Week 2 with Ned

We have all been trying to put emphasis on Collins being the Best Big Brother and giving him extra attention.  Since I can't pick him up for 6 weeks he plays with Mimi or Mo during the day and Chad after work.  The weather has been perfect so we have been spending lots of time on the patio!

Our sweet neighbors The Ramels let Collins borrow this cool motorized 4-wheeler.  He loves it!!!
Collins is very interested in his "Baby" and he does lots of looks and talking about him.  I think he is adjusting but it will be on his time.

Week 2 was filled with visitors:

Jessica and Ned!

Leah and Ned!

Jamie and Ned!

Ned and Uncle Craig!

Ned and Mimi!

Ned and Mo!

Ned, Aunt Kim and Collins!

Megan and Ned!
At first Collins didn't want to be in the room when someone was holding his Baby but he is coming around...  The closest he has been for a photo was next to Aunt Kim!

Week 1 with Ned

Ned gave us a scare 24 hours after he was born so the first week was spent in the Hospital.  On Friday, July 18th Ned was admitted to the NICU with Pneumothorax - collapsed lungs.  It was very emotional and scary.  I am so thankful for Dr. Pole, all the awesome nurses, and our family and friends.  You never want your child to be in a situation like this but if you are the NMMC NICU is the best possible place to be.
He was treated with 100% Oxygen Hood.  He was fortunate that his lungs healed with the Oxygen Hood.  After normal scans we worked on feedings and moved to step down.  I was released from the hospital on Sunday, July 20th without Ned.  It was so hard to leave.  He was released on Wednesday, July 23rd.

Getting ready to go home!

Sweet Ned!
We came home and got settled while Collins was at school.  After school he washed hands and changed clothes and was ready to see the "Baby" we had been talking about for so long.

What is in there?

Now that week 1 is behind us I am looking forward to the fun times ahead as a family of 4!  I am sure it will be a wild ride...

Edmond Hamilton "Ned" West is Here!

Surprise... Ned came early.  I went to see Dr. Ray for an appointment Thursday, July 17th and we made the decision to deliver Ned that day.  We left Sanders Clinic and had several hours to take care of a few things and be at the hospital by 1 pm.
