A Whole Year Already?!

I can't believe its already been a whole year since my little baby was born. This year instead of hanging out in the hospital we had most of the Johnson family over for Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious, if I do say so myself, with baked mashed potatoes, candied walnut salad, stuffing, rolls, corn, pies, and of course turkey. It was supposed to be my first time cooking a turkey but when it came down to it I really just bought the turkey and Tina did the work on that one. (Thanks Tina!)

After dinner Cade and I headed down to Mesa for some shopping and Conner's birthday bash. We started at Target at midnight to get an IPod Touch and cheap movies. I figured since the Target by my parent's house isnt very popular that it would be the best choice. I don't know how busy other Targets were but this one had a line going all along the side of it and through the back alley. But the line moved pretty quicly and in no time we were in a separate electronics line. That was a slow moving line so after while I thought I would be proactive and get in the check out line. By the way, Target was so organized, they had their checkout line going up and down all the cleaning supplies and personal hygiene aisles at the front so it wasn't in the way of everyone shopping and it moved pretty quick. Unfortunately, we could have checked out all of our stuff at the electronics line and I didn't even need to get in the checkout line. But soon we were off to Kohls. Never again will I go to Kohls in the first few hours of Black Friday. We were getting something for Ashley from my mom which I cannot say on here, and I knew the line was long, but it was long at Target too so I thought, I might as well stay here for a half hour rather than drive home, drive back in the morning and risk the item being gone. Well a good hour and a half later we finally got to the front of the line. I never saw a line move so slow in my life. Even when we were next in line we still waited almost ten minutes before we got checked out. I don't know what the problem was, maybe they just need more registers but it was dumb. Cade even went across the street to Walmart to get some other cheap movies while I waited in line and he said there wasn't even a line there (of course the movies were gone too).

On Friday we had another Thanksgiving dinner with the Rodgers and had cake and presents for Conner. We also had a trivia game to see who knew the most about Conner, way to go Emma! Conner has always thought of you as his favorite girl cousin, even from both sides of the family :) I made a scarecrow cupcake cake from a book I have. It turned out cute, just don't look at the model because then mine isn't as cute.

I had been trying to teach Conner how to blow for the last month so he could blow out his candle. We've been practicing blowing dandelions, bubbles, and on hot food but he just isn't getting it and did not blow out his candle, but at least he enjoyed his cupcake.

His cousins helped him open his presents.

Conner just loves his cousin Eli

I still can't believe how fast this year has gone and how big my little guy is already. Well technically he still isn't big, he is 19.7 lbs (19%) and 28.5 in (7%), but he sure walks around and climbs all over like a big kid. Happy Birthday buddy!! We love you! Thanks for being such a happy boy who sleeps so good!
