So... Michelle Obama came to visit Vicenza during her European tour. She wanted to do a book reading with 1st-3rd graders so Whitney received a special invitation to participate.

Venice
Jeremy booked a hotel in Venice for Friday night to celebrate Father's Day. The Michelle Obama thing made me 2 hours late so we already got off to a late start.

| We finally found our hotel but were SOOOO disappointed to find out that Michelle Obama and her entire staff were also staying at the same hotel. Not only did that mean security boats all over in the water making it difficult to even get into the hotel and the hotel was crawling with Americans that travel with her, but the worst part was that they closed the roof top infinity pool and sky bar down for their own private party. This was the primary reason why we paid extra for this hotel. Needless to say... it was a total disappointment! |

| On the plus side - Venice in the morning was delightful! I loved the energy and liveliness of watching the cruise ships getting ready to leave and all the local shops setting up for the day. This is a part of Venice that we never see when just coming for the day. I enjoyed just taking it all in and did not even get my camera out to take more than just a couple of pictures. |

| We made it home safe and sound and in time to celebrate Fathers Day with the 3 best kids in the world!! They sure are lucky to have such a wonderful Father!!! We love you Jeremy! |
