GRIZZLY BEAR IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

I just finished watching an Obama add concerning McCain's choice of running mate. It is titled, "He made his choice". It actually avoids talking about Gov. Palin but does give one interesting fact. The fact is presented without content so it will seem to democrats that McCain is just another George Bush.

The add states that McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. When it says this it means that bills that passed the senate and that Bush signed into law, McCain voted for those bills 90% of the time. Sounds like he is a Bush man, doesn't it?

Well, so that you have that fact in context, here is the rest of the story. 90% of the time the bills that are passed by the senate are passed unanimously. Say what? Yeah, that means that 90% of the time Obama voted with Bush as did the rest of the senate. As Paul Harvey would say, "Now you know the REST of the story".

STEPHANIE IN FRONT OF MELROSE ABBY IN MELROSE, SCOTLAND

The other day Obama basically compared Russia's invasion of Georgia to our going into Iraq. He said that the US set a bad example for Russia.

YOU MUST BE KIDDING!

Does he really think that the invasion by Russia of a sovereign country with a democratically elected government is the same as the US going into Iraq to free it's people for a despot that used weapons of mass destruction on his own people as being the same thing?! You can't be serious!

What a left wing, socialist moron!

Sunset over Mt Jefferson in Central Oregon

From Wikipedia:

"A sanctuary city is a term given to a city in the United States that follows certain practices that protect illegal immigrants. These practices can be by law (de jure) or they can be by habit (de facto). The term generally applies to cities that do not allow municipal funds or resources to be used to enforce federal immigration laws, usually by not allowing police or municipal employees to inquire about one's immigration status. The designation has no legal meaning

Cities in the United States began designating themselves as sanctuary cities during the 1980s.[1] They are Washington, D.C.; New York City; Los Angeles; Chicago; San Francisco; Santa Ana; San Diego; Salt Lake City; Phoenix; Dallas; Houston; Austin; Detroit; Jersey City; Minneapolis; Miami; Denver; Baltimore; Seattle; Portland, Oregon; New Haven, Connecticut; and Portland, Maine. These cities have adopted "sanctuary" ordinances banning city employees and police officers from asking people about their immigration status."

From LA Times:

"'Sanctuary city' no haven for San Francisco family's grief

Tony Bologna, right, and his 20-year-old son, Michael, at a family function in 2008. They were slain in their car June 22, in San Francisco
A third-generation resident says city officials are responsible for the slayings of his brother-in-law and nephews, allegedly by an undocumented Salvadoran immigrant.

Kennedy has spent much of the time since telling anyone who will listen that San Francisco and cities like it should stop shielding illegal immigrants from federal authorities and that officials here are responsible for his loved ones' deaths.

Suspect Edwin Ramos awaits trial in San Francisco County Jail, a system that released him nearly three months before the slayings. Convicted twice on felony charges as a juvenile, he was protected then from immigration officials because of the city's sanctuary policy.

"Any mayor, any board of supervisors that passes these laws should be prosecuted to the fullest," Kennedy said in a recent interview.

"This is not the United States of San Francisco . . . My family was the sacrificial lamb in this."

Immigration activists have embraced the grieving family, using the June 22 deaths of Anthony, Matthew and Michael Bologna to call for change.

On June 22, Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Matthew, 16, and Michael, 20, were driving back to their home in this city's Excelsior neighborhood from a family get-together at Kennedy's home.

Driving south on a narrow street, Bologna stopped the car, inadvertently blocking the path of a Chrysler 300M, authorities said. The Chrysler's driver pulled up alongside and began shooting. The father and his oldest son died at the scene. The younger boy died later at San Francisco General Hospital.

"That Sunday, we had breakfast, hugged each other, kissed each other and the kids," Kennedy said.

Later that day, the phone rang, and "the homicide inspectors told my wife her brother was shot and killed along with his son . . . . "

Bologna "was a wonderful individual and a great father," Kennedy said. "To have him assassinated in broad daylight with my two nephews is incomprehensible."

It has been suggested that cities that designate themselves as "sanctuary cities" should have the federal funds they receive reduced by 50%. I personally think it should be 100%. If a city wants to act like it is autonomous from the laws of the United States to protect people here illegally, then they should be on their own as far as federal funds are concerned. I like the quote from the brother-in-law of the slain man, "This is not the United States of San Francisco.....".

Myself, Mike Laughery (friend from church), Keith Young (Josh Pegg's father-in-law)with the Grand Coulee Dam in the background, located in central Washington on the Columbia River.

Another Dadism from when he would order breakfast in a restaurant. The conversation would go something like this:

Dad: "I would like hashbrowns, toast and two eggs"
Waitperson (ah, political correctness - don't you love it?): "How do you like your eggs?"
Dad: "I like them a lot"
Waitperson: "No, I mean how do you like them cooked?"
Dad: "OH! I like them even better cooked!"

I heard him ask many times when buying something in a store, "How much do I owe you? A buck two fifty?"

Well, it seems that I get very little interest here considering the lack of comments so this will likely be my last post.
