A year in review 2010

I can't believe that this year has come and gone so quickly. I always think to get a Christmas letter out or send a photo greeting card but with lack of time and money, again this year it did not happen. So I am using my blog to do just that.

At the beginning of the year, Chris and I decided that it is time to put our condo up for sale and try to buy a house while the market is affordable. We have been looking in the Eagle Mountain area and can;t wait til we can get moved there. We have not sold our home and it has been a few months since anyone had come by to see it but we are hoping that in 2011 will be the year that we will get it sold and by a home.

Chris- Chris is still working for Wendy's as a Co-general Manager but in January his title gets changed to Store-manger. He applied this month to be a General Manager which means he will run his own store. He will be gone more but it is the next step in his career. We have not heard back about his application but we a hopeful he we get the promotion in 2011 sometime.

Cathy- Cathy is still working for Smith's as the Back-up Scan Coordinator and working Marykay Cosmetics alittle. She keeps busy by taking care of our 3 children and our home. She was released in August as the Education Counselor in the Relief Society and was called to be the primary pianist. She was a little nervous because it has been 5 years since she really played the piano and does not know the primary songs as well as the hymns, and we do not have our piano at the condo to practice. We purchased a keyboard and she is managing just fine playing again. She missed Relief Society but loves being in the primary and the twins love that she is in there with them.

Matthew- This year he was not able to start Kindergarten because his birthday is in Oct so he started preschool instead. He loves the routine of preschool. He is learning how to write his name and can recognized all the letters in his name, he can count to twenty and can recognized the numbers to 20 and can tell you what numbers together make a number. He can count and add number as well. He plays really well with is toys and has a strong imagination. He involves his brother and sister in his playing and can be the leader. He loves to sing, loves I-Spy books.

Ashleigh- She also was not able to attend Kindergarten and is also in preschool. She loves preschool because she is around more girls her age. She has a friend name Emma. She can write her name and can recognize letters in her name. She can color in the lines and make pretty pictures. She LOVES to color, she LOVE music, dance and to sing. She will tell you stories, she will be your best friend, she also can remember things really well. She is such a "girly, girl.

Joshua- He is still in nursery and loves it. He is talking more and more and with difficult words. He is sad that he cannot go to preschool with the twins but loves his alone time with mommy or daddy. He always loves to play with the twins and do what they are doing. He always thinks that he can do what they do. He is always happy and loves to cuddle still and give kisses.

I hope that this letter, finds all of you and your families well and happy. We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New 2011 Year.

Holiday Activities.

For Thanksgiving, it was my parents year for us to come spend time with them. We switch off every other year so that it is fair and each family gets time with us. Joshua was so worn out from being at my parents and playing with his brother, sister and cousin that he fell asleep in the car and then did not want to wake up to go inside the house. Chris put home on the couch without taking his coat or shoes off and he only woke up enough to hold on to his favorite blanket that he always wants when he sleeps. He stayed like this for a couple of hours.

This month has been a busy one for our family. It started out with our Ward Christmas party. It was such a fun night and it was nice that all five of us could go as a family. They had activities for the children which our three participated. They decorated cookies, made ornamates, colored Christmas pictures and wrote letters/drew pictures for Santa. For entertainment, they invited the Taylorsville High School Bell Choir. The music was just beautiful and the players we amazing to play so well. Ashleigh loved it so much that she wants to learn how to play bells someday. Then at the end they invited Santa Clause to talk to each child. Our children were excited to sit on Santa's lap and tell him the one thing that want from him.

We had a few days that it snowed alot and the kids enjoyed playing in it, eating it and making snow balls. We never did make a snowman or went sledding before it melted but they still had fun and I am sure we will get to that if it snows again. This is what how much it snowed after a whole weekend in Dec. We have had alot of rain this week so it is pretty much melted and we have to wait for it to snow again.

Then, the twins' preschool had a program for Christmas. They had it at the Sandy Library. The children of the class and the younger class sang Christmas songs and recited poems that they have learned through the school year and Santa and Mrs. Clause came and heard the program and then visited with each child, even Joshua got to visit even though he was not feeling the best.

We have gone to see Christmas lights around the neighborhood and a home in Murray that is completely decorated and the the lights blink with music that is on a radio station. We have played in the snow, and watched many Christmas movies that have been on t.v.. The Ward Choir had a Christmas program this last Sunday that I got to sing with, and they music director invited the primary children to sing "Away in a Manger." for the program. I was asked to substitute playing the organ the first Sunday of Dec and it was the first time in 5 years since I played. I was nervous but it came back to me like I never left it and I sort of miss it.
In the next few days will be just as busy and I hope not to be to long to write about it. Until then; Merry Christmas.
