Getting ready for a trip!

Cameron and I are getting ready to go to VA for about a month! We're really excited (well, I am and I'm sure he'll enjoy his time, too) and leave in a few days. We'll be in Richmond for about two weeks and then traveling around VA visiting Chad's family for a couple days. Then we're off to Myrtle Beach, SC with Chad's family for a week. Finally, we'll come back to Richmond for my friend's wedding reception and my nephew's baptism. Whew! It's going to be a long trip, but one that will be so good for us. Chad will join us in a few weeks after his summer class is over.

Cameron was trying on hats for the beach. This is the only one that seemed to sort of fit.

Cameron is trying to look tough with his gang sign.

This is what I call a "Chad smile"--it's kind of a sideways, crooked smile.

I'm not sure how much I'll post while I'm at home cause I don't have the software to download pics on my parents' computer. But I'll definitely take a lot of pictures and update when I get back at the end of August. You can also check out Katie's blog (her link is on here) for any pictures we might take at home. Have a good August!!

Bathtime with Daddy

We give Cameron a bath every night as part of his nighttime routine. He seems to enjoy it and I think it helps him calm down a little before going to bed. These are some pictures from his bath tonight with Chad.

Funny Daddy

Chad was making Cameron laugh tonight. Here is the sequence of his faces and excitement.

The pictures don't really do his smile justice. He does it so fast that I can't get a good picture of him smiling in focus. Guess you'll just have to take my word for it until you see him in person!

Lots to tell...

Cameron gets chapped lips quite a bit. When he has skin that's pulled off a little, it kind of looks like he has rabit teeth. I couldn't get a great picture of this, but this is what it kind of looks like.

So Chad cut his hair today and wanted me to help with the back (like I usually do). He had cut the top and sides and then taken the guard off to clean it. But he didn't put it back on and I didn't even notice it wasn't on until I took a major chunk out of the back of his hair! I felt so horrible and kept apologizing. Chad was surprisingly calm, but I still felt so bad. So he had to buzz it. I think he looks really good with it buzzed, anyway. And it's a good summer cut.

He's definitely a good sport, although he wanted to use the clippers on my hair, too. He said it was only fair. Riiiiight.

I found Cameron trying to eat Chad's shirt last night. I thought this pose was pretty funny.

And this is just too cute.

Oh Blessed Sleep

For the past four nights, Cameron has slept for about 9 hours each night (without waking up to eat). He also is taking better naps during the day. I'm not sure where this good luck for us came from, but we certainly welcome it! The worst part, though, is that it's been pretty hot here the past four days. So Chad and I can't sleep much. It's either the heat or my paranoia/regular routine that Cameron will wake up at 5am or so. Anyway, I'll work on my part. I'm just hoping Cameron continues this trend.

Here are some pictures I took this past week.

Cameron seems to be getting more and more curious about things that move. I love to move my fingers in front of him and watch him examine them. He also loves the mobiles in his crib and on his swing. And he smiles a lot more now, although it's hard for me to catch it on camera.

It's so fun to see him growing up!!
