San Antonio BBQ Cook Off

BBQ Cook Off is always the weekend of Dad's birthday. We were already in town for the big surprise birthday so we planned on taking Colton to his first Cook Off. This year they moved it to the parking lot of Sea World. Now, you can imagine how I felt about this. I was ecstatic! But... the first time my little man will be at Sea World was the parking lot??

It was a beautiful day, the sun was out with a little breeze. When we got there we walked up and saw lots of people we hadn't seen in a long time. Cody used to be on the BBQ Committee so there were many people that hadn't seen us since we moved. As soon as we walk in we found out that parts of Sea World were OPEN!!! Are you kidding me??!! I was so excited and ready to go in the park. No shows were open but the aquarium, dolphin feeding pool and the stores were open. Great publicity for them! Of course we were going to have to get him something from his first trip to the greatest place ever! :)

After hanging out for a while we took Colton into the park! When we walked up there were people holding birds that you could go up to and take your picture with. We then went to the dolphin pool, fed the dolphins and then walked through the aquarium. It was such a great time and I loved sharing with Colton something that I love! Cody and I can't wait till he is a little bigger to take him and show him around.

Hey Daddy!
It's really bright again and there is a dolphin right behind me!
WOW! That dolphin might be bigger than Dakota. Can I climb all over her like I do the dogs?

Dad's 60th Birthday!

Dad turned 60 this year on January 29th! Christine wanted to surprise him somehow and came up with a wonderful idea. She called both of Dad's brothers that live in California and Kansas and asked them to come down for the weekend. They agreed!!! Grandma had no idea what was going on. All she knew is that they were going to go to dinner and that Cody, Colton and I were going to come in and surprise him. Little did she know that all three of her boys were going to be there! We recommended go to Myron's Steak House, our favorite restaurant and the place that we went the night we got engaged. We made all the necessary arrangements and had everything planned out. Everyone met at the restaurant and was there in plenty of time for Dad's big surprise! Both Dad and Grandma were so thrilled and very surprised! We had a wonderful evening together celebrating.
Birthday Boy and Christine, his fiance!!! Yep, they are engaged as of New Year's!! We are so happy and excited for the two of you!

New Year's in Rockport!

After spending Christmas in San Antonio, Cody went hunting with the boys, we then finished our "Tour of Texas" in Rockport for New Year's. We stayed with Lanny, Holly and the kids at their coast house and had a wonderful time. More family time! Toby, Stacy and the kids were at Stacy's mom's new coast house and Bill & Prissy were at Lanny & Holly's house as well.
We made sugar cookies and decorated them and played lots of games. Reese got Uno Flash for Christmas and we played that a lot along with a big game of Monopoly with the guys. The boys are way to competitive when it comes to Monopoly! But we all had such a great time playing games!

Rolling Over!!!

Ok... He did it!! He Finally rolled over! (you have to pretend that you are reading these posts when they actually happened since I am SOOO far behind) I was thinking Colton was never going to roll over, but he did! The day before Christmas Eve!! Colton and I were at home playing and I was actually able to capture his first roll on video! It was so fun and I loved being there for such a milestone! He favors rolling over his left shoulder. He now can roll both ways and keep rolling.
Sucking his left pointer finger. I don't know what we would do if something happened to that finger, it's his security blanket. He loves pulling his feet to his face and laying like this.
Rocking back and forth.
Still rocking.
Almost all the way over!
