Jesus is in my heart

This morning Cody took Colton to school like he always does. He was sitting down at the table eating breakfast with his friends while Cody was talking to his teacher. Colton looked up at Daddy with his hand on his chest and said, "My heart, I feel my heart moving. Jesus is moving in my heart." Such a sweet boy and I love the way his mind works and how he thinks. He knows Jesus is in his heart and in Mommy, Daddy, and Barrret's heart. He will say randomly during the day that he knows Jesus is with him. Makes me very happy to hear him talk like that.

Preview of Barret's newborn pics

Barret was 10 days old and we took his newborn pictures with our wonderful photographer!!

Cody wasn't feeling well that day and wasn't in the mood for pictures. He went to the doctor after the pictures and found out he had pneumonia!! No wonder he wasn't feeling like taking pictures. Poor guy, I felt do bad for him and you can tell that he didn't feel great.

Then Colton was freaked out by Barret's umbilical cord! He was completely weirded out when he had to hold him because his cord was exposed. So his smile wasn't his usual. We will have to take our own pics once his cord falls off.

Colton is in love with Barret and adores him. He is such a great big brother and you can tell how much he loves Barret. It makes us so proud to see how he is with him.

An afternoon of painting

Well the weather here has been dark, cold, and rainy lately. What better weather to have an afternoon of fun painting with my little guy. Colton is a huge fan of painting so he was very excited.

I bought some wooden cut outs on sticks from Hobby Lobby. A friend of mine had we kids paint them and them stuck them in her plants around the house. Loved the idea and Colton was real excited about it too. He painted a star and a bird house. He chose the colors he wanted to use and did all of the planning himself. I just held the star and helped him change brushes when he switched colors. We put one in each of our house plants. He was so proud sticking it in the pot and seeing his work displayed.

Next he wanted to just paint on paper. He. chose his colors again and we talked about how you use different paint brushes so you don't mix all the colors together. I tried to get him to finger paint, but Colton is not one to enjoy getting all dirty. He cracks me up! He's ok with having dirt and mud on his hands but other things just weirds him out.

We had a great afternoon talking and painting together.

Christmas at the Tiller's with Special Guest, SANTA!!

The Tiller's host this Christmas party every year for the kiddos. Such a fun night with lots of friends!! This is the first year we have been since Colton was born. Living in Katy it has made it difficult to come in for the party. Last time we went to this party Cody dressed up and played Santa!! Now this time we are here we have Colton to go and visit Santa! This year the party was a few days before Christmas. It worked out perfectly since we were in town.

It was such a fun night. The kids all made ornaments. They had glass balls that they poured paint into and made a design by pouring different color paints in. The kids all loved it!! Reese helped Colton make his they had fun doing it together! Colton loves Reese!!

We got all the kids in the living room and we were taking their picture when all of a sudden we hear footsteps on the roof! Yep, it was Santa!!! He came inside and all the kiddos were so excited!!! Colton was clinging to me pretty freaked out! Remember, going to see Santa at Bass Pro this year didn't go very well! Santa talks to all the kids and then he pulls out a present and calls each kid by name up to get their present. (All the parents brought a gift wrapped for Santa to give them) Colton's name is called and it wasn't really happening at all. I being the crazy mom tried to push him over there. He was so upset. When he reads this and sees the pics when he is older he will either laugh or get mad at mom for forcing him to Santa. Got done with presents then he called all the kids up to take individual pics with him. Well, guess how this was going to go! Santa was very nice and told me a plan for us to get a picture. I held Colton in front of Santa. He had no idea he was behind him and they started taking pics then Santa came up right behind us to be in our picture! We turned Colton around, a bit shocked at first but then Santa talked to him and Colton did great he talked to him an gave him a high five. He had to make sure Santa knew he wanted a Dolphin Tale movie. He was able to tell him and was so excited after. I was so proud of him. And grateful that Santa was so patient. Hopefully I didn't traumatize him this year and next year he will be great when we go see Santa!!!

The night was great with lots of fun and many memories were made!! Thank you to the Tiller's for throwing a fun evening seeing Santa!

After the party we went with Lanny, Holly, Reese, and Riley to New Braunfels to see the lights in town square and we are at Myron's, our favorite steak house. Myron's is where we went to celebrate the night we got engaged. We had a fun night watching the kids run around looking at the lights and taking fun pics.

Going to see Santa

Every year we go to Bass Pro to see Santa. This year we had been talking about Santa so much. The past 2 years Colton cried and was not a fan of sitting on his lap. We told him how nice he was and how he knows how good he has been. Colton was ready to see Santa and sit on his lap! Jay & Shannon's little boy Jackson was there with us. We told Colton he had to show Jackson how fun it is to see Santa since Colton is older.

We wait in line and he starts to get anxious. He is starting to get upset and telling us no I don't want to see Santa!! We, well I try to talk to him about it and tell him how nice he is, and so on. Of course I want to get a Santa picture so we have one from every year. He's going down hill real fast and started to get upset. We are the next ones in line and Nope we are out of there. Cody wasn't happy with me trying to force him to go see him. So we watch Jackson see Santa and sit on his lap, but that still didn't make Colton want to go see him. We walked around and looked at him and I was able to get him as close as I could to take a pic. The entire time he kept looking over his shoulder like Santa was going to come and get him. Poor thing!! Why are kids so afraid of Santa? He's a cute old man, with a big belly, and a fluffy beard! Hopefully next year with Barret's first Christmas we will have a success with both boys!!

Decorating the Christmas tree

It's that time of year again, our favorite, Christmas!! We thought Colton was going to remember all the Christmas decorations, we were wrong! He didn't remember anything! He didn't remember the train either!! It was fun unpacking everything and setting the house up for Christmas and of course seeing his face and the excitement when we pulled decorations out! He enjoyed putting ornaments on the tree and we even let him put the angel on top. We had a wonderful night together as a family decorating and watching Christmas movies!!
