Happy Thanksgiving

Even with all of the stress over the economy, the world catastrophes and personal challenges, we are so fortunate!

It seems like the months fly by so quickly and here we are at the beginning of our holiday season when it seemed just like yesterday that a new year had just begun.

I posted a couple of my Thanksgiving cards created for family members. I made a variety this year because none of our family will be here and I know they will compare cards and I didn't want them to all look alike.

We are blessed with wonderful friends who will share Thanksgiving dinner with us and we look forward to a great day and hope yours is equally happy.

* * *

I forgot to mention that we have a new puppy, named Peaches. She was a rescue from a family that was no longer able to keep her. She is almost six months old and has the energy like none I've seen. We have spent a good deal of time working with her to break old habits, setting new boundaries and teaching her that shoes, papers and eyeglasses are not good to eat.

Our existing Golden Retriever was not thrilled but is also learning to cope with a new buddy sharing her space. On the positive side, she is better leash trained and loves water. I am grateful that we have a fenced yard; otherwise, she would be in the pond continually. She has already had three baths because of her dips to chase after the ducks. In time she will have us trained and we will all get along much better.

Isn't she pretty? (In a matter of days we went from a beautiful, sunny day to a cold foggy one.)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

OFFICIAL WINNER of blog candy

Wendy, POSTAL ORPHAN, provided me with her mailing address just in time to win my blog candy -- the beautiful poinsettia image and the verses, all by Inka Stamps.

Blog Candy Winner

Postal Orphan was the winner of my blog candy; HOWEVER, she did not include an email address in her comment. I have attempted to contact her by leaving a message on her own blog and also posting below her comment on my blog to no avail. She is either out-of-town or has not been able to access her computer.

Thus, I will wait until Sunday evening, November 23rd. If I do not hear from her a new winner will be selected.

The images from Inka Stamps would make terrific holiday cards so I am eager to send out the blog candy so the stamps can be used this season.

PLEASE REVIEW PREVIOUS POSTS.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Foil Enhanced Card

Another experiment...I added foil to an embossed design to make this thank you card for a friend.

As you know, obtaining copies of glitter, glimmer, foils and shimmer are difficult. In real life, the background and border are a light blue-grey and the foil was done in copper.

At least you get the idea.

REMINDER: A few more days to leave a comment for my BLOG CANDY which will go to the lucky winner of the draw on Saturday. (See previous posts in honor of Jen Crossley joining Inka Stamps Design Team)

Our Indian Summer has Ended

The weather has gone from a colorful "Indian Summer" to a cold winter day almost overnight. The snow is half way down the mountains and I know it will freeze tonight so I went out and picked the last of my roses.

Hopefully, this is just an early sign of winter and warmer days will return. I don't know if that is wishful thinking or not but we could use a few more days to complete our fall yard cleanup.

ENJOY!

And, there are ten days remaining to win the blog candy outlined in the previous post. If you haven't left a comment under that post, now is the time.

HOPE EVERYONE VOTED!
