Bad News

So, after having contractions the majority of the day yesterday, I went to Labor and Delivery and am now officially dilated to a 1 and am on strict bed rest. So not going to be fun. I can shower every other day, get up to go to the bathroom, and to get myself something to eat, and that is it. I go in again on Monday to see if there is any change. If there is not, hopefully it will be modified bed rest. So wish me luck. I was so positive yesterday that I would not have to go on bed rest, and here I am. I will be spending the whole weekend at my parents house, so if you need to get a hold of me you can call my cell phone.

Why god made moms and baby updates

My cousin Cara did this with her son and I thought it was really cute, so I tried it out with Scarlett and here are her responses. For those of you who have children that can talk, I want to see this posted from you too.
Why did God make Moms? Scarlett: Because if he didn't make moms then the dads won't have babies, and then nobody would have babies.
How did God make Moms? Scarlett: Because he's magic.
What ingredients are Moms made of? Scarlett: Umm...Bones, and they like, have babies because babies are cute.
Why did God give you your mom and not some other mom? Scarlett: Because she thought that I would be sad if I didn't have her as my mom, because she always tells me stories sometimes when I go to bed.
What kind of girl was your Mom? Scarlett: Celeste
What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him? Scarlett: To kiss him when they talked about getting married.
Why did your Mom marry your Dad? Scarlett: Because boys like girls and girls like boys.
Who's the boss at your house? Scarlett: Mommy and Daddy.
What's the difference between Mom's and Dad's? Scarlett: Dads are kids bosses and they are bosses of moms too.
What does your Mom do in her spare time? Scarlett: She just, she relaxes in her bed, then when she's done she gets up.
What would it take to make your Mom perfect? Scarlett: Umm...be nice to her children then she gives them hugs and kisses when they get booboos and when they cry.
If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be? Scarlett: When you don't do the rules, she gets a little mad, and when I do do the rules she's really nice.

Now an update on the babies. I had blood work done on Tuesday and I am still waiting for the results, so pray for no gestational diabetes, which I doubt I have. I am also anxiously awaiting the results of my bile acids test. For those of you who don't know, I have been suffering from sever itching since about 18 weeks, and was tested once for cholestasis, but the results were negative. I am still itching, with no relief, so I was tested again on Tuesday and am hoping the results will let me know why, so my Dr. can treat this and I don't lose my mind. I also had an ultrasound at my perinatalogist that afternoon and the babies are sure growing. Baby A weighs 2 lbs 6 oz, and Baby B weighs 2 lbs 4 oz. So I am almost carrying around 5lbs of babies and I still have awhile to go. Both babies are head down, and I am encouraging them to stay that way so that I can have a regular delivery and not a c-section. So think head down thoughts for these little ones. The babies are so cute that I can't stand it. You can really tell from their US pictures that they look exactly alike, and that they look exactly like their dad! I can't wait for them to be here, but I will patiently wait out the next 7-9 weeks. Oh, and so far no bed rest! Yay for me.
One other thing really quick about how perceptive my son is. I was getting dressed in the bathroom and Abram was taking a bath and he looks at me and says in the sweetest voice, "Mom, you have big boobs." Oh, music to a mother's ears. He then informed me that I had a big tummy because I have big babies in there. Atleast he didn't tell me I had a huge butt! Oh and one more thing, one of Scarlett's teeth are already starting to grow in. I can't believe it. She just seems too young.

Bump photos and lost teeth

First, I will post some tummy photos that I took last night for my best good cousin Kendra! This is me one night shy of 26 weeks, only 11 more weeks to go.

So I had a Dr. appointment on Monday and I have a bragging post to follow up with that. I have gained 18 lbs so far, which my Dr thinks is phenomenal, even if it was a singleton pregnancy. So I was kinda proud of that, hopefully I will have less to lose after these two are born. Also I am measuring at 27 weeks, so only 2 weeks further along than I actually am. The majority of twin mommas measure 4-12 weeks ahead, so I am happy that the babies are the right size and I am measuring kinda small. It doesn't take away from the fact that I still feel huge, but it's nice to know that medically, I am not. Also, from here on out its appointments every 2 weeks, plus twice a week hospital trips to L&D for non stress tests, so basically I will be living at my parents house, but she said bed rest so far doesn't appear to be in the cards for me! Yay!

Next thing on the docket is Scarlett lost her first tooth on Monday. It has been wiggly for a little while, but was hanging on for dear life on Monday night. She wouldn't let anyone else touch it, but handled it like a pro and yanked it out herself. She was so proud and so was I. She called everyone we know practically to tell them the news. The tooth fairy brought her a dollar coin. Then last night she tells me her tooth feels funny, so I hurried to take a pic before the other one fell out. So she once again pulled it herself. She is now missing her two bottom middle teeth. She looks adorable and sounds adorable. Unfortunately I left her tooth at Grandma's house last night, so the tooth fairy will visit tonight after Seth pics up her tooth. Tomorrow she turns 5, and is looking forward to life as a really big girl.

One more update on our family. We survived the storm, sort of! Our back fence is missing huge chunks from it, so Maple escaped. Luckily we have some fantastic neighbors who took care of her and are taking care of her today until we get our temporary fence up this afternoon. Friday morning I had just dropped of Seth at work and it was in the middle of the worst of the storm. I was heading to my parents and rounded a bend and ran right into a huge fallen tree. I just kept driving because I didn't know what else to do. I couldn't drive around it because it took up all of Horseshoe Bar Rd! So I just drove and hoped it didn't do too much damage. We got to my parents and thankfully and miraculously I only lost my passenger side high beam and the mirror. No dents, no scratches, and most importantly, Scarlett, Abram, the twins and I weren't harmed. We also lost power for the day, but was restored to us at 11:30 that night. We were lucky because some still don't have power almost a week later. Well, that's our life lately. Hopefully everyone else is doing great.
In case you missed it, I changed the first pic, I could not stand staring at the huge zit on my chin!
