May in a nutshell

Josh's 8th birthday!! I can't believe that I have a 8 year old. We gave Josh his own set of scriptures and a CTR ring for his b-day. Eight is such a neat birthday. He was so funny this year..instead of having a party he said he wanted $100. That made life really easy on me and definitely cheaper! Dan and I took him out to dinner and shopping that night. It was a lot of fun.

Josh and Savannah's good friend Shawnee. She gave Josh a way cute Target gift card for his birthday, he had fun shopping with that.

This is my big kindergarten graduate!! The kindergarten program was so cute. The theme was "When I grow up" Savannah was a nurse, she had a darling part in her program.

She is so excited about being in the big 1st grade next year! She had such a fun year and learned so much. She's my little smarty pants.
Slip and slidin' time! O.k. so I totally forgot how much fun these things are. It is such a great way to cool off. The grass is always completely soaked but, hey, they're having a great time.
Savannah and Her Dad at the dance recital
She looked so beautiful. Dan had to drive the fire engine over cause he was working that night but he wanted to be there to get her off the stage. She was so happy that he showed up.

Memorial weekend at the cabin. Can I just say that it was freezing!! The end of May and it snowed on and off for the full 3 days. Josh and Seth were determined that they were still going to go fishing. Of coarse they convinced grandpa to take them in the snow but don't let those proud faces fool you...Savannah and Spence caught the fish.

The big fishermen!!!!

Yes, that is snow!!! Crazy, huh.
My cousin Natalie and her family came up for Friday and Saturday and we had a great time. Grandpa and the dads were sure troopers and still took them for rides and fishing.

Fire Auxilary Run

Yesterday we had such a fun morning. The Fire Auxilary (which is the wives of the fire fighters) put on a 1 mile fun run,5k,10k to benefit the burn center. It was open to the community for anyone to sign up and it turned out to be quite a lot of people that did sign up. I signed my whole fam up. Dan did the 1 mile run with the kids and my sis-in-law, Amy, and I did the 5k. We had a blast. I even got 4th place in my age bracket (who knows there was probably only 5 women in my age bracket sign up, but I'll take it).
Earlier that morning Josh was telling me that he hoped that he could win the race so I explained to him that the run was just supposed to be fun and that it was all for a good cause, blah blah..so he tells me "Um, Mom, every run is a race and I'm going to win" so Josh sprinted the whole mile and definatley won!!!
What a fun Saturday morning.

Girls Weekend Pics

I'm finally posting my pics of Women's conference. We had such a great time. There was great classes, great shopping and awesome company. I just have to say that I think that I have the best family in the entire world. We stayed up most of the night chatting and laughing. It was awesome. I came back completely sleep deprived but shockingly refreshed. I don't think I've seen so many women in one place. The great thing about it was we were all there for the same purpose and we all left spiritually edified.
We had the amazing opportunity to have President Thomas S. Monson there to speak to us at the closing session. I have never felt the spirit so strongly as I did that day when HE walked in. We all stood as He walked into the Marriot Center and a few women started to sing "We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet", soon all 15,000 women were singing with the exception of me and those that just couldn't get the words out. When I opened my mouth to sing I was so overcome by the spirit that all I could do was blink back the tears. There is no doubt in my mind that Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of God. I will never forget what I felt there that day.

Twilight Preview

Here's the preview for Twlight. I didn't think Edward was hot at first but now I like him. Especially in the scene where he is starring at her in the parking lot, dang! ENJOY!!!

Twilight

O.k. so I know I haven't posted my pics from womens conference and I promise that I will soon..I've been playing catch up with house work and kids, etc. Anyway, just a quick post, for those of you who love the Twilight book series like me, my sis in-law, Amy, put the most awesome movie preview on her blog from Twilight. The movie doesn't come out until December, the preview is so good. I've had mixed emotions about a movie of Twilight coming out because the book was so good and in my own head I have a picture what Edward and Bella look like. Even though those who are starring in the movie aren't who I pictured (if only Matthew McConaughey was 17) it was still dang good. Now i'm way excited about the movie. I'll try to get it on my blog but until then if you want to see it click on Neal and Amy's blog and watch it.
