Sophie Gets Her Patriarchal Blessing
Sophie wanted to get her partiarchal blessing before we moved to Colorado. I was really proud of her that she has been studying her scriptures and saying her prayers and doing a lot of soul-searching to decide that she felt she was ready for this.
I was 16 when I got mine and there really isn't a specific age when you can get it. It's kind of between the individual and the Lord. It is a priesthood blessing that is specific to Sophie. It is kind of like her personal set of scriptures, but where the scriptures are for everyone, her blessing is specific to her. It is a way for her to know the promises and blessings that the Lord has for her. It is kind of like a personal road map of life and a source of direction and comfort as she goes through life. As she reads it she can be reminded of who she is, and how important she is and she can feel the love that Heavenly Father has for her.

Going Away Party
Last Sunday some friends of our threw us a going away party. It was so fun to visit with friends we have made during our time here in St. Louis. It is really hard to believe that we are moving on. One of the blessings of moving around from time to time is that you get to meet people all over the place that impact your life. We have truly been blessed by so many people here that we will miss dearly. Our kids have made life long friends, and so have Dave and I. We love St. Louis. Thank you for giving us 7 amazing years.
