Busy, Busy Boy!

Parker has been a busy boy these last couple of days! He is learning new skills and tricks everyday, and it's keeping Chad and I on our toes! He's been crawling now for almost a month and has definitely gotten the hang of it, as well as pulling himself to standing position. He's even started "cruising" with help from the furniture, and when he gets really brave he will let go so he's only holding on with one hand! His most recent discovery are the stairs heading up and the fact that he can crawl up them. He's made it up about 4 or 5 steps with us hovering nearby. The big smile on his face when he's crawling up them makes me think he's pretty proud of himself, and so are we!

Another new trick he is perfecting is "riding" his carseat. You just have to see this to know what I mean...

But Parker doesn't just spend all his time playing, he is also a tremendous helper! Here he is helping me sweep the kitchen floor this morning.

Ta Da! All done!

And I found him helping take the toliet paper off the roll for us... it's so much more convenient that way, don't you think?

I've never laughed so much in all my life... he cracks me up! Everyday is a new adventure, and I love it! Hope you all are enjoying your adventures :)

Happy Halloween!

We had a great halloween this year with our little scarecrow. I had a fun time making his costume, dressing him up and then all of us going out on the town. He looked adorable! He wasn't quite sure what to think about the hat when we put it on him, he kept trying to take it off and eat it! We had fun seeing all the kids costumes when they came trick or treating and enjoyed our homemade chili and rolls. After Parker went to bed, Chad and I celebrated by watching Transformers 2. I thought maybe we should watch a scary halloween movie, but decided Transformers is about as much action as I can take! I remember when I was a teenager and would sit downstairs in my bedroom and scare myself half to death watching scary movies. I would be so freaked out I didn't want to even turn out the light or leave my room! I'm glad I have Chad now so that when I watch anything that freaks me out he will stick by my side and I won't have to go upstairs by myself. Yeah I know, I'm a wimp :) Hope you all had a happy halloween and that you ate lots of candy, I know I did!

Just wanted to add a few fall photos that I took of Parker a couple of weeks ago...

Beautiful Bridger Campground

Last week Laura and I finally got to enjoy some canyon air. When I got back home from work we only had a couple of hours of daylight left. After going back and forth on whether we would have enough time we decided we could care less if it got dark on us. So we hurried to gather up the utensils, ketchup, cooler, hamburgers, BBQ, propane, etc., and packed it up into the trunk.

About 15 minutes later (and this is what I love so much about living close to Logan) we arrived at Bridger campground. Well almost. It was closed. We parked in front of the closed gate blocking any entrance to vehicles to cross the bridge into the campground. After a little climb over the gate, a short walk, and about 5 minutes we had the table cloth setup and the BBQ on the picnic table warming up.

The sun was still up, but no sunlight was hitting the canyon. The trout in the river were starting to have their dinner too. It's surprising just how much better the air is once you get up into the canyon.

Laura made a delicious pasta salad to go with our hamburgers and Cheetos. After dinner we fired the grill back up to roast some marshmallows and make delicious s'mores.

All-in-all we had a great evening. It was so nice to spend some great time together and we hope to be able to come back again before it gets too cold.

Bring On the Stretchy Pants

Oh the joys of stretchy pants! As Chad mentioned in his last post, I finally gave in and graduated to maternity clothes. Why didn't I do this sooner! I can't believe how comfortable I am! I think the baby appreciates the extra room too because he has been much more active in the last week. Today Chad and I actually saw him kicking. It was so awesome and I totally got the giggles because it was so funny to watch.

We had our Dr. Appt. last Thursday and everything went really well. The Dr. said she was able to look over the ultrasound pics and that he looked really good. It was cute when we were trying to listen to his heartbeat... She couldn't find it for a minute and then all of a sudden we heard this loud noise like someone hitting a microphone and she said that he was kicking. It was funny to hear. Our next appointment is in about 4 weeks and that's when I get tested for gestational diabetes (I have to drink this orange soda stuff and then have my blood drawn an hour later) and I also will get my first Rhogam shot (because of my blood being negative). So as the doctor put it, it will be an appointment full of poking and prodding... How fun :)

Yesterday we met up with Chad and Ashley, Chris and Katie and Trisha and Chenelle for lunch at Juniper. It was so great to get together and laugh about funny memories and well, just about everything. There is always a lot of laughing when we get together. It was so fun and I hope we get to do it again soon!

After lunch Chad and I went to Storks Landing to check out all the baby stuff. We are starting to realize how fast time is flying by and we are wanting to get prepared. We checked out awesome cribs and dressers and really comfy gliders. It will be fun to start buying here in the near future.

Well, dinner is about ready and I'm really starting to drool thinking about the mashed potatoes so... Have a great week everyone!

1,000,000,000 Stanley Nickels

Saturday I took Laura out to shop for some maternity clothes. After we stopped at Shopko and she didn't find anything Laura suggested to go get a Jamba Juice. Man...I forgot how good they really are. If you want a good pick-me-up Jamba Juice try out the Strawberry Surf Rider. After the re-charge we went to the Motherhood Maternity store and finally had some luck.

Yesterday we had to stop by Lee's to pick up a few groceries. They happened to be having a case lot sale and Laura can't resist a case lot sale. So we got a few cases of tomato stuff for making pastas as well as some "sausage lush."

TV shows are finally starting back up again. Laura talked me into watching the first episode of Fringe tonight and I do have to say that I love it. It's like X-Files meets Lost plus some other good stuff thrown in.

We also watched the episode of "The Office" with Dwight's "Schrute Buck." Here's my favorite line from that episode.

Dwight: Don’t you want to earn Schrute bucks?

Stanley: No. In fact, I’ll give you a billion Stanley nickels if you never talk to me again.

Dwight: What’s the ratio of Stanley nickels to Schrute bucks?

Stanley: Same as the ratio of unicorns to leprechauns.

Tomorrow is our next Doctor's appointment to see how the baby is doing. We'll keep you posted...

It's a Boy!!!

Yesterday we went in for our big ultrasound. Our ultrasound technician checked out pretty much every part of him. His development is 55% complete so he said he could come a few days early. All of his organs are good and he checked out fine. We are so glad that he is healthy. He's quite active and Laura feels him move around at least a few times a day. The technician got some good photos and here are a couple of the best ones.

Peace out!
