Animal Lover

Aiden is such an animal lover! He spent over an hour yesterday playing with his farm set all by himself. He loves to set all of his farm animals up, put them away, and then do it all over again.
I can't believe my little man is going to be 5 next month. :(
(BTW - The mark on Aiden's nose is from a major bike wreck yesterday. He crashed pretty bad. But, I was so proud of him. He got back on his bike and rode it the rest of the way home with sweat, blood and tears all over his body!)

Bad Mom

Proof that I am a Bad Mom....

Whitney got tired of waiting on me to fix breakfast so she got into the freezer, grabbed the bag of frozen hashbrowns, sat on the couch and ate them.

Jeremy is doing a lawn project that requires a lot of rocks. A truck came today to deliver more rocks and dumped them in the driveway. I made Aiden pick up the rocks in the hot sun.
He wasn't too happy about it!

DABO

The kids LOVE their Dabo.
That is what the boys started calling him and it has stuck!
Our neighbor, Lily, said that she's not allowed to call her Dad Dabo.
I guess she tried it on him and he didn't like it. lol!
Jeremy is such a great Dabo!!!

KidsFest

Yeah right....
It was pretty lame. They made it sound like a kids paradise but we were all disappointed (especially Connor) when we got there (AND had to pay $20 just to go in!).

Whitney mostly just "stomped" around.

The highlight of the "Festival" was dancing next to the stage. Aiden has got some sweet moves!!

Don't forget the silly picture props

The best part... The bike rack outside!

Three's A Crowd

The girls that I babysit had to spend the night last night while their parents went to Chicago for a funeral. The bathtub was a little crowded... but Whitney LOVED it!

Little Miss Independent

Whitney loves to feed herself these days. Here she is enjoying a bowl of applesauce. I know 1 picture would have been enough, but they're just so cute!!!

ALL DONE!

School's In Session

Connor started 1st grade and Aiden started Pre-School this week.

(These pictures were Aiden's ideas. He thought they'd be good pictures... and they are! He's got a good eye!)

This is Miss Becky... Aiden's teacher.
I know that look on his face. You can tell he's nervous. :(

Haircut DRAMA!

WHY?!?!?

Jeremy likes to shave his head every 6 months or so. I hate it! But... what I hate more is that he always wants to shave Connor's head too. This time Jeremy let Connor shave his head. Then Connor and Jeremy BOTH begged me to let Jeremy shave Connors hair. I said no, no, no. But Connor was actually crying and they were both saying that it was a bonding moment for them that brings them closer together, blah, blah, blah.
Well.... I finally gave in.
In the background you can see Jeremy's hair.
They decided to leave it as a Mohawk for the Ice Cream Social that night and then shave it all off later that night. We even put kool-aid in his hair to turn it red.
Connor thought he was really cool.
THEN... the drama really began.

As soon as we went inside and Connor saw that there were hundreds of people there including all of his classmates he had a full-on PANICK attack! He made sure someone was always on both sides of him to "cover him". He constantly had an eye out for anyone he knew and when he saw someone he ran the other direction. Poor guy! He couldn't relax the entire time. I really felt bad for him and had to hold back the "I told you so's".
As soon as we got home Jeremy shaved the rest of it and Connor was much happier!
I still miss his cute hair though. I told Jeremy this is the LAST time. They'll have to find another way to bond!

Whitney update

Whitney's new trick:
If you ask her "Where's you belly" she will raise up her shirt and show you her cute little belly! :)At the grocery store they have a horse that is free to ride. I have tried to put Whitney on it several times before but she starts to cry and clings to my neck like a little monkey. This time she decided to give it a try. However, you can tell by the look on her face that she is being very cautious and doesn't dare move an inch.

He did it!!!

When my Mom was here she noticed all the neighborhood kids riding their bikes in the Cul-De-Sac together except Aiden. This is because the bike he liked to ride got stollen and his other bike has a bad tire that always goes flat and it's too little for him. So, she went out and bought him a new bike for an early birthday present. We gave it to him WITHOUT training wheels though. He was not happy about that but Jeremy has been working with him and now he LOVES it!!!

YEAH AIDEN!!!!

Rainy Summer Day

Whitney looks like a young "Juno" here.

Aiden and Lily stuffing water balloons in all the right places.

Couldn't Resist

I'm just now getting around to looking at all of our videos from the cruise. There were a few that I just couldn't resist to put on my blog. Jeremy will probably kill me but they make me laugh so hard when I see them. I almost feel like we're back on the ship. :)

Jeremy is pretending to be hypnotised. The hypnotist is making everyone dance like Elmo. Jeremy is the first person on the left.

Jeremy sang Rich Girl at Karoke. He was not happy with his performance. So we left right after this song.

He stopped in the bathroom on our way out and heard the song Kiss playing in the bathroom. He came running out of the bathroom and said "C'Mon Amy. We're going back in there. I'm going to redeem myself." He went out there and blew everyone away. All the girls even got up and started dancing on the stage. It was awesome!!!

Sleep Over

I promised the boys and the neighbor girls that they could have a sleep over some time before school started. So, last night was the night. They made a list of all the things they wanted to do for the sleep over. We made an attempt to do most of it.
The girls wanted to do the boys hair.

They wanted to ride bikes at St. Annes Parking Lot

Howling like wolves at the park and collecting rocks
A homemade puppet show
After we got home that night everyone was hot and sweaty! All the kids wanted showers. Connor honestly couldn't understand why he and Julia couldn't take a shower together. He was so upset when I said no. These girls are here so much they are just like our family, so I guess it just seemed normal to them. lol!

Grandma and Grandpa Cook

We were lucky enough to get a quick visit from my parents last week.
It was like time stood still for Grandpa and Whitney. As soon as she realized who he was she immediately got into position and let him tickle her back just like he did every day for the 3 months we stayed with them while Jeremy got us settled in KC.
The boys and Grandpa got matching Durags. Don't they look mean?
Connor found a nice pillow while Grandpa caught some zzz's.
My mom and I went and got pedicures.

It was great to see you both. Thanks for coming!!!
