognosis has not changed, however, Carly is very upbeat and refuses to dwell on or even think about cancer, or anything remotely negative. She is living life to the fullest extent possible. All her loved ones are supporting her and hoping for the miracle that Carly and many of us believe in. She is a very happy and upbeat person with incredible optimize and fight and won't tolerate any negative thinking. A positive and confident outlook are most important for her. Miracles can happen, so we support Carly's bold approach and hope & pray for the best. All for now... Brad Davis (Carly's Dad)
